Good but not great

This cutoff saw has plenty of power to cut through most stuff. It bogs down a bit on 3.5 inch square tube (1/4 in wall). I think what is disappointing is the flimsy base which is stamped steel as opposed to good solid cast iron. As a result, the saw vibrates like crazy and doesn't cut a smoothly or cleanly as my Ryobi. Your better off getting one with a solid heavy duty base as you will be more pleased. Also, the clamping system on it is not very smooth and could have been designed better. Still, it cuts metal and as long as it does that without burning up its not money wasted.

Great value for the price

I've used this saw to cut 800 linear feet of 20 gauge steel studs and track in the last three weeks. I've been happy with it's performance and the durability of the included blades. The clamping system works well with track and studs, and the spark guard system keeps most of the sparks off the operator.My only complaint has to do with the angle of the handle. In the raised position you'd have to be 7 1/2 feet tall to place your hand as intended in the handle. At 6'2", I have to overextend my wrist to grasp the handle in preparation for a cut.
