5Hard to find Product
By P. Burns
This awesome product is hard to find because it is no longer available through doctors or suppliers. Finding it on Amazon was a nice surprise. Banalg works on my pain like no other "over the counter" rub does. It is pricy, but in my opinion, worth it.

3Excellent Smooth Ball, But That's It
By Eric M Reeves
I've recently made the decision to begin using a trackball at work, mostly due to comfort reasons. I'm very attracted to the idea of not having to move my whole forearm around just to move the mouse pointer. I have evaluated 3 trackballs so far, one of them being the Kensington Expert Mouse Pro (the other 2 being the Microsoft Trackball Explorer and the Kensington TurboRing). The winner was the TurboRing in my book, but here are my thoughts on the Expert Mouse Pro.

The ball is excellent. It is by far the smoothest, nicest feeling ball out of any of the trackballs I've tried. My big complaint is that it is not NEARLY as comfortable as the TurboRing, and that the scroll wheel is in the worst location I could possibly dream of for it. If the scroll wheel were located directly to the right (and left, to keep it symmetric) of the track ball, then it would be a MUCH nicer device. But the way it is currently laid out, you've got to lift your hand and reach above the ball to hit it, which is rather ridiculous. If Kensington would put the metal rollers from the Expert Mouse Pro in to the TurboRing, it would be hands-down the ultimate trackball IMO. But for my purposes, the TurboRing still won strictly because of it's extremely logical layout, and superior ergonomics. It's definitely the most comfortable pointing device I've ever used.

4Great trackball for the computer
By David T. Wang
I know many people prefer either a mouse or a trackball. Sometimes both. This review is mainly helpful for those accustomed to the trackball especially the older Expert Mouse Trackball (K64215).

I recently bought this trackball for use on my G4 Macintosh at work. Since the trackball is USB-ready, there is no need for an adapter. The Expert Mouse Pro is just a larger version of the older model with many, newly added features.

The six buttons at the top act as shortcuts linking you to files, applications, and/or websites. This is extremely handy. Adding and editing these features is easily done through the control panel for the Expert Mouse Pro. The location of the buttons is a bit awkward because you have to move your hand up from your working position to push the buttons. The scroll knob is handy for moving up and down the window. My only problem with the scrollling knob is that the trackball just below it makes it hard for you to access it since it elevates your hand a bit too high.

The trackball, itself, glides without any problems. It's smooth and responsive. The color of the device (grey) may not be to some people's liking. The large size and shape of the Expert Mouse Pro may not appeal to those who like small, more aerodynamical input devices.

Overall, this is a wonderful device that is not without its own minor flaws. But if you are willing to overlook those details, the Expert Mouse Pro is a great input device for your computer.

5Extremely functional
By Nelson Cheng
While I don't use any of the buttons except for the bottom two (which are the typical right/left buttons on a mouse), I find this mouse to be extremely useful. First, it's a trackball mouse. I personally find regular mice to be hard on my wrists (and somewhat annoying over time as the mouse become less sensitive.) Second, this mouse can be adjusted so that it is not only extremely sensitive, but also useable. Although every mouse can be set so the cursor flies across the screen, this mouse can be finely set so that you not only have an extremely fast mouse, but also one that is manageable in terms of stopping the cursor. All in all, I find this to be the most functional mouse (in terms of speed and positioning of the cursor) that I have ever used. The biggest downside is that it is quite large.

5Burn Baby Burn
By Steve A Brown
Set-up was a breeze. The included Nero software behaved well on installation. Novices may be a bit confused by all the options (Audio/Data CDs, etc.) but this is very straightforward software.

A particularly great feature is the included InCD program. After an initial formatting of a CDRW disc (about 40 minutes on a year old el-cheapo disc), you can use the disc like you would a floppy. Of course, you get over 400 times more space. The disc was readable in several newer CD-ROM drives without needing the InCD program installed, so you're talking selectively erasable portable mega-storage.

I had to stop at CompUSA for some blanks and noticed this drive on the shelves at $.... This is a great deal.

I burned a CD with about 60 mp3s (300 megs or so) in about 6 minutes. This thing hums! Don't be put off by the brand. The drive I got was made by Teac (if I recall correctly).

5Great Price/Performance Package
By Gerald W Cohail
Installation was simple: I disconnected the cables from my Sony 32x CD-ROM drive, removed it from the case, replaced it with the CenDyne 8x8x32 EIDE Internal CD-RW Drive (manufactured by Sanyo), connected the existing cables to the new drive, and turned on the computer. Windows rebuilt its driver database and 10 minutes after I began the installation I was listening to a CD. No tweeking.

Next came the software installation -- a very easy process -- afterwhich I started the Nero Burning Rom software, selected 22 songs from 22 different CDs (giving me a 70-minute compilation) and let Nero do its job. The entire process took less than an hour (10 minutes actual burn time). Recording the same songs to a cassette would have easily taken 90-100 minutes.

5Greay buy, great burner
By Matthew C Donner
I bought this recorder as a replacement for the Acer 8432. I had a HORRIBLE experience with the Acer drive (made more coasters than I have cups for) and I wanted to buy an inexpensive replacement for it.

This Cendyne drive is great! Very reliable and and no buffer under-runs so far. The speed is only an added bonus.

Nero is a great program. I was using Easy CD Creator 4 before, but I don't think I will go back. Not for the novice, but it isn't rocket science.

BTW this is actually a Ricoh drive (very respectable company). Great deal.

4Generally Satisfied
By A Customer
Projector arrived on time and in excellent condition. This model does not have an automatic/remote focusing feature, which means the operator must adjust focus manually at projector. There is, however, a corded remote slide advancer. Apart from these model shortcomigs, this projector is easy-to-use and reliable, just as we have come to expect Kodak carousels to be.

4An addendum to my previous review
By A Customer
I have to add this to my previous review, in all fairness to reviewing. I had to return my 8700 to Microtek. After a phone call to tech support, he determined that my unit may have had a hardware problem due to the inconsistent manner my scanner would or would not work. It would or would not scan the image-it might do a partial scan then black out the rest-or it might scan correctly-I just never knew what it would do.When you would click the arrow in the toolbar to shut it down, it would not respond.I did not get an owner's manual with my first scanner. So I sent it off; the replacement was a different story. It worked! It has not given me any "partial" scans; it has shut down properly everytime, and it had the owner's manual. After e-mailing tech support to find out about the dynamic range, (indicates how a scanner might produce shadow detail) I found out it was a 3.2. This is not so great; I had noticed on more than a few slides that the shadow detail was lacking. For me, this scanner prints better from negatives, as the film I use has very good latitude. 2400x1200 dpi optical for 35mm is okay but if you are serious about your work, wanting enlargements, your negatives or slides better be super sharp, with good contrast-otherwise I would look for a higher dpi output, or try a larger negative format. To wrap this up, I wish this scanner had a better dpi output and a higher dynamic range-I would say the two most important characteristics, besides very sharp scans. Otherwise, the scanner is easy to use; the other features make it enjoyable to use. I would give it 3 stars, but the ability to print from larger negatives-4x5, 6x6-6x9 film negatives or unmounted slides, or 8x10 transparency holder w/glass hopefully will help out the quality of my enlargements-will have to wait and see.

2Be afraid.. be very afraid.
By A Customer
The product is OK, but Microtek's support options are second to, well, everyone. You can call a toll number, listen to more options than you ever thought possible, and hold for at least twenty minutes, or you can browse their shockingly inadequate website. I'm not sure that it isn't more prudent to go with a different brand that has more comprehensive support options, especially if you are a new or inexperienced user.

4Great scanner; must work your way through the menus.
By A Customer
The scanning capabilities from this model are excellent. It comes with a firewire card and cable (in addition to a USB cable) that installed easily in my computer(instructions are easy-remove panel from computer-ground yourself by touching the computer case or chassis to prevent static electricity). WinME automatically recognized it right away. My only gripe is that for what this scanner costs, that it does not include a DETAILED user manual. Customer service is a long wait on the 1-800#. I gave up and worked out my questions myself-like how to get to the PRINT menu from PhotoshopLE-a real pain. Also, the tools in the Photoshop menu grey-out. What is going on here? It depends on what file or folder the preferences (in the edit button) get moved to. I'm not sure how they get moved in the first place. It is hard to get to print from the "MY IMAGES" file or folder; another thing I need to work out. From Microtek's photo scan menu, it depends on where you save the image-then a copy button finally pops on the interface (don't ask me how, I don't remember what I clicked) replacing the scan button. VERY FRUSThttps://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV781kxOqnsvBb6LNuxmHZBMuO-VV56ZwMUb6uOa8ARYnszg6O6xjjNcottXIpNqBC6PwyJVpqcG-AglhJzVggOOC7l59r2xd-JhoZmOxYkujJa-eZJ5GKdyt3oe71NK-MXBJ5K75ZxRk/s1600/rating+4.png; took this dumbbell forever to figure out. I really questioned this purchase, and considered returning it but I will keep it, as I am a serious photographer and need the control for my printing. The slide and film holders for DIRECT scanning (no distortion from glass), 42bit color, legal size scanning, 2400x1200, 9600 interpolated dpi are GREAT accesories and qualities for the PRICE. My printer is a 1200x1200dpi inkjet that came w/the computer. The results are ok-color rendition fom scanner is TRUE & EXCELLENT (5 STARS!!) that is important for me, but I see some graininess, so I will upgrade to a higher dpi printer in the future. The software includes Adobe Photoshop 5 LE-this takes some working with, as there is not much in the way of a manual for this. The additional software lets you create a web page, & share photos on the web. There is an icon on the desktop menu bar with a green arrow that when you scroll over it says unplug or eject hardware-DON'T click this-it does not shut the scanner off, it uninstalls something, then you have to re-install the scanner. Useless button that should be talked about or explained in the non-existant user manual. When I first installed the scanner and used it, it worked fine. When you shut down or let the computer sleep, THEN you can turn off the scanner-don't do it before, because then windows won't be able to find the scanner when you go to turn it back on. I have had to uninstall and re-install this scanner twice because windows could not find it. Maybe others have not had the problems I've had, but once you work your way through the menus, it does get better. I would give it 5 stars, but technical support is a toll number-you have to call customer service; hopefully they will help. Also, easier scan to print or copy menus and a thorough user manual would help. But image quality is nice, color is great, even Microtek's scan interface with imaging controls are very good.

5Three (NOW SEVEN!) years and running great!
By John A. Martinsky
I am a professional remodeler and in the past five years I have burnt out three Delta planers. Twice, the feed rollers gave up and the last one apparently suffered a major internal failure. I have had the Makita now for two months and it has been flawless as I would expect. We plane some tough stuff like Ipe so we definitely give these things a workout. If it is still flawless in a year, I will give it a fifth star. I appreciate the ergonomics of this well, thought out machine. I am glad that Makita has eliminated a cutterhead lock. I personally couldn't care less about "snipe", of which this machine creates very little. We plane long and then cut to size on the miter saw. Don't you? I do have one question ..., is there any reason why I can't buy replacement blades online?Okay, so I'm a year late, this is one VERY good planer! It continues to perform like new, with only blade changes. I have it hooked up in my shop and have run hundreds of feet of maple, pine, poplar, Ipe, oak, even plywood and MDF. It just does its thing. Very uneventful, I like that. That's what I pay for. The only downside is that it makes justifying a 15" Powermatic planer difficult! So here were are now, its 2004 and the little bugger just keeps going! I may never get that new planer. What can I say, after, I don't know, five or six thousand feet of various hardwoods, no changes to date! See you next year! What can I say? Late again! So here we are almost eight years later and the little SOB just keeps running! New blades, vacuum occasionally, lube the posts if I think of it and it just keeps going. If it ever dies, I'll let you know!

5Excellent Choice
By John L. Toner
I received my new Makita 2012B Portable Planer for Christmas. I had researched all the available models and felt that the Makita had the edge on paper. Putting it to the reality check test, a friend and I ran over 100 board feet of quartersawn white oak through the planer, then finished up by using the system to shave down a walnut inlay in ash. I was really impressed by the performance! No snipe, very smooth surfaces, quiet operation, and ease of use were at the top of my list of favorable impressions. We especially liked the depth stop option for reproducibly machining multiple boards to the same thickness. Too early to tell how the planer will hold up with time. I will write a follow-up after a year of use. The only objection I have to the tool is that for the price, Makita should include the dust hood. It is essential and has to be ordered separately from Makita.

5Plain Heaven
By A Customer
I spent a lot of time looking at portable planers. They all had something I liked and didn't. The Makita 2012NB had everything I was looking for. Lower the cutting head down until the depth pin moves, set the dial indicator to zero, then lower the cutting head to the depth you want. Easy, fast, accurate and quiet. It has an adjustable rod for making plaining more than one board to the same thickness and can be set to any thickness you want. The interna-lock head keeps snipe to a minimum and I'm happy not to have to mess with a head lock. It seems to be constructed to last a long time but I haven't used it long enough to say for certain yet. It is more expensive but I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. The only complaint I have is for the price why didn't Makita include dust shut with dust collector connection?

5Do you want the best?
By montet202@hotmail.com
I am an experienced finish carpenter, and have used nearly all of the 15ga guns on the market. This is simply the best. Great feel. Smoothe. Easy to use. The shop where I buy my tools (NOT HOME DEPOT!) is extremely knowledgable and only carries the best, claims that in five years of carrying MAX they have not had a single gun returned for any reason. I have used roofers, framers, siders, and finishers from MAX and would never even think of buying another brand of gun.
