5Another Great Garmin Product
By A Customer
I just got the GPS 76 from a local store, and I must Say that I love it. I have a Garmin GPS 230(Larger, Flush Mounted Boat Unit) and actually acheived better position data because of the WAAS(Wide Area Augmentation System) which will give you correct information as colse as 9feet 95% of the time. Battery Life is Adequate and the Screen is large and easy to read.

5Great for PDA or PC connection
By Corey Stephens
The GPS 76 is the perfect portable GPS unit for connecting to a PocketPC based PDA or a laptop. I have tested it on an iPAQ 3835 with Pocket Streets 2002 and it works like a champ. I have also tested it with a friend's PDA using Anywhere Map (a moving map/EFIS type program for flying) and it worked great. If you are in an area that can get WAAS reception, the accuracy is even better. If you are looking for a great GPS that can be used stand-alone or attached to a PDA, this is it.

3Pretty, but...
By J. Krauss
I don't have the round ones, but I have the 2.5 and 1.5 oval ones. Ok, they're corningware, so you'll know they work great, but if I was buying them again, I'd find ones with handles. When you have 2.5 quarts of casserole, that's a heavy dish. Now try to pick it up out of the oven when it has no handles! It's difficult and awkward. On the other hand, they do look great sitting on the table.

5CorningWare French White 8 piece Casserole Set
By Rosemary Ann O'bryan
We just moved and before the move, I donated most of my household items. So, I had fun re-stocking my kitchen items. The Corningware French White Casserole Set is functional and also beautifully designed. CoringWare is microwave safe, oven safe, dishwasher safe - and freezer safe. I love the French White products because they are heavier than some of their other products - It is easy to have a goodlooking table when your items go from oven to table - no separate serving pieces are needed. The size options in this set, cover most of my needs.

5Worthwhile investment!
By clucy
If you have a family of four (or less if they're big eaters!) this is the grill for you. So far, I've cooked chicken, hamburger, and steaks on it, all in less than 10 minutes. Although it comes with a handy cookbook, you'll be able to adapt many of your regular recipes for use with this grill, whether the recipes call for grilling, broiling, frying, or baking. The grill holds about 3 "whopper" sized burgers, 4 good-sized burgers, or 6 smaller ones. For chicken breasts, it can hold 4-6 (maybe more) depending on size.

This particular model comes with 2 spatulas and 2 dip trays. Yes, the grill can be hard to clean if you don't wipe it off right away. The best way to clean it is to use the spatulas to scrape off the grill as soon as you remove your food. Then, as soon as you've eaten (and the grill has cooled a bit), wipe the grill down with warm, soapy paper towels. If you wait too long, the grease is hard to remove (be sure to wipe under the rim, too, for grease builds up there and might be hard to see). I haven't had any trouble with the teflon coating coming off, and I also find the spatulas easy to use (though they are a bit flimsy, but you can use any plastic utensil you want). The spatulas don't work as well scraping the grease from the very tip of the grill's bottom piece, as the grooves are deeper there than elsewhere. But for the job it does, the clean-up is worth it. This model is large, making it difficult to store in certain cabinets, but I use mine so often it just stays on the counter.

I would definitely recommend a George Foreman grill of any kind. It delivers what it promises: healthier food, and fast! You'll find yourself using the oven a lot less.

5AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT
By Andy Radke
I bought the George Foreman jumbo grill in April, and it is by far the best grill I've ever used. A day rarely goes by when I'm not cooking something on it.

The key aspect I must touch base on where the grill is concerned is how it literally drains the fat from your food. I was astounded by the amount of fat that came off 4 1/4 lb. hamburgers. I ultimately thought back about how much fat we consume per day without even knowing it. Meanwhile, the grill manages to retain the taste and juciness of the food you cook.

The fact that you can cook frozen food is an added bonus as well, especially for someone like me who usually waits until the last minute to decide what to eat.

I mainly use it when cooking chicken breasts. From the frozen state to fully-cooked takes approximately 10 minutes, and the result is incredible.

I also found clean up to be a breeze. The plastic scrapers which come with the grill are practically useless. Your best bet is to use either a wet cloth or a wet paper towel to wipe down the grill WHILE it is still warm. It will be clean in no time.

The grill is incredibly easy to use, and with the easy clean-up, you can simply wipe down the machine and be ready to use it again. I find this especially handy when cooking for a large group of people.

So, if you're looking to cook low-fat food that is absolutely mouth watering, quick, and easy. You can't go wrong with this product. I recommend it to anyone.

5HUGE grill for quick & tasty meals
By yarden
I bought the George Foreman grill as a joke for my husband (it DOES say "Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine" on it), but we used it every day for three weeks solid after it arrived. The reason? It's EASY, and the food turns out really tasty!

This particular model is HUGE and will cook several portions of meat at a time -- it cooks from the top and bottom all at once to cut your cooking time down to mere minutes! The grill is tilted and comes with a trough so that all excess fat is drained away from your food. Pretty nifty! It's also fairly easy to clean up -- you just wipe down the grill and throw the trough in the dishwasher.

We've used the grill for chicken breasts, Boca Burgers, regular burgers, pork chops, steaks, and even bacon strips (it's GREAT for avoiding a bunch of messy bacon grease). It cooks even frozen meat in a relatively short period of time, and it cooks it thoroughly. It's easy to throw something on the grill, sprinkle some seasonings on it (BAM!), and let it cook for a few minutes while you fix the rest of the meal. It is hard to overcook things, and it's fun to have grill-lines on your food.

It took me awhile to believe the hype about the George Foreman Grills, but they are easy to use and deliver good results. In fact, this might be a good way to introduce your older children (12 and up) to rudimentary cooking. With this model, your teenager could be in charge of cooking a meal once or twice a week, and you could be fairly sure the results would be edible.

The George Foreman grill is a great choice for people who don't have a lot of time to cook & clean, who aren't yet confident cooks or don't have a lot of cooking experience, or for anyone who wants an easy way to make a tasty meal!

4Iomega Does it Again!
By J. Morgan
The Iomega Zip 250 USB-Powered Starter Kit is excellent and a great value. The new powered zip drive is a breeze to install. Just load the software, attache the cable, reboot, and wha-la!! The drive installed immediately on my Win98SE Gateway laptop, with Win98 recognizing the drive and loading its drivers immediately. It is intuitive to use with the Iomegaware 2.8 software (the primary zip application) and creates another drive in your computer. You can drag and drop to your heart's content! I found no difficulty with compatibility at all, as did one reviewer - but perhaps going from PC to MAC or vice versa (as he/she apparently did) does cause problems. The only minor drawback I see is that it is a little noisey. I don't even notice that its particularly slow using older zip 100 disks, but I'm comparing it to a zip 100 parallel - now that's slow! Great product!!

1Zip 250 MB USB-Powered
By S. Livingston
Product worked well for about 6 months. Eventually it got slower and slower until it no longer would read any diskettes. Called the company and they said the drive was out of warranty and would cost $80.00 plus tax and shipping to fix it. I only had the drive for about 14 months and didn't even use it very much. IOMega refused to make any type of concession. Well they just lost a customer over their cheap dealings.

5POGO IS THE BEST
By Eric
My husband is a big guy and he loves anything involving balance. He has unicycles, skateboards, etc. He always wanted to pogo, but he weighs 215lbs and was frustrated that no stick could support him. He bought the AIR-GO from Razor, but it did not really "spring" too much. He bought this and loves it. He goes no-handed, backwards, one-footed, and his favorite - he pops up and rotates the stick 180 degrees and lands and keeps going. If you are bigger, but want to pogo, this is for you. He can jump about 5 feet across and maybe 1-2 feet high. It sure looks fun!

5Wow
By jedi_nitemare
I'm 43 and this is nothing like the weak pogo stick my little brother had when I was a kid. I surprised everyone in the family (even myself) when I ordered it. When it arrived, I discovered I had the Gravity Games version, which I think looks better because it isn't red. It was fully assembled, too. The spring was so stiff, I was afraid to get on it at first but I took it to my little brother's house and we had a blast with it. You won't catch me doing any extreme tricks at my age, but it's plenty fun just to bounce around and try to stay bouncing. Indoors, I use it as an exerciser by just trying to balance on it. It's quite a workout. Don't let the stiff spring intimidate you, once you start bouncing, you will appreciate it. I've already had so much fun with this pogo stick, it paid for itself on the first day. (The looks on people's faces when they see a grown man bouncing on a pogo stick make it even more fun.) It is well constructed and I expect it to last a long time. But like I said, I won't be doing any extreme tricks with it. If you try hard enough, you can break just about anything. If you get too crazy with it or don't pay attention to what you are doing, you can hurt yourself too. I get enough of a rush just taking it easy.

5you get used to the bruises
By Nosirah Freedman
The stick will bruise up the insides of you knees, but after a while you get used to it, and not even notice them. this stick is NOT ment for children NOR anyone under 120lbs. The stick is ment for tricks. If you are only buying this stick to bounce on, don't write a bad review when you find out the spring is insanely stiff.Only buy if you're into tricks. For that purpose, it's awesome.

4A Great Sea Kayaking Companion
By Darren
Before my GPS purchase, I considered a number of Magellan units in addition to some in the Garmin E Trex series. I finally decided on the Garmin Map76.

In addition to being relatively easy to use, I preferred the slightly larger screen of the Map76 over the other units. Since I was purchasing the unit to use while sea kayaking, I found the screen on the Map76 was much easier to read in the sunlight than the smaller screens on the E-Trex models. In addition, you can upload map data into this unit. (Although the unit includes a basemap, Garmin also manufactures a number of optional mapping products which cover roads, waterways and topographical features in more detail). For kayaking, I use the optional BlueCharts which is essentially like having Nautical maps at your fingertips. (These are sold by regions and tend to be a bit expensive however).

The tide station/prediction feature on the Map76 was also an important deciding factor. With this unit, you have the ability to get tidal predictions for virtually anywhere in the US at your fingertips.

The Map76 often receives criticism on the low amount of memory for uploading map data. The tradeoff however is that it also drains the battery power at a slower rate than those that boast more memory. (I also considered the GPS Map76S which has an added electronic compass and more memory, however after a trial use from a friend's, I found the Map76S unit to drain battery power far too quickly for my intended use. The Map76S was also about $100 more in cost). Although the Map76S was a slightly upgraded Map76, I didn't feel the extra features of the 76S were worth the added cost, especially with the faster rate of the battery drain.

I've logged over 500 miles of sea kayaking with this unit and am very satisfied with its performance. I find the memory capability in the Map76 is adequate for uploading maps for day trips and the balance with the battery drain is also sufficient.

Although it is waterproof, I highly suggest a transparent waterproof bag for using while kayaking to avoid salt water condensation corroding the battery leads.

Garmin also offers toll free phone and email technical support for their units and software.

This unit makes a great paddling partner.

4I'd buy it again, but gosh how about a little more RAM?
By A Customer
I love the screen, compared to the others. That is the most compelling feathure. The Mapsource info was more detailed than I expected. Tracked correctly on an old Georgia logging road I hunt from. I didn't expect it to be there. I did find some signal loss in deep woods though, the Lorance seems to have a better antenna if that is a problem for you. My dropouts were more momentary than extended though.Battery life was as advertised about 12 hrs, bonus that's using ONLY 2 AA batteries. I used the light on screen as little as possible though.Has all the features most could want. My understanding is WAAS is very limited at this time, DOD will shoot some more birds up in the future, but don't count on it for now. I used this in FLA, GA, Wash state, Lower Alberta and BC provinces and was satisfied overall w/ basemaps and reception... but never got WAAS. P.S. I would not trust basemap to navigate by (e.g. boat in fog). Resolution not enuf; happily it erred in my favor, said I was on land long before I could hit the rocks. Have to buy addin Topo USA (Canada) maps. Mapping/topo gps is wonderful, compared to nonmapping. I used the grids to find a draw that deer would likely use.

Interestingly, Garmin calls this a maritime unit, but depending what maps you download, it's not an issue if you are a landlubber. I downloaded a four county region near Tampa, and much of N. Georgia to the unit before running out of memory. I wanted to do Tenn. and NC appalacian Mtns, but not enuf room.

The floating part and general light weight is great feature. I think it is easier than some competitors.

Be sure to go to Garmin website and download: Firmware upgrade, Maritime map database (if u use downloadable maps, it can wipe out the base maritime maps, but u can upload again w/ this file) and finally, if u buy topousa or other set, get any updates there too.

5Hits the sweet spot for GPS price/performance...
By G. Lawrence
So I finally got around to upgrading my trusty 3 year old Garmin 12XL to a new GPSMAP 76. I played with one of the Magellan 330s at the local store for comparison but found that once again I simply prefer the Garmin user interfaces. I also picked up the MetroGuide CD. I figured if I was going to upgrade to a mapping GPS, I'd really want richly detailed maps. Surprisingly, I've experienced no buyer's remorse whatsoever. The GPSMAP 76 is nothing short of miraculous! Garmin is to be commended for the improvements they've made to their product line over the years.

The internal quad-helix antenna is excellent. Position accuracy is superb, screen resolution is vastly improved, and the extras such as tidal and celestial info are a really nice touch. The optimal fishing/hunting time predictor seems like overkill but I'll bet there are users who swear by it. The routing and tracking functions are well thought out and much improved since the 12XL was released. WAAS is sort of a mixed bag. I find that that whenever I lock onto WAAS signals, the estimated accuracy gets a few feet worse. It's never reads more than 20-25 feet off total but it's still the opposite of what I'd expect. Regardless of what the estimated error reading is, the accuracy always seems much better than it lets on. I've been using it a lot for geocaching lately and it invariably puts me within 5-6 feet of the caches.

The MetroGuide CD is quite nicely designed for a Windows product (I'm a Mac fan!) It contains substantial improvements over Delormes Street Atlas 4 Mac which was the last CD based mapping product I owned. It's fast and accurate (I understand that they just updated all their maps) and the integration with the GPSMAP is excellent. You can easily transfer all waypoints, routes, tracks, or maps back and forth between the GPS and your PC (or VirtualPC for Mac fans). You can also connect your GPS to the serial port and dynamically track your whereabouts on your laptop screen but I find this arrangement a bit cumbersome. There are just too many wires and batteries to deal with. For me having an easily readable, high-resolution, zoomable map on the GPS is the only way to go.

The only complaint I expected to make was with regard to the limited 8 MB map storage space. It turns out that 8 MB will hold pretty much the entire San Diego, CA and San Francisco, CA Bay Area. If I were driving across the country and wanted to investigate every nook and cranny I might be concerned. Otherwise it's perfectly fine for now.

Great product, great price. Happy navigating!
