Product Description

This beautifully made, old-fashioned rocking horse is built for children from 1 to 4 years old. Crafted with rounded, friendly shapes, the horse sports a natural wood finish with rails painted the traditional Radio Flyer red. Small enough to be stored easily in the corner of a room, it's also sturdy enough to withstand years of rough love and be passed on to the next generation of little riders.

5One flaw in a perfect toy
By Silver
I bought this rocking horse for my niece, and she adores it! I love the beauty and durability of its classic wooden structure. It has one major flaw, however. It's in the 'saddle', which is attached by two long wood screws that go up through a block into the bottom of the saddle. Unlike the rest of the horse, the base of the saddle is plastic. It didn't take very long at all for an industrious toddler to tear the saddle free. Fortunately, adults were watching and we retrieved the 2" sharp screws before she could play with them.

4Great LITTLE horse!
By A Customer
We bought this horse for my daughter's first birthday. While it was a bit too big for her then, now, at 18 months, she enjoys it a lot more. The horse is great looking and very classic. It is smaller than we expected, but the small size makes it great for keeping it out of the way. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy. Our only complaint is that the plastic "saddle" is a bit hard and doesn't look too comfortable. (Thank goodness diapers provide a little padding!) We are sure our daughter will get many years of use out of the horse, or "rocky" as he has been named.

1Waste of Money
By Tonya MC
My husband and I bought this toy for our son a year 1/2 ago. We were so excited about having a "classic toy" to have for many years and hope to pass along. Yeah right. This thing had parts that kept coming apart, ie.. the saddle the ears, the leg. It now sits in our basement waiting for the trash. I hate to throw it away because we payed so much for it but it just has not lived up to the "Radio Flyer" standard.

5A Recreation with Great Authenticity
By Denis L. Baggi
This is an exciting and interesting movie on historical Jazz. It also offers a proposal on how to deal with a problem that has never been entirely solved in jazz: how to re-create past music. In classical music you simply play the score, which contains more or less everything. But the essence of jazz is not in the score, but in all those non-objectifiable elements that are not in the score, namely, those collectively called "swing" (that's why the score is not the document in jazz, but only the recorded piece, which glorifies one particular instant).

Hence, how do you solve the problem? Do you play ancient jazz with exactly the same sound and accents (horrible) or do you use modern tricks (maybe kitsch)? Do you repeat note-by-note the original solos or do you play new improvised ones on top of the old arrangements? There have been various attempts: for instance, Lennie Niehaus' system in Clint Eastwood "Bird" to electronically remove ancient rhythm sections and superimpose Parker's solos on new rhythm sections (interesting but terrible). Tavernier with Dexter Gordon in "Round Midnight" skipped the problem and recorded new music.

In "Jazz '34", instead, we have a frech approach: that of letting modern jazzmen interpret those pieces. It is clear they pay their dues to the pioneers - the swing and freshness is there to testify this - but at the same time they are not shy about showing off their modern techniques and mastery of the overtones - especially tenor saxophonists, like Joshua Redman and James Carter, the latter being fond of mingling with the elders. Hence it is as if they had created musically a virtual, parallel Kansas City of 1934, which is distinct from the music of the time but claims the same validity.

Hence, also the re-created battle between Coleman Hawkins and Lester Young (Joshua Redman and James Carter, if not mistaken) on "Yeah, Man" has to be taken with a grain of salt: it's a fantasy, the ancient ones did not play that way, but the relationship between the two, to some degree, holds.

The music is fascinating and stands on its own and its quality is high enough to warrant the purchase of the movie. In addition we have Harry Belafonte's comments, interesting and pleasurable, and some shots of recreated Kansas City in 1934, which are simply fascinating, and from what I know look very authentic (no, I was not there, but Altman was).

5Called the "Olympics Of Jazz" by Variety
By Piggylou
Variety called this film the "Olympics of Jazz", and what games they were! Altman assembled the greatest players of today to portray the greatest players of the thirties. This film would not normally be allowed to be made, as the costs would be prohibitve for "just a Jazz film". But since it was shot as performance backgrounds for the feature "Kansas City", Altman was able to make what may well be the greatest Jazz film ever. I'm not saying this because of my involvement (co-producer, editor), but because after seeing the film perhaps two hundred times, I'll still put it on for friends, or just my own enjoyment.

5An Absolute Blast
By HiBall13
I agree with what the other two reviewers said, but I just thought I'd add some of the other musicians that I could think of who are on the movie. Saxophones- Redman, Carter, Craig Handy, David "Fathead" Newman, David Murray Clarinet- Don Byron Trumpet- Olu Dara, Nic Payton Bass- Ray Brown Piano- Geri Allen, Cyrus Chestnut Guitar- Mark Whitfield, Russel Malone These are only a few of the musicians, there's a bunch more and I apologize for not being able to think of the drummers or trombones. Anyways, I know that I always like knowing who is playing on what so I thought I'd pass on what I knew. I hope it was helpful.

5A decent cheap amp with reliable build quality
By 88pathoffroad
I bought this amp in around 2004 and have been using it to run one SVC 15" woofer. I'm installing it in a different car now to see how it runs one DVC 12. No complaints, really. It does the job it was intended to do. The price is about right for the brand name and build quality ($99). The remote bass control is handy (if you don't mind a cheesy chrome box cluttering up your interior), it lets me set the deck up with one set subwoofer level, then I don't have to try to poke fifteen buttons on the deck while I'm driving to adjust the bass for certain songs, I can just turn the dial up or down a bit.I had this amp hooked up to a bench testing set with a regulated power supply, a sub and an oscilloscope. It ran out 690 watts total (345 watts per bridged stereo channel, tested across both channels consecutively), nowhere near it's 1000 watt rating on paper, but still, a decent chunk of power for the money.

4A Plumbers Perspective
By Kevin G Bennett
I recently bought this saw to replace my Milwaukee Sawzall which has been giving me problems owing to the nature of my type of work, heavy duty sawing of cast iron pipes, etc. The main reason I bought the saw was because of its overall flexibility to adjust the head to many positions to enable me to cut pipes in many tight situations without the need for me to perform some of the contortions required to use existing reciprocating saws. This feature on the saw has proved to be all that was promised as far as it's flexibility to adjust too many positions. The power is really good and I particularly like the ability to regulate the speed with the squeeze of the trigger. However, there is one drawback I was not aware of, the vibration under load. When the saw is pressed to do heavy duty work there is a lot of vibration which is transferred to the operator and can prove to be quite uncomfortable when the saw is operating at full speed. Overall, I would recommend this saw because of its flexibility and power.

5Powerful and capable
By EMS Pilot
I got my new Tiger Claw for Christmas and immediately took it out in my shop and chopped up some 2"X 12" white oak joists from an old building deconstruction project. The saw has more than enough power to take the cut as fast as I could force the blade into the beam. It seems to be built for extreme action and is "hell for stout" as my dad used to say. The angled gear boxes are fairly easy to adjust once you get the hang of the rather smallish recessed release buttons. What I have noticed in the few times I have used it is that it does vibrate more than the Milwaukee 11 amp sawzall, so a pair of light leather gloves help dampen it when cutting. It is also heavier, i am assuming because of all the extra gearing. I wouldn't want to spend hours at a time working with it over my head. I am going to mainly use it to trim up and dimension said white oak planks for use in furniture projects. I have lots of nails in this old lumber that are too deeply imbedded to remove, so cutting on my table saw or with a circular saw are too dangerous and damaging to the blades until I get the metal contaminated sections cut out. Perfect job for a heavy sawzall. With being able to turn the blade 90 degrees to the body, I can pull it through the lumber like a big jig saw, thus reducing the effort and fatigue a regular sawzall would cause. Other than the higher level of vibration than the Milwaukee, the only other detraction I could come up with is that the adjustable shoe has too little adjustment. I would like to see at least two more notches added to the three it currently has. This would give more options for cutting thin materials and varying where the blade wears in use. Bottom line: After all the shopping and comparing I did, and finally getting my hands on it, I would definitely recommend this saw to anyone needing a really heavy duty and flexible sawzall.

5Wouldn't send a truck out without this saw
By Marc Brenner
The versatility of this multi angle saw cannot be compared. I have been in construction for 30 years and can say that there have been many difficult situations where we needed a saw like this. In tight spots, this saw can do it all. It is easy to adjust, plenty powerful, good quick-lock mechanisim.

We go through our share of recip. saws in the plumbing/heating business. They don't last forever and rarely are worth repairing when they can be bought for $140. But at around $200., this is no 'disposable' unit...so I reserve judgement on durability. We will probably use 'disposables' for open field cutting and demolition. But, I will never be without a TigerClaw again.

5What a cool gadget!
By A Customer
My Clie camera arrived today, after a long wait. What a cool thing it is! Install the software on your computer, sync it to the Clie, then pop the camera into the slot. First thing you see is yourself staring back at you! I can't believe it works that easily, but it does. Then it's just a matter of clicking to snap a shot. You can even press the jog dial to snap a photo. You can swivel the camera lens around the other way and the image gets flipped over too - it's just that smart! I plan on using this to snap pictures of my collectibles, associate them with the appropriate entry in my database of collectibles that I have in the Clie, so when I'm out on the road I know what I have and what I want. It's useful for that, and also for showing off to your friends!

1Does not work wtih Palm OS 5
By A Customer
The add should be clearer. I had High hopes on using this camera with my new Sony PEG TG-50 but after installing it, getting errors & going through 2 round of questions with Sony support I was told that the camera does not work with the Palm OS 5. A real disappointment for those who bought the TG-50 or are thinking about upgrading to the newest Palm OS.

2lack of quality
By A Customer
If you are looking for a Barbie house that is durable, I would strongly advise you to check out another house. This house is very flimsy, cheaply made and not worth the money. It comes with extremely small pieces. It is very hard to operate for small hands (larger hands also). If you are like me you spend a lot of money with Barbie, this certainly does not deserve a penny. Barbie does offer another 3 decker house, very sturdy, very well built and a much better choice.

3This toy will break!
By Trina Craig
I think this dollhouse is cute and bought it for my 3-year-old daughter so she could have a fairly compact house for her Barbies. However, after one afternoon of play I could tell the second floor of this house might eventually break. My daughter and her friend kept leaning on the second floor with their hands and the support structure does NOT appear to be strong enough to handle much weight---it kept on creaking like the plastic was going to snap! Also, the second floor did not stay connected to the side of the house as the design intends. I returned the dollhouse immediately!

5Worth the Price
By J. Muir
Last Christmas, my 6 year old daughter didn't put this item on her Christmas wish list. But, I would watch her play house with her Barbies day after day. I decided to go ahead and purchase it. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. Of all the toys she received last Christmas, she would play with this everyday - even after she got bored with her other top toys on her Christmas list. It takes a little long to set up (there are alot of stickers). What I like, as a parent, is that it is portable, light, and she is able to set up and put away without any help. It folds nicely for storage. I was so glad that I didn't buy one of the other bulky Barbie stand alone house or hotel. For the price, the Barbie Townhouse is worth it for hours of FUN!

5Christie has never been better!!
By Lissa C.
I love the bead n' beauty Christie doll. She is my daughters second favorite doll. Her first is dance and flex christie and her third is jewel girl christie. Well I bought this for my []for her birthday on January 15th and now it's almost august and she won't stop playing with her! She love's putting in regular doll clothes and putting the stickers on and it comes out so nice. The only bad part for my daughter is how hard it is to take off the stickers she messed up alot of them already so she has to ask me to do that and it's even difficult for me. I'm upset that we ran out of all of the beads but were supposed to get our refill in the mail soon, we bought it last week. Well anyway I think everyone who has a Christie loving daughter should buy her! GO CHRISTIE!!
