4Very Nice Hose Reel
By Stephen Speranza
I bought my hose reel from Lowes and it is identical to this one. It is solid built and made mostly of metal. The spring return works fabulous. To install it, you need to two guys and some strong bolts (4) to mount it on the wall. It can be mounted on the ceiling too if it is structurally sound. It comes with 50 feet of good quality rubber hose. If you install it properly, it is one very NICE tool. Certainly the best way to have "neat" hose accessibility.

5NS-AC40X
By Bret191
I picked up this speaker in a punch of other Yamaha specks. I hooked up this for my center, Yamaha RXV571 AV receiver and 1683 mains and JBL surrounds. The sound this puts out is very clear and easy to listen too. Nice volume and no distortion at very high levels. I haven't really dialed it in yet.

4Outstanding Design - Great Value - Just know the limitations
By A Customer
I got the Kyocera S4 back in January 2003. Great "unkown" digital camera. For anyone who is doubtful of the quality, you should know that Kyocera makes digital cameras for Toshiba, and they are the parent company of Yashica and Contax, two of the most respected names in photography.

The design of this camera is simply beautiful. Gorgeous gun-metal aluminum body, solid zoom lens with built-in cap, simple button and menu layout, and overall, a very durable camera.

As this was my first ditial camera, I quickly learned the limitations of the unit. Some of the limitations can be corrected through simple upgrades, namely, the 16MB SD card included with the unit is not adequate for most users. You should get a 64MB or 128MB card so you can save more than 80 shots at a time. In fact, with a 128MB SD card, you can shoot over 170 photos at high resolution. It might be all the storage you're going to need with a simple camera like this. Also, I recommend getting the deluxe leather case with belt-clip (available from Kyocera or other camera shops), as the pouch included with this camera will not provide enough protection - even for such a durable device.

This camera competes with the Canon Elph and other "credit card" sized cameras (the front of this camera is precisely the size of a credit or ATM card). And it competes with them very well. The resolution is incredible, and the optical zoom is rock-solid. However, using the digital zoom does result in a loss of resolution (which may not be known to first-time digital users). And this camera has useful manual exposure and CCD sensitivity seetings, but no true ISO or "traditional" shutter speed adjustment. Also, this camera does not perform well in low-light or in taking shots of fast-moving objects. As much as I have experimented with its settings, it is obvious that this camera cannot do what the high-end digital cameras can do in twilight settings outdoor and dim settings indoor. Even shots of hockey players on a brightly lit ice surface required precise manual adjustment (and a lot of patience). This is a camera for daytime landscapes and close-ups of people and objects. It cannot compete with digital SLR's or rangefinders costing twice as much (or more). But having said that, I believe it is better than the Cannon Elph, and most other digital cameras of the same size.

Battery life is not spectacular. If you use the flash for most shots, expect to re-charge the unit every 20-30 shots or so. I even got a spare battery, just to be sure I was never caught without a charge for the flash.

The Kyocera S4 fills an interesting gap between the anonymous entry-level devices and the high-end units. It's best feature might be that it packs 4 megapixels of resoultion into a form factor the size of a deck of playing cards. That alone is a huge advantage. Even worn on a belt, it is no more obtrusive than a cell phone. If you need a camera that can fit in your bag and always be available without getting in the way, or if you need a camera for building a web site, selling items online, or just getting into digital photography, this is the only camera you'll need.

Now that I am happy with the Kyocera S4, I am ready to take ditial photography to the next level, and I think that will be the Leica 1 Digital. It has many of the same features as the Kyocera S4, except that it has a larger LCD, a bigger lens (to let in more light), an ISO dial, and longer battery life. But I expect to get thousands of quality shots with the Kyocera S4 regardless. It is not just another point & shoot camera. It is a great value.

5Small, light & complete
By Helen G
The Kyocera Finecam S4 is a truly remarkable little point-and- shoot. I am a serious photographer, owner of high-end Canon film cameras and "L" lenses (not used since buying the Kyocera S4).

It is a point and shoot, rather than a professional camera, but the resolution is incredible, even at the lowest (normal) setting.

I have had no problems with battery life, although that is a common complaint (I use the onboard flash and LCD screen nearly all the time). It is packed with features (i.e. exposure compensation, manual override on just about everything, self-timer, red-eye reduction, etc.)

The color has been just phenomenal. I have had it for about three months and am extremely satisfied and am thinking about buying the S5 when it appears. I recommend getting at least a 64-meg. card, rather than the skimpy 16-meg card provided.

The LCD screen is hard to see during bright sun, but you have the option of using the viewfinder. In low light, there is a delay while device meters and focuses, but this is true of all cameras. It could mean missing the shot--but you don't have to wait for your film to come back to know you missed it. I am addicted to the instant feedback. It has made me a better photographer.

The video function is low-end, but basic. No audio, but if you want a video camera, buy one, rather than compromise a good digital still camera like this one. It is tiny and fits on a belt not unlike a beeper. I am never without my little companion and feel naked when it is not on my belt. For the convenience, the size and the features it is packed with, you can not do better in my opinion.

3really compact, good stills, but no audio!
By A Customer
This Kyocera S4 is a really compact little camera, with the great 4 MB resolution. The controls are pretty easy to use, but of course sometimes a little tough due to the small size. But in a high quality dig cam like this, i really wanted the ability to take good little video clips. The video clips on this cam 1) have NO AUDIO and 2) are very low resolution. For my money, I think I'll consider the Sony P9, Minolta F100, or Olympus D40. If all you need is stills, this is a great little cam.

5Great card for a fantastic price!....You can't beat this!
By Michael Stroud
What can I say about this card....it's fantastic. At first I was skeptical about the card being made by ATI and its performance but after really doing some hard core research decided to purchase this card. The card that I was comparing it with was the NVidia GeForce4 Ti4200. For one thing, the 8500LE is so much cheaper than the NVidia card but still offers the same fantastic performance. I absolutely could not believe how well this card ran for the little amount of money that I paid for it. Way to go ATI, maybe this and other ATI cards will start forcing more fierce competition and get NVidia to back down off their extreme pricing. This card was an excellent accent to my P4 2.26GHz 533MHz front-side-bus machine with 1GB DDR RAM and 80GB 7200 RPM drive. I love this card.......say hello to my little friend. This card proves that you do not have to have just an NVidia card to have a viable system that will let you play your favorite games and the games to come, such as UT2003. In addition, DVD playback was georgeous. You gotta get this card.....what a deal!, what a steal!

By Sarkis Karadanyan
Good solid product offered by ATI + Catalyst drivers suite make it an exceptional value. Overall it's better investement than any Nvidia based card and peak performance is reached through Intel Pentium 4 2.4B 533fsb + 845E Intel chipset. Do not couple this with VIA chipset.

4Nice Snowglobe
By T. Church
Not the most popular of characters, Aquaman is still cool. Those who prefer the classic Aquaman, should enjoy this sculpt. The third and 6th or 7th in a series of snowglobes.A nice design, this is a near flawless snwglobe.Actually, there's really only one flaw in this entire snowglobe. It's a limited edition snowglobe. However, DC Direct decided to increase the production number, by rereleasing this snowglobe. Thanks for nothing, DC.D.Bottome Line. If you like Aquaman, you'll love this globe. If youre looking to buy it "for later on", forget it.The Good: Classic Aquaman, on his throne. Nice design. The Bad: A rereleasing of the same snowglobe just increased the number made, and, unless there's a good distinctive marking, it will be difficult to demonstrate which version it is.Thanks a lot, DC. 4Nice camcorder
By Roger
I purchased this camera not to long ago so I'm still new to it. Video is pretty good and adjusts to light well. Optical zoom (10x) is nice, but digital does degrade video as with all cameras. I'm happy with still pictures and found out I had set resolution to the third highest level. I will be even happier to see the ones I take on highest level. I bought a few extra memory cards so I can continue taking pictures. 16mb that comes with camera is nice to begin with, but some space is taken up with special effects (sounds). As with most cameras, I'll be checking into extra battery. S-video in and out can be a nice feature seeing I'll be putting home video onto dvd or cvd. Viewer screen is nice size for reviewing and showing pictures or video. Loaded with features that I haven't had a chance to use yet, and you can put camera into total manual and manual focus for videoing far away with other things moving in front where autofocus would be trying to compensate. Onscreen controls are easy to use. DV port to sony laptop took some time to get to work, but heard of alot of people having problems with this with other cameras and computers. Happy so far.

5Still A Great SD Camcorder
By Charles
I finally went HD last year, but my old JVC workhorse is hard to let go of, and I still have it. It's a great wedding cam with its 1-lux low light rating. I pretty much never had to use gain for anything ever. I have shots of the moon and stars with no gain that are breathtaking. No, it doesn't have optical image stabilization, but by the time this cam came out, electronic stabilization had gotten just as good. The only flaw this cam has (and every cam seems to have at least a couple of things it could do better) is that the auto-focus could be a bit quicker in a run & gun situation. I have gotten some vignetting on really sharp edges such as guitar strings, but that's fairly common with SD interlaced cams. Overall the images this things shoots are incredible. It also mimics film quite well in digital wide mode. It's a very sturdy model too. I've never dropped mine, but I get the feeling it would take quite a fall to break this thing. It doesn't have XLR inputs, but when this cam came out, those were only found on cams costing $3,000 and up. The internal stereo mic is quite good though, especially outdoors. That's one of the reasons I've kept the cam so long. I've used it to record nature sounds for my sound collection for several years. It does a better job than any of my other mics, and I've been doing sound engineering work since the 80s. At the prices these cams go for on the used market, a guy could do a whole lot worse than a JVC GR DV-3000.

Camera will not work for extended time when going from air conditioned area to high humidity (as on ships deck in the Carib.) Tape gets stuck quite a bit and gets frustrating also! (I assume same reason) Great filming otherwise.

4This is fun!
By A Customer
My husband and I bought this system after reading the positive review on the product (and especially the SAT test prep module) in the Wall Street Journal. Our 7th grade son is prepping for the SAT to qualify for the Duke Talent Identification Program (especially the neat summer camps). Our son is actually using the program and thinks it is "neat and fun", he likes the way he gets feedback on his responses. The question modules are short enough to keep him interested throughout the whole section, and he will pick this up on his own to use. We are pleased with the product and will buy additional modules as they become available.

This is great for studing for the SAT. It requires the iQuest though. Both the book and iQuest work together. There are a few pactice tests. When you finish you can use the iQuest to check your answers. If you are studing for the SAT/PSAT or ACT you should buy this.
