5Excellent
By Kaiser
I bought a pair of these speakers at Goodwill for $10 and hooked them up to a very cheap Emerson radio/cd player. I've never heard my Houston radio sound so good. Same with my CDs. What I thought was a crummy cheap radio is now an awesome player. Would recommend to everyone I know. Even though they are "old" and aren't made anymore, they work better than most other speakers in $150 or less price range. Don't let the age convince you other wise. Go with this set. They will change your life.

5This is the Best!
By Barry W. Willis
I've owned this mouse over five years now and swear by it. My kids looked at me funny when I bought it and started using it but at least they've left me alone with it! This many years later I'm amazed at its durability and ease of maintenance. There is none! The 'Trackball' pops right out so you can 'shine' it to remove the inevitable skin oil from your hands, and any other junk that collects on it. The recess that holds the ball has three steel ball bearings that actually hold the ball and they collect various bits and pieces of dead skin and whatnot from time to time, but a fingernail or pencil eraser is all that is needed to restore the ball's movement to 'spaceship' precision. The 'wired' configuration has never bothered me because being an optical it never has to physically 'move' like a regular mouse that must move around. This was my main concern when I bought it because I'd just had shoulder surgery on my Right arm and found it painful to even horse around a regular mouse. And, since it is also a Five-Button there is absolutely no need to ever move the mouse. Why anyone would consider a regular mouse over this one is beyond me. I might add that though this is advertised as a Premium 'Gaming' mouse I've never used it for that purpose because I'm not a gamer, per se.Would I highly recommend this mouse? A thousand times 'Yes', though it seems a little expensive. I didn't pay nearly this much for mine when I bought it, but that's the 'Market', I guess!Oh, yes. I also bought a 'Logitech' knock-off some time later to use on another PC but it just wasn't the same. The quality was on a par with this one, but it required the use of one's index finger to 'work' the trackball instead of the Thumb. I couldn't make the transition from Thumb to Index finger so I gave it to my grown son who loves it. I've since learned that Logitech also makes a 'Thumb operated' trackball similar to this one but I've never actually used one; some reviewers seemed to like it. That Logitech item is wireless, however, and there seemed to be some issues with the size of the receiving unit on the computer body. Both these units seem to be made for 'Right Hand' use only. I haven't seen any reference to Left Hand versions though they could possibly exist. A Left Handed person would have to adjust to these Right Hand units unless I've missed something. These Mice would be extremely difficult to operate with anyone's Left Hand, in my opinion.Written by Barry Willis, dutiful husband of Ruth S. Willis.

4One of the best trackballs ever made
By Silicon Surfer
I hesitated at first all those years ago when I first saw this design in a shop.Still, I bought it for an off-site job who had pitiful mice on their PCs and I had to have something decent.Ten years later I am still using one ! It's that good, not just for everyday workbut also for gaming (the loss in precision as compared to the best optical mouse is tiny).Truly an amazing design, incredibly useful (five buttons, I have the third/fourth on copy/paste, it speeds my up my productivity like nothing else can) and comfortable. You will never get RSI wrist injury using this. Why Microsoft took it out of production is a mystery, but if they had common sense I think we would have noticed by now.The current price is a reflection of it's very real worth. The first generation of this item is actually even better quality-wise as it almost never needed to be cleaned. The second one I bought because one of the bearings had popped out during cleaning had lower quality manufacture (always haggling for cheaper components is not a good idea...). Nevertheless an awesome trackball that remains one the best ever made IMO with the other optical trackball Microsoft made with a larger forward inclined ball.Logitech have made variations on these designs so all is not lost for those witha tight budget. I do not know if the quality is as good as these however.Let's hope someone at MS notices the big mistake in stopping production of thesegreat tools.

4Old, yes. But an antique? nope.
By James HS
After using a trackball at work, I was inspired to buy one of these well over a decade ago.The trackball continued reliable and, most importantly, easy to use, through several incarnations of Windows without any compatibility issues (after all, it is a Microsoft product). The programmable buttons were a cinch to set up for different applications, and I had no problem at all using it for web browsing, office applications, or audio editing. For graphics, though, I would have chosen a tablet with pen... but couldn't justify the expense of the one I wanted (over $500.00).So I stayed with the trackball. The only nag I had was that the ball would lose its free rotation and eventually stick. The cause was the build-up of assorted detritus on the small bearings. A stiff toothbrush did the trick, followed by aerosol to clear out the dust. The ball occasionally needed cleaning, but a wipe with a non-stick silicone wipe restored it to perfection.Over the years I must have put in tens of thousands of hours of use but I never experienced RSI or physio problems from it. Once, I considered buying a standby... left it too late, for Microsoft had taken it off their catalog. Now, I wish I had, for recently it finally gave up the ghost. The fault lay with the cable; it had flexed one time too many and either one of the conductors inside it, or the connection to the circuit board inside the trackball, was shorting intermittently. At the time, I could find no repair or replacement parts worth considering. So now, I'm making do tolerably well.Would I buy another one? Yes, if the price was right.Sadly its reputation has forced up the price to ridiculous levels. Likewise all Microsoft Trackballs, apparently. One of these ** Brand New ** might be worth up to $100 (going on 5 times the original price) at a pinch, but certainly no higher than that. It's not a fine example of folk art or early 20th century American impressionist. Its value is in practicality, not in rarity.I have no idea why Microsoft took it off the product list ... but the company has not been noted for an abundance of common sense. There are other trackballs on the market that are good substitutes for this model and probably don't have the same sticky problem.Logitech has several excellent alternatives and the price is still, umm, right at between $21 and $50. Go for one of those unless you are like Microsoft (more dollars than cents....)Four stars because of the stickiness. Value for money = 1, because the system does not allow Zero.

The panhandle is long enough to give excellent leverage for smooth panning. There is a bubble level built into the base of the head, so the tripod can be leveled quickly after being set up. Just loosen and tighten leg lock knob to extend or shorten them. Three position leg locks make for easy set up on uneven ground or steps. 5Very Smooth Panning and Tilt
By Karl W. Weaver
I bought many tripods before I found this Silk SLIK 504 QF-II. I use it with my Cannon HF 200 Video Camera doing weddings, Community Theater and recitals. I enjoy the hollow grip in which I put my index finger in and can pan or tilt with just the pressure of my finger. I also like the twist locking mechanism on the legs, which will not move like the other clip-lock tripods. I highly recommend this tripod. I will be purchasing another one in the near future for my other video camera.

5video tripod that feels like a more expensive model
By Lucy Lopez
after looking for days and reading customer reviews on many well known sites,I found this model.I own 2 promaster tripods that are not the design I was looking for when I bought them, but I had to settle for them back then.it's heavy enough to hold a camcorder and a video light on top. It's smooth and dont' jerk like my other 2.Plus the handle is not the type that locks the up and down motion.(I hate those,it caused the camcorder to drop downward when I forgot to lock the handle).A model like this cost more than $200,and I'm happy with this model. Is doesn't feel cheap, does not look cheap.I don't like skinny legs on a tripod or to be lightweight.Like somebody said:if you are going to use a tripod a lot, better find a good one.

5Happy with this product
By mikeskor
This tripod feels and looks like quality. It is slightly on the heavy side to act as a travel tripod but it needs to be to provide the stability that it does. At first it appeared slightly long to fit into my High Sierra 22 inch carry-on bag which I like to take on plane trips to avoid long waits for checked-in baggage. But I found that if I remove the rubber stopper (it is designed to be removable) and take out the center column completely, I can fit the the tripod into the bag on the diagonal. I was very happy to discover this. A happy purchase.

4Home Theater Powerhouse
By Winston Rogers
I bought my PJ1060 for a home theatre setup. The 2000 lumen projection is more than adequate for daytime viewing of a 100" diagonal DA-Lite screen (projection distance ~15'). With inversion and keystoning features, I was able to mount the projector upside down from the ceiling using a third party mounting kit. Since I have a TV-tuner card (ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon) in my computer, I watch TV in 1024 x 768 resolution RGB mode, as opposed to Video mode. The quality is super. Projection of PC DVD movies is even better. I have had my projector for a year now without problems, operating it on average, several hours a day . I have not had to replace the bulb yet. The only reason I'm not giving the projector 5 stars, is that it does not support 1280x1024 non-interlaced. However, in my opinion, the price/performance ratio is excellent.

5Works Like a Charm!
By CB
I bought this typewriter for my Executive Assistant, when her old Brother typewriter broke down. She really likes it - she still has to type bills of lading via typewriter (we are technologically sound otherwise!), and she sometimes isn't given much notice by the owners when she has to type up 10 or 12 of the bills of lading in a big hurry. This typewriter has it all, is easy to figure out right out of the box, and is relatively quiet when it's operating. DON'T FORGET TO GET THE 3.5" FLOPPY DISK DRIVE!! It plugs into your computer and allows you to input all the data you need for whatever project you are doing, it retains formatting, etc., so when you put your sheet of paper or bill of lading in the typewriter, you only have to hit a couple of buttons, and the typewriter types it all for you (read - mostly hands OFF!) It has been a Godsend - I couldn't find anything else that did what the Assistant needed & feel lucky to have found this! Great product, fast service. A+++

5If You Need a Typewriter, This is IT!
By Grandma Ruth
This typewriter replaces our old Brother machine which was quite similar and worked flawlessly for many years. It has a few new additions, particularly the disk memory which is great! I only gave it 4 stars for ease of use because there seems to be a lot to learn for someone unfamiliar with Brother typewriters, but for our office, switching over to the new machine was a cinch.

5Designers Dream
By Dr.Design
I own 2 of these p815 monitors and they are fantastic!!I am a High End Graphic Designer and do about 60 hours of worka week on these monitors. I Run both monitors on a Matrox G400Dual head and they work like a charm for my design work, theColors are so clear and perfect it is amazing! I have hadSony and NEC monitors and nothing compares to the color ofthese Viewsonic P815's. I have seen people state problemsat 1600 resolution with text... All I have to say is you mightwant to check your video card or your cables because it isnot the monitors. I can view text and images with out any blurat 1600 res. it is actually crystal clear. How can you not likethis monitor.. 96hz @ 1600 res. .25 dot pitch on a 21" monitorwith a flat screen! that is just amazing for a 21" monitor. When you buy viewsonic p815 your getting an outstanding visualquality monitor in all aspects.

5Big Monitors require Better than Average Video Cards !!!
By Dominic
Hi, I am a Tax & Investment Professional and Investment Advisor and I utilize the Viewsonic P815 for viewing level II split screen streaming stock quotes; tax preparation and preparing taxes on Windows-based tax preparation software. I have also used this monitor when reviewing and analyzing tax preparation software which allows you to view 2 pages of tax documents in the same viewing screen on the same page view...no problems in clarity here of the numbers or letters in any mode or pixel view. (...)The Viewsonic is comparable with any SONY @ any resolution including 1600x1200;what is required is a better than average video card. At the time he wrote his review way back in year 2000 there were very few 64MB video cards on the market. As I recall only Diamond Viper and Nvidea had one of the retail ones and all the rest were high end professional products. Now in year 2001 every company on the market has a 64MB video card and there are even some 128 MB video cards out here too. I suggest using at least a 64MB Video Card with this product which is as it says a "professional monitor". Professional monitors do require a better than avergage video card for superior perfomance. By the way, this monitor series by Viewsonic will allow you to work 12-14 hour days without eye strain of any type. Now this monitor is very BIG in size, so if your desk space is at a premium I would suggest you opt for one of the new flat panel LCD 17" or 18" monitors. But if you seek a quality large screen monitor and don't mind it taking up at least 25 " of desk space then this IS the monitor for you. This is my 3rd Viewsonic purchase this year; I bought my 75 year old mother a 19" one and I have one in my second office.I am very pleased with the quality of their products. Just make sure you spend good money and get a quality video card to match your monitor purchase. (I have been using computer monitors for work in excess of 20 years now.)

5The better back up power for my home
By Olwing Ponce Garay
I installed 2 of this beautiful machines on my home and i'm very satisfied in power outage may works for more than 24 hours if i use only lights, surely you need more batteries for make it work for that amount of time i have 9 batteries of 80 amps for each inverter and works smoothly, i highly recommend this product since it protect all things of low voltage andd over voltage, i have mines since 2 years and never fails, only bad thing is that some appliance articles like satellite receivers, motion detection lamps and some desktop pc sometimes turns off because the 20ms transfer time is not enough for this devices, but 98% of my devices connected works like a charm. and the remote control let you see how the battery is draining, usually i see my lcd tv for 3 hours before battery gets the 70% of 100%, and the tv is connected with satellite receiver, dvd, sound system, and lights of home, so i think this is a very useful inverter for any appliances on home.even i'm able to use microwave oven since it supports 3,600 watts continous, so it mean 6 KVA. hardwire is relly required for batteries specially.

5Great backup
By Arturas Grazulis
I used it to create back-up for my basement sump pumps (3 pumps with 30Amps total power). Connected with 3 110 Ah Farm and fleet deep cycle batteries. Works perfectly and able to handle full load for significant amount of time. Consider connecting basement freezers and refrigerators to it as well and probably servers. Why to pay for useless 12 V backup pumps (they handle max 2000gal/h each), when you can connect your regular pumps through this charger/converter.

5Excellent printer for the price!
By A Customer
I bought this printer as a color replacement for my black and white LaserJet. I was attracted by the 2880dpi resolution & claims of photo quality prints and laser-like black text. I was not disappointed. When used with quality inkjet paper, the printer performs as promised. Photographic results are amazing when glossy paper is used. These things are not so outstanding in the higher end printer market, but considering the slim price tag, this printer is extraordinary. Added features that I found useful are ink level monitoring and print area expansion. The USB connection option is very convenient as well. If you decide to purchase this printer, be sure to pick up a cable, as one is NOT included.

5Great printer, amazing price
By A Customer
Any computers or periphials are usually as good as their cost. You get what you pay for... except in this case. There is absolutely NO printer that prints this good at such a low price. The quality on glossy paper is identical to a photo. I bought a digital cam, and thanks to the Stylus 880, I can use it to produce perfect photos. I never have to buy film again, only glossy paper and ink occasionaly, which will not cost nearly as much as film and developement. It is not just the quality that wowed me, though, it was the speed also. If you are just printing a paper or anything with text only, the 880 will spit it out in about 5 seconds. A 5 X 7 full color photo quality printout takes around a minute. And it is all done without disturbing a soul, since this is also one of the quietest printers out there. It has it all. Quality, speed, and it is quiet. In addition, Epson's ink cartridges are very competitively priced compared to those of their rival companies. And you know when you need to buy ink, because every time you print a page, a bar graph shows you exactly how much ink you have left, therefore you will never be caught needing ink in an emergency. Don't waste your money on slower and louder printers that have less quality and make more noise, buy an 880. Whether you have a digital cam or a scanner and want to make GREAT photos, or if you just want a quiet printer to print websites and documents, the 880 is a hit. Also, another printer that has the same quality and costs even less is the Epson Stylus 777. The only difference between the 880 and 777 is that the 777 is slower and much noisier. Either way, you are getting a phenomenal printer at an outstanding price. This is one of the few periphials where you don't get what you pay for. You get a lot more.

5Awesome printer!
By Thomas Anderson
I bought the Epson 880 to replace an Epson 440. The 440 printed at 720x360 dpi was relatively slow and somewhat loud. The 880 is without a doubt an awesome printer. It is both fast and quiet. The printer can print in all dpi ranges from 360 all the way to 2880. However, 1440 is plenty sharp. 2880 is almost overkill, not to mention the amount of ink used. It spits out pages of black text in nothing flat. Print those term papers in a matter of a minute or two.

I printed a composite photograph of the Earth at Night (http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap001127.html) showing how the world is lit up on clear nights. The printed image is sharper than what it looked like on-screen! And that was only at 1440 dpi!

I shopped for an Epson printer because I was hoping to keep the same printer software. Well of course the 880 included updated software, but it worked about the same as the 440's so I was very satisfied with the supporting software.

You need to update the description. It's 1 (one) stand, not a pair, for that price. Please correct Pedestals to Pedestal. I had to order another one from JR'S.

3Sturdy but expensive
By A Customer
These stands are made up of rolled steel sheet and have welded reinforcements inside. Mine are made in Canada, yours may or may not. The design is very 70's and the base, while sufficient, isn't really wide enough to keep the top-heavy 901's from tipping over easily if you place them on thick carpeting. Routing wire through the stands takes some effort, and can be very difficult if you are using large gauge speaker wire. Attachment to the speakers is by four simple wood screws, and you have to remove the screws to get at the 901 wire mounting plate. The stands don't have any internal dampening or felt pads at the base. Vibration could be transmitted and sliding it around on a wood floor could damage your floor. Strangest of all, there's no access hole for the speaker wire to exit. Unless you drill your own, your wire will be crushed underneath the base. Probably not a big deal on carpet, but on hard floors its an omission that you will notice.

3Misled by Amazon
By D. Donovan
I should preface this review by saying that my issue is with Amazon and their reseller J&R Music and Computer World and not with the product itself. As of 1/13/09, the advertised price of the "Bose 901 Speaker Pedestals-Black" was $64.00. The $64.00 price is highlighted in red and shows to be a savings of 60% over the normal slashed price of $159.00. Shipping from J&R is $13.00. The item description under "Technical Details" clearly states "Pair of stands".I placed an order on 1/13. The shipping invoice from J&R was sent on 1/14 and states "sold individually". I imediately called Amazon to verify whether I should receive a single stand or a pair. Amazon immediately said its not their mistake and gave me the 800 number for J&R. A phone call to J&R also reveiled that it's not their mistake either. So, whose mistake is it exactly? Mine for ordering it in the first place apparently. J&R did offer a small discount on a second stand so I will hopefully have two stands when all is said and done but as of 1/17/09, after pointing out the mistake to both parties, the advertised price still says $64.00 for a "pair of stands". Shame on you Amazon. Buyer Beware.P.S. I like the stands.

5It really IS that good - though not quite that fast . . .
By Patience S. Brooks
I'd been looking for an affordable color printer for some time. It had to be Ethernet-capable, and almost certainly had to be an inkjet, since color lasers are way out of my price range. After briefly using an Epson 900N last year, I decided to look at Epson's newest networkable color inkjet. Though it was ordered before Halloween 2000, it didn't arrive until after Valentine's Day 2001 - but was it ever worth the wait! While it isn't as fast as the specs claim (what printer really is?), it is the fastest inkjet with decent output that I've ever used. The color quality, especially using the MacOS's ColorSync options with Epson's driver, rivals or even surpasses that of our Tek Phaser 550. The dreaded inket streaking effect, often seen on gradients, is minimal. The biggest surprise was ink usage - while the replacement cartridges are more expensive than other Epson supplies, the page-output per cartridge is much improved. Since I don't print full-bleed proofs very often, I can't say exactly how good the page-count-per-cartridge will be, but it's definitely better than the older 900N, or any other Epson that I've ever used. You can hook the Epson 980N up to a Mac, PC, or any computer with Ethernet connectivity, even SGIs or Unix boxes (it's IP-addressable. too) and you'll be well pleased with the results.

5Very satisfied with this printer
By Michael Saletta
It took me a while to find the printer I was looking for, but this printer made it all worthwhile. I use it on my network extensively and it works with all my OS's flawlessly (Win98, WinNT4, Win2000 Pro, Win2000 Server), which is the reason I chose Epson over HP. The only cons to this printer are that it is a little noisy and the color cartridge gets clogged every once in a while...although the software helped me diagnose and fix the clogging problem with little effort. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this printer and would definitely choose it again if given the opportunity.

5Met all my expectations and then some
By V. DeMiero
I struggled to make a final decision on a printer for my home office and finally decided on the Epson 980N. I couldn't be happier.Since I have set up a networked environment at home, I really wanted a printer that had decent networking abilities. I soon discovered that I was pretty limited in terms of cost and color capabilities if I was intent on getting a printer with an Ethernet card. The Epson 980N satisfied all my requirements and has performed very, very well during the past seven months with lots of use - and I mean LOTS of use. I have printed everything from quick black-and-white text drafts to picture-perfect color 8x10s. My only complaint is that the original Epson consumables are quite expensive, and the two times that I have tried off-brand ink cartridges I have been deeply disapointed with the quality. If you want a great network-capable inkjet printer that produces incredible photo-quality output as well as incredibly fast draft output, then the 980N is a solid choice. And, by the way, I primarily use Macintosh computers with this printer, but have easily printed from my Windows laptop as well as from OS 9 and OS X systems.

5Wireless Microphones: Audio-Technica ATR288W Review
By Marc C David
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RVO7KIF2HZ5GY If you are in the market for a wireless microphone setup for your video camera and like me, you don't want to spend top dollar. You may like the budget friendly Audio Technica Pro 88W/T setup. Listen in to the sound quality and judge for yourself.Comes with connectors that are compatible with most major cameras. 9v battery for the transmitter and receiver. I found no issues getting it to work with my Canon ZR-70. For practical purposes, the sound quality was as good as anything I've seen produced on the web where I know the audio equipment being used is of much higher caliber. This device seemed to hold its own and do a very good job providing close, crisp audio in a situation where it would be nice to roam free. The distance was not tested. I did not go 300 yards out to see how far it would go. Most videos I've done are in close proximity to the camera but would be detrimental without some kind of on-person audio setup. Having a wireless option makes this possible and enhances the video without providing so many features that is otherwise overkill for the task at hand.I'm positive on this review as I found the setup easy and the audio quality to be very good without any noticeablestatic or interference.Audio-Technica ATR288W Wireless Microphone System (Includes ATR35s, ATR20)

5Exceptional Quality
By Michael Casebolt
Let me first say, I only give reviews for products that, in my opinion, are of exceptional quality. That being said, after receiving my Audio-Technica ATR288W Wireless Microphone System and putting it through various tests, I found the sound quality to be excellent. I have a Canon HV20 camcorder that has an extremely quiet motor. But, when making recordings (using the camcorder's built-in microphone) that had either low or no background sounds, I could hear the camcorder's motor when I played them back. The solution was to use an external microphone. When I connected the Audio-Technica ATR288W Wireless microphone system to my camcorder and made a recording with no background noise and played it back I was impressed. I did not detect any unwanted sounds, not even hissing sounds. All I heard was clean high fidelity sound!

2Overpriced for what you get
By Makoto Schoppert
There are a few problems that I've encountered with this unit.First off, the handheld mic is useless. If you hold it in your hand, it picks up all the noise from holding it in your hand. Give it a little squeeze, and the mic picks it up, or even slide it around in your hand, it gets picked up. The windscreen on the clip-on mic comes off very easily. As far as the transmitter/receiver, the transmitter has no dedicated antenna, it uses the mic cord as an antenna. It can be staticy at times, even in close proximity. If you're monitoring the audio with headphones, make sure that you don't turn off the transmitter while you have the headphones on, otherwise you will hear VERY LOUD static. This is also an outdated produt. The product box shows a VHS camcorder, and the manuals were printed in 1997, so I guess it's been in the box for about 11 years. If you need a cheap wireless lavalier, this can get you started, however, I think it's worth more like $35. If you have the money, spend it on a Sennheiser setup instead.
