5ShingleShark
By Marlowe Paul
I have had the ShingleShark for about two months, most of the shingle jobs that we do are with laminated shingles (shakes),cutting them with a utility knife took forever, and you were always changing blades, with the shark just a push of the handle and you are done. For cutting starters it can't be beat. I found nothing wrong with the ShingleShark. I found it to be a time saver, I would not be without, one a good investment.

3SHINGLE SHARK
By KEVIN SCHAUER
THE SHINGLE SHARK WORKS GREAT WHEN ITS NEW. BUT NOW AFTER USING IT TO HELP ME INSTALL ABOUT 300 SQ THE FIXED BLADE IS NO LONGER STRAIGHT BUT HAS A CURVE WORN IN IT WHERE IT GETS THE MOST USE. FOR WHAT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE THING THEY SHOULD MAKE THE BLADES CHANGABLE.

5Time and money saver
By M. D. Bakker
I used this shingle cutter or shear to cut heavy laminated shingles. If you have ever tried to cut these when they wear cold, you will know what I'm talking about. If you do alot of shingling this is a must have tool.Like any other tool,if it is taken care of and adjusted from time to time it will last forever. If you ever needed a new blade,a machine shop could make one easy enough. It was worth the money.

Dale Adams Enterprises 6031 The B1 Mechanics Creeper Product Description:

  • Easy rolling 5-Inch polymer tires
  • Smooth 1-piece molding
  • 4-bolt mounting system
  • 1-Inch ground clearance
  • 47-by-25-1/2-by-6-1/4-Inch at 18-Pound; backed by limited lifetime on the wheels and 1-year warranty on the body

Product Description

The 100-percent American Bone creeper features a uniquely shaped body which cradles the user between the wheels only 1-3/4-Inch above the ground. The big, easy rolling outboard mounted wheels provide a strong, stable working platform that can't tip or flip the user. The rib-reinforced body is molded of a state-of-the-art co-polymer that resists the effects of common solvents, making cleaning is quick and easy! The smooth, comfortable one-piece design has no cracks, corners or other pinch points; no more clothes caught in wheels! The Bone body is a patented design which allows the use of large diameter wheels with specially formulated tires that roll easily over all sorts of obstacles, including rough floors, drop cords and air lines, loose parts and even tools and floor grates. The wheels are fastened to the creeper by four 5/16-Inch diameter through bolts which won't tear out or break off in any common use situation. One of the most important features of the Bone is its wheels. Ordinary creeper wheels are a conventional creeper's weakest point. They're too small, so they get hung up or stopped by even the tiniest obstacles, and they have a real knack for tearing out or breaking off at the worst moment. To add insult to injury, the replacement wheels can cost almost as much as a new creeper. The Bone has custom-molded, 5-1/8-Inch diameter wheels with oil-impregnated center bearings and specially formulated, molded-in-place 1-Inch wide tires that roll easily and last for years. The heavy American made cad-plated steel caster frames have dual race ball bearing swivels. In addition, the winged design adds form to function. The Bone is 47-Inch long, 25-1/2-Inch wide, has about 1-3/4-Inch ground clearance and weighs 18-Pound. The wheels have a limited warranty for the life of the creeper (against manufacturer defects), and the body carries a limited one-year warranty.

3smooth and comfortable
By george mccall
Built a new garage last year with a super smooth concrete floor but the creeper I've been trying to use kept getting hung-up on even the smallest of pebbles or gravel that may be on the floor. I usually ended up using cardboard cause the creeper was more trouble than what is was worth and I ended up on the floor anyway. I'm very happy with the smooth operation of "The Bone" it goes in the direction you want to go and is quite comfortable to work off of. The ad claimed you could roll over cords, tools and parts, I tried this but was unsuccessful it got hung-up, so you probably want to stick with a smooth obsticle free surface. The creeper is somewhat hard to get on and off of because of its odd shape, but I understand that to mount a five inch wheel at each corner it would have to be shaped as is. For what I need this creeper for it will serve me nicely but don't plan on using it on gravel floors or on dirt, you'll probably be disappointed plus the price is about double what it should be.

5Quality to the bone, Satisfied customer
By Gary Jones
Have owned several different brands of creepers over the years.I recently purchased The Bone 6301 and believe it is by far the best.I use it primarily on concrete and asphalt floors. It rolls over loose pebbles, gravel, extension cords, and other small debri that has always stopped my other creepers. It is low to the ground and rock solid. It is comfortable and easy to get on and off of despite it's appearance.I would highly recommend The Bone to any one looking to purchase a quality well designed creeper that does what the manufacturer says it will do.I could have purchased another small wheeled creeper but i'm glad I spent a few extra dollars and got The Bone!!

5What a creeper should be.
By Frankie
I have had several creepers over the years and frankly hated every one of them to the point of just getting rid of them. Seemed like the smallest obstruction would stop the creeper....a small pebble, crack in the pavement, the cord from a trouble light, etc. And since we all don't have glassy-smooth epoxy coated floors, typical creepers just didn't work well.I decided to try this one because I knew it would be really low to the ground, light weight, and had really tall wheels for rolling over small obstructions. Well it is awesome. I totally love it. They really meant it when they said it will roll over an extension cord....I can't believe it, but it really does. The action of the casters is really smooth too....turns and maneuvers really easily. My build...I am 6'2" and about 200 lbs. I fit the creeper really well, and it is really comfortable.Upgrades....I added some fender washers under the bolts, when assembling the wheels to the body of the creeper, just to provide some added stability for the bolts. Probably not required, but I am rather particular and thought this would make it a little stronger.

5love it love it love it !!!
By Toolpig
I've been waiting years for this nailer to come out. While waiting I have bought and used several other 2" brad nailers. Not one compared very well against Senco's brad nailer, The SLP 20. It operates so much more smoothly , it isn't even funny. The oil-less design was revolutionary. Not only is it more convenient, it saves your work from oil stains. Still, I knew that Senco would one day produce a 2" brad nailer of their own. I also knew it would be the very best. I have to say ,it was worth the wait. Everything about it says quality. It carries all the best from the SLP 20 and improves on it. From the first brad you drive you will know just how good it is. Sooo smooth. No kick back like the other guns. Sooo powerful. You will never wonder if it's going to sink the nail. The adjustable depth of drive and exhaust are the icing on the cake. I also like the rubbery grip. It's very nice to hold. I have had no jams but if you ever do , they are easy to clear. Top it off with a hard to lose no mar tip and the ability to drive 2 1/8" brads and you have the best brad nailer at any price , bar none. Plus it's made in the U.S.A. all for just a few more dollars than the "cheapies". My imports are now for sale.

4Vrey good brad nailer
By gary wallner
I bought the Senco 25 brad nailer last week. The decision between the Porter Cable and the Senco was difficult, I finally based the purchased on the wider range of brad lengths for the Senco and the oil less design . I have used them both and operation between the two is very similar. The Senco is [$] more and can't shoot into tight spots like the Porter Cable can due to the location of the safety nose.I did like the better construction of the Porter Cable, its part steel and part fiber resin, it appeared to be more durable, the no-mar tip is especially nice, and its very easy to see where you are shooting . The Senco is constructed almost totally of fiber resin materials and I wonder how well it will hold up to being dropped. The Senco power boast it awkward to use,the no-mar tip is too flexible and line of sight for shooting takes some getting use to. Either gun is good, the oil less feature is nice if you tend to to over oil your tools like I do.If your on a budget go with the Porter Cable.

5Tough, Versitile Nailer, Easy to Use
By Al the Pal
I have used other brands that were borrowed or rented. When it came time to buy, I picked the Senco above all the rest (toolpig's review was very helpful, thanks!).

The main frame (gray part) is heavy aluminum which keeps the weight to a minimum, lowering fatigue. The top head is carbon fiber, like the stuff they built the Beech "Starship" out of, very durable and strong. The adjustable exhaust vent lets you rotate the blast of air 360° to a convenient direction. The nail magazine opens with a large, easy to operate latch, loading the nails from the side. There are grooves for each size nail head to keep them on track and prevent jams.

I found this very easy to operate and adjust. You do need to keep firm, but not heavy, pressure on the foot to prevent recoil and keep your results consistent. The countersink function is clearly labeled and adjusts easily with a few test shots. The no-mar foot is soft but tough plastic that does its job well - I have never left a dimple after thousands of nails. The oiless design means no drips or spray on your projects, and no maintenance other than blowing the dust off once in a while. If it ever needs an overhaul, they make a kit which is about a half-hour job to install.

The only near complaints I have are: it is tough or impossible to use inside tight casework due to its over 8" height and the 18 gauge nails tend to deflect easily if they hit knots or other dense bodies in wood. I have found that extra diligence pays off when nailing into plywood edges; be sure the gun is absolutely perpendicular to the work, a hard glue layer will deflect these nails!

It comes in a nice plastic case that also has room for one box of nails. You will have to add your own 1/4" male coupler plug - I use Milton "M-Type" ... Overall, this is another fantastic product from an industry leader - your tool and the U.S.A. company that made it should be around for a long, long time.

51000 Stars Plus
By Bob Feeser
I am blown away by this device. I first tried the free download from the Calculated Industries web site. ... It is a full blown version, without any restrictions, but stops working after 30 days. After about day 5 I knew I had to have it. By buying Construction Master Pro, instead of CM IV, you are getting a much better looking unit, with more features, a cover that mounts on the back while in use so as to not get in the way, and you are currently getting a free software version of Pro as well. All of that for only a couple more dollars than the IV version makes it a no brainer. I am making cabinets, windows, and doors. In all of those, especially the windows, you need to do a lot of calculating in fractions. That makes the math work tedious at best. I was finding common denominators, then adding subtracting, dividing, multiplying, etc. Having to convert all along the way was a major amount of factoring. This calculator thinks in fractions as well as the standard arithmetic format. So you can insert, 8 1/8", and 3 13/64" for example, and it does all of the figuring for you. Convert your answer to board feet for material costs, is only a couple of buttons away. How many yards of concrete do I need to make the footers, no problem. I want to build an arch top doorway, and need to know the total amount of distance of the half circumference. No problem, just put in the rise at the center, and the run across the base, and it gives you every piece of information you could possibly need to know. This is just scratching the surface. This will be a tool that I will use for a long time to come. As I grow accustomed to its many capabilities, I will use it more and more, for a wide array of applications. Could we call this calculus? It seems like it. When you watch the included CD that comes with the included calculator software version, you will see a video tutorial that explains a lot of the functions. Some are best understood by practitioners of that specific trade, but it makes me want to learn. How much roofing material do I need? Just put in the pitch, and the floor space, and it calculates the amount of material. How many cubic yards of soil do I need to fill in the hill leading up to a wall? How many yards of concrete do I order for a patio. Determining hip and valley rafters. What is their length, and angle, and where do you put the bird mouth? Everything is calculated, and displayed in some applications as a sub chart with all of the finished answers in the software version. So it is nice to have both. Whether you are at your desk, or in the field, every option is covered. I highly recommend the Construction Master Pro, I can't remember when I was more excited about a tool. I can't wait to use the calculator in ever expanding roles. The price here at Amazon was 10 or 20 percent lower than the other sources, or at best the same price as others, and included free shipping. My advice, buy it, and buy it here. I warn you though that if you download the free trial version, you will be hooked after using it only a few times. Hope this helps.

5Time = Money
By D. Dietrich
I am a construction foreman in the film industry. I have always taken pride in my math, but this thing makes double checking so quick that I now carry it on my belt. Stairs are easy, rise/run for squaring, you name it. I have also worked overseas and the metric conversion features saved me. This model is better than the IV because of the integrated cover and owners manual. It is so good that someone stole mine again and now I need to buy another. If you do takeoffs or run numbers for a crew all day like me, buy one of these.

3Not for accurate tiling...
By Raleigh Remodeler
I tried using the square for laying out tile. The square was set in place and a laser layed against it to project a layout line the length of the room. When I got different lines on different tries - over an 1" variation over 12' - I investigated. The problem is the hypotenuse of the triangle is in two pieces to accomodate folding. The locking mechanism allows some flex - and it doesn't take much to throw a projected line off.I sucked it up and spent the $$$ on the Hansen. It's arms are all single pieces and they lock tightly. It doesn't fold up as small but it was dead on.

5When Perfection Counts
By John Lee
I do a lot of volunteering for Habitat and when I first pulled out this tool, they all laughed. I used it to check the interior walls .. and especially the ones in the kitchen and baths. It is just the right size for those locations and much more acurate than a framing square. The volunteers who put in the countertops worshipped at my feet when for the first time in the affiliate's history, they did not have to hack and cut the countertops to get them to fit!Fits nicely in my Empire level case.

4Jet milling machines
By F. Davies
Jet machines are quite functional.

A milling machine is the heart of a machine shop.

If this is your first milling machine, expect tospend and equal amount on the tooling you will needto make it work. A clamping kit, an assortment of end millschucks and holders, a vice, a rotary table, an indexing headand more will all be required to round out the purchase.

Horesepower translates into speed of material removal.Bigger bits require greater power.

This is just a starter mill and you will want to upgradeto something costing ten or twenty times as much when youwant to do production work as this one is all hand crankedand requires a skilled operator to run it.

Did I mention that it cuts wood etc.? There are even machinableceramics which it can handle.

Again, expect to double the price (as a ballpark est.) on anymachine tool by the time it you are done. And plan to put it ona solid foundation, not in your livingroom.

I use mine (a Jet VMM626) to make thermoplastic injection molds.

4Wood and Metal ... a great machine for both
By Michelle Stone
I've used this machine for over a year now. And I really like it. As a drill press for wood, it gives me very acurate and square holes. This is very important in my business where accuracy is key. I use a wooden table and fence that I use over the mill bed.I use it also to do light milling with aluminum. It does a satisfactory job with that. I'm happy with the results. I think that if I were to do only milling and I had to do complicated parts, this mill would not be enough. Running the table back and forth manually can get pretty boring. There is only one thing that I do not like and that is to raise the head, I have to loosen the clamp that holds the head from moving right or left. So when I raise the head, I can't garantee that I'm still where I want to be. As a result, I have to recenter my work. The machine is very heavy. Jet installs an eye bolt on top so that you can hoist it up onto your stand. I like this very much. I built a solid stand for it out of 2x6's and that has been very stable. The mill/drill has been very reliable. I use it every day and I have had no maintenance problems. As a drill press with wood, you'll not find anything better. As a mill with metal, it's pretty good. And for the price you are paying. This is very good value.

This has been a very good mill. We've had this model for approx. 10 years with no problems whatsoever. My only complaint is the lack of a way to gauge the alignment of the head after it raised and lowered.

5Now I dont use my miter saw as much
By A Customer
It performs flawlessly as promissed. However if your serious about woodworking and expect perfection in your work this tool will be an asset to you. Most of the time you can't even use the miter gauges supplied with the saw and this really limits the usefullness of the saw. I have been playing around with it for a week making various cuts and checking them for accuracy and I am throughly pleased and I feel I got my moneys worth. I have seen some of the reviews of other incra miter gauges and there has been some concern about the guide wheels wearing out. I can see this happening but I don't consider any tool maintence free and this is something that will need attention as time goes on but I feel that it is acceptable. The only thing I am still not sure of is were the differences between the 2000 and the 3000 worth the money? And I had no other experiences with after market gauges so I can't compare. I do know that it does perform as I expected.

5Incra 3000 Miter Gauge
By Paul G. Held
I've needed a precise miter guage for some time now. On the recommendation of a woodworking buddy who had bought a Incra 2000 miter guage and liked it, I purchased the Incra 3000. I cannot believe I existed for as long as I did without this wood working tool. The miter guage and fence is accurate, easy to use, and precise. It allows one to make segmented wood rings quite easily. The Incra 3000 uses mechanical stops for all of the commonly used miters. Using a unique fine adjustment half degree increments can be obtained. This feature, while very handy can get you in trouble if you forget to retun it to "zero" before changing to you next angle. No fault of the tool, just the user's forgetfullness. The 3000 is an upgrade from the 2000 in that the miter guage swings in both directions while the 2000 need to be taken aprt and reassembled if miters in the other direction are required. Tool setup and alignment are easy and the directions are great. I would highly recommend this product to any woodworker who needs accurate miters.

2Weak point makes this tool unuseable
By WaltW
The protractor head, associated knobs, fittings, and adjustable miter slot bar are very good and probably provide a high degree of accuracy. The problem lies in the attachment of the fence to the protractor head thus negating the protractor head accuracy.

There is a piece of 1/8" angle iron between the protractor head and the fence (3/4" x 1-1/4" x 6"). The narrow leg is attached to the top of the protractor head with three screws and the other leg is attached to the back of the fence with two screws. The three screw connection to the protractor head provides adjustment to set the protractor head square to the ts blade. The two screws holding the angle iron and fence together are backed with threaded plates that slide in the fence thus allowing the fence to be moved from side to side.

The angle iron between the fence and the protractor head is not sturdy enough to prevent the fence rolling from front to back. Consequently there is no way to insure the fence face is 90 degrees to the ts table. The instructions provided say to put tape between the angle iron leg and the protractor head, either in front of the screws or behind depending which way the fence is out of square. It's obvious Incra saw the problem, but did not come up with a satisfactory adjustment.

To compound the problem, the protractor head and associated mechanism is made out of 1/8" steel and plastic. Flex in this construction amplifies itself to the fence.

This miter guage could be a superior tool if: 1) the protractor head / fence connection was strengthened, 2) heavier guage material or cast material was used in its construction.

All of this is mute if the only use of the miter guage was to cut material flat on the table. Unfortunately, this is not the case for most people.

I don't have an superior alternative to this miter guage, but am looking.
