4lots of storage, the ability to record, no remote/firewire
By Scott C. Frase
First off, this thing is very cool. My original purpose in getting it was twofold: it should be a replacement to my broken Sony home CD player and it should do live recordings. (By the way, never buy Sony CD players. I've had two and both have died within 3-4 years.) Got it only two days ago, but have played with the recording function quite a bit as I am in a band and needed a portable recording solution that was true CD quality (as opposed to MiniDisc) or better. The Nomad gives me this because it can record at DAT quality, 48khz.What you do to record is essentially this: hook up your mic to the line in and then select "Recording" off the little screen. Now you have a menu with some info and choices to make:MonitorThru (On/Off), SamplingRate(11.025khz-48khz), InputGain(0-15), and Boost (On/Off). There is a problem if you don't use an amplified microphone. The problem is that there is a nasty whine from the hard drive that gets louder the more you crank up the InputGain setting. So the solution, if your going to use a microphone, is to MAKE SURE you pump the microphone through a pre-amp, mixer, or multi-track recorder. Once the mic is fed through one of these, the signal will be hotter and override any of that crappy disk noise. In my first heavy duty recording session at 48khz for 2+ hours, the Nomad performed admirably and did not crash. The one thing I could say is that the Nomad could use a graphical VU meter so that you can tell if your line level is too high. After a bit of manual tweaking, I was able to get the line level correct, but it would be a whole lot easier with a graphical display of some sort.

Here's how you record on the Nomad. From that Recording menu, you select your recording preferences, press 'ARM' to prepare to record, and then the 'Play' button to start the recording. Recordings will be saved as non-lossy .WAV files (nice for creating quality CDs of live performances) into 10 minute increments. Incremental recordings, saved as tracks, are a safety precaution against crashing, something that happens frequently when you have multi-gigabyte files. The Nomad will save the recording to an Album called 'Recording nnn', where n is the next available number starting at 001. The first 10 minutes of the recording will be labeled 'Track 1'. If you go beyond 10 minutes in your recording, each successive track will be named Track 2, Track 3, and on like that. Once I have a recording saved, I use Creative's PlayCenter 2 on the PC (connect it up using USB - where's Firewire when you need it?) to copy the file over to my hard drive to tweak the sound file to my liking in Cool Edit. Make sure you have plenty of room on your PC's hard drive, because 48khz recordings use up a lotta drive space.

One thing about the PlayCenter software. I had a conflict with some CD burning software which would hang my PC (a 600mhz Pentium III/320MB) everytime I tried to install the PlayCenter. I was on the phone for two hours with Creative Labs tech who was very good, but couldn't solve my problem. Finally, after reinstalling Win2K, I found the problem to not be a software conflict, but a hardware conflict between the PlayCenter2 software and the PCI slot position of my ATI All-in-Wonder 128 video card. Once I swapped the video card to a different PCI slot, the software installed fine. Yeesh.

The PlayCenter's interface is nice. You have two windows that represent the source and destination of where music or data is and where you want to put it. So, you can rip a CD, copy recordings made from the Nomad back to your PC, take existing MP3s OR ANY DATA off your hard drive and throw it on the Nomad.Notice I said 'ANY DATA.' Because earlier versions of the firmware and PlayCenter2 don't have the ability to copy any data to/from the Nomad, make sure you download the latest firmware and PlayCenter2 versions ... . You can use this thing as a backup drive aswell!! You can also control all aspects of the Nomad, from deleting songs, to creating playlists, and labeling and organizing your music from this interface.

One of the best things about the PlayCenter is that it has a link out to CDDB, the music database. When you rip a CD (at any quality level you want, from 20kbps all the way up to 320kbps), all the track information is automatically downloaded and the music is categorized for you. One warning: you have to have a speedy CPU, memory, and CDROM in order to avoid skipping or other artifacts when you rip songs. I'd say you'd have to have at least a 300mhz Pentium II pc, 128MB RAM and a 24x speed burner. My box is a 200mhz Pentium with 64MB RAM and a 20x reader and I got artifacts when I burnt a Vivaldi CD at 320kbps. Another great thing about the software is that it allows you to rip to both to the Nomad and a directory on your PCs hard drive at the same time for backup purposes. I don't have that much space on my PC, so I choose not to make the backup. Finally, the sound quality varies according to the encoding rate. Music recorded well and encoded well sounds great, but do yourself a favor and getter a better set of headphones than the ones included. I have an older pair of Sony MDR-V600's and they sound much better than the Creative headphones.

In the final analysis, time will tell if this thing is actually going to hold up under many recordings. I pray that Creative has some extra hard drives lying around in case this bad boy crashes!! I have yet to figure out the best means of backing this thing up, but I'd imagine it'd be a good idea to have a 20GB drive lying around. Enhancements Creative could make are plenty: Creative needs to get a remote control for this thing as it will be hooked up to my main stereo. Also, Creative should include a digital out for people who want to use this as their main sound source for both home and traveling. Digital out would give us music lovers better audio quality. A line level meter would be appreciated for recordings. Finally, make the data transport mechanism Firewire for quick uploads/downloading of data. All-in-all, this is a nifty little device. I'd really give this guy a 4.5. Let's hope it holds up under repeated use!

5This one has the best features for a gadget geek like me
By A Customer
I've had my 20GB Nomad JB for 3 weeks now, and I'm obsessed. I've ripped 300 of my CD's into it, and it's still got 5GB free. I'm using MP3 for compatibility with my less-privileged friends, but I tried the WMA format and it's better IMHO. The EAX and equalizer effects are great, esp. when hooked up to some cheesy... Labtec speakers w/subwoofer. This thing's got all the others beat for features! VERY MINOR GRIPES: You can record directly off another device using built-in line-in jack 1/8", but you need a powered mic to record voice. The battery life is right about 4 hours, but charge them a good long time on first charge before using them. Carrying case is inadequate, but who cares? Get a CaseLogic case. GOOD STUFF: The USB connection is plenty fast, takes under 5 minutes to fully rip a 60+minute CD and transfer to it (use a fast 40X CD-ROM or better). I thought the headphones included with were fine -- there's better, but they're okay. The included software is very easy, converting from WAV to MP3 or WMA etc. is easy (right click it), you can store ANY type of file from computer on it in a pinch (I tote stuff home from office computer on it). SOUND IS EXCELLENT. Your title and track info can be displayed during playback, which is nice for party scenes where my non-tech friends want to know what song is playing, they can just look. The CDDB (internet database) service is great, I only had to key in 4 discs out of 300 that I ripped. But check the titles, some folks are submitting and drinking, apparently. WHAT I COMPARED THIS TO: ARCHOS, Dhttp://amzn.com/dp/B00005QCU3/?tag={ucomicscom} and pretty much every other jukebox. In the stores, hands-on. THIS THING ROCKS. No regrets. Go get one. Live a little. Everyone will hate you.Review update: What other guy said is right, if you go WMA you can pack a lot more music on this thing, up to 700 hours. I went MP3 because I dump files to my friends' computers, and some of them have enough trouble with MP3 (get Windows Media player update people!) I DROPPED MINE. Know what? Nothin' happened. Don't try it at home though! There is a hard disk that COULD get damaged, but mine fell about 3 feet onto a hard carpeted floor with no apparent harm. And USB isn't too fast compared to firewire, but heck, 2 or 3 minutes for a whole album? Come on. Last thing I forgot, there's an infrared port on it for "future upgrades" such as an IR remote control. Which would be nice when I'm connected to my home sound system.

4A must-have, but not without problems
By W. A. Norris
This was an easy choice for me, because it's currently still the only 20GB player on the market. If, like me, you have lots and lots of music, size matters. As big as this is, I expect I will upgrade in 2-3 years when they have 50-60GB models.

If you really like music, this unit will reorganize your life. You can carry around all (well, an awful lot, anyway) of your music, organize it into as many different playlists as you want, and play it pretty much anywhere. Of course, there are also some annoying problems, but don't let that stop you from getting an amazing device like this.

The best parts: (1) Sound quality. For all but audiophile equipment, the limitation on sound quality will either be the MP3 file (if it's a low-grade one) or the equipment you play it through (mass-market stereos and headphones, etc). If you hook this up to an expensive audiophile system, you will hear its limitations, but it plays compressed sound files anyway, so that's no surprise. (2) It goes everywhere and hooks up to nearly anything. Having line level out as well as a headphone-out jack adds to its versatility. I use it when I work out or go walking, at work with headphones or through the computer, with my living room stereo through an RCA cable, in the car with a casette adapter, and with the boombox I've got in the kitchen, also with a casette adapter. Having the same set of playlists instantly accessable all of those places is simply amazing. (3) A surprisingly usable interface. I had a flash-based MP3 player a couple of years ago, and based on that, I thought it would be really hard to find and play music amongst hundreds of albums. The interface makes this pretty easy.

Things that have bugged me in the 6 weeks I've had this: (1) battery life could definitely be better. I wish it could use lithium-ions. (2) Interfacing with the computer. I'm not in love with the interface of the PC software, the transfer speed is sluggish, and I've had some stability problems, though nothing that renders it unusable. (3) It takes 20-30 seconds to boot up when you turn it on, and sometimes the buttons are kind of slow to react. (4) It's kind of chunky, and heavier than I'd like. (5) It skips a little sometimes when I'm out walking. I'm not a jogger, but if you want to jog with a player, this might not be the one. (6) This may just be me, but I've had some trouble matching it with good headphones. It works great for rock and electronica with the Sony earclips I use for working out, but it sounds really fatiguing when I pair it with my Grado SR-60s at work for listening to jazz and blues. I think I'm going to pair it with a headphone amp from Headroom and try some other headphones (Sennheiser HD570s, AKG K501s, etc.), to see if I can find the right combination.

Overall, though, I definitely recommend this player, even though I hope they will do some things to improve it when they come out with their next model. It is an outstanding device, and I would by another in a second if anything ever happened to it.

5This Is A Camera Not A Toy
By W. J. Haskett
What an amazing machine this is. After suffering through the flimsy plastic trinket cameras with little or no real optical quality, I finally own a truly versatile digital camera. The E-20 (as with the E10) offers extraordinary flexibility in digital photography. Prior to my recent purchase I spent at least a year and a half researching and waiting for this last pixel jump. The E-20 offers all of the flexibility of a high-level SLR which is missing on most other digital cameras.

Good Points:

- The feel... It has enough weight for good stability, and it fits your hand very nicely.- Excellent lens with the ability to add extenders, filters, what-have-you.- Super Image Quality- Good bundled software (Adobe PhotoShop Elements and Camedia)- Image control- SmartMedia, CompactFlash, AND Microdrive compliant with the ability to use more than one card type at a time (you can switch between the cards).- True SLR (some competitors offer interchangeable optics, but still have you look through a viewfinder. What's with that? I want to see what I'm taking.).- Great accessories! (I can't wait to get the lithium polymer attachment)

Drawbacks- I'll have to get a better strap- Flexibility & control vs. ease of use trade-off... there are roughly 30 buttons to learn (but most of us will want that kind of control).- It doesn't come with a case... even a cheapie- I need to buy stock in a battery company- Remembering to turn it off whenever I open the media bay or change power source

This is probably not the camera you would buy for your instamatic dependent Aunt Sally or Uncle Jimmy-Bob, but if push came to shove you could always tell them to just put the big knob on "P" (Program) and snap away.

When you pick your camera, don't go by statistics alone (or reviews alone for that matter). You've got to get out there and see how the camera feels in your hands. If you've a history with good quality 35mm SLR's you are going to love the E-20.

4Excellent VeriPic compatible camera
By A Customer
We tested this camera for compatibility with VeriPic. We put it through its paces in all the modes including adjusting manual white balance, IS, PS and Noise Reduction mode, sharpness filter, all combinations of the 5 resolutions and 3 compression modes. The camera performed flawlessly and what amazed us is the camera was very frugal on the batteries. Once set of charged 1600 mah NiMH AA batteries actually got us through 350 pictures! This was a very pleasant supprise. The technical specs also don't mention another gem...There is a large RAM buffer that allows you to take up to 5 FULL mode resolution (5 MegaPixel) photos one after another without waiting for the photos to write to the Compact Flash card! This means you can take photos quickly without having the normal digital camera wait between photos that other cameras have. (The manual lists a 60 ms wait between shutter press and photo capture. This is almost too small to notice and the user will think this camera responds like a 35 mm SLR). The photos look great in FULL resolution JPeg at 1:2.7 compression. Don't use the two TIFF modes because you'll run out of memory card soon and there is no noticable quality difference between the TIFF and JPeg mode so you might as well use JPeg and save some memory. Additionally this camera is VeriPic compatible! That means it is suitable for professional insurance or evidence photography work. We would have given this camera 5 stars instead of 4 except for two things we didn't like about it. The camera is a bit too heavy and hard to lug around unlike the direct competitor (Minolta Dimage 7 which is significantly lighter) and the second drawback is that it is significantly higher price than the Dimage 7. Otherwise it is a great camera!

5Good and Versatile
By A Customer
I am now using the E-20N for our newspaper and have found it to be excellent for sports and news photography. The only drawback is the write time from buffer to card can be long and ties up the camera when the buffer is full. It is a little slow powering up, about 5 seconds. However, I am learning to overcome it and work around it. It takes excellent quality photos and does night football on the high school level very nicely with the FL-40 Flash. The flash is a necessary accessory. It is a wonder to handle, good focus, fast auto focus and love the manual flexibility it has. I definitely recommend it. I did not know if it would take night football, but it has done very well. I am still learning it and trying to master the many features it has. Very, Very good digital camera, it has all but eliminated our wet darkroom. we also use Nikon Coolpix 950s and 995, both very good digital cameras.

4Sounds like heaven
By Twain Mark
I haven't owned many great pairs of headphones. My best pair was SkullCandy Titans. I know we all love to hate SkullCandy, but give Titans a try, they are awesome except for the fact that they are inear headphones and become extremely uncomfortable after a while. Anyway, back to these beauties. I needed something to listen to at the office without disturbing coworkers and without getting disturbed by them (which happens quite often). I just couldn't take another story about food choices of a 7 year old. So when I saw these on sale for a Benjamin, I simply couldn't resist. When i went to the store, there was only one box left. I picked up the box and then went to the displays for Beats (Dr Dre) and Bose. Beats sound beat down. They sound like someone trapped inside a box trying to get out. Bose sounded better than Beats, but then my Titans sound better than Bose. I was hoping against hope that the SONY would at least sound better than the Titans. Titans are in ear headphones and thus sound better than many over the ear headphones. So I get home and hook these up to my laptop. My first listen of an MP3 with these blew me away. I heard a balanced sound but with something extra. Instruments I never heard before, vocals and chords that Titans hid from me so well. And the base, not overpowering, not interfering but invigorating. It was like I was playing the base guitar (which I can't) to the adoration of millions of fans on a sound stage (none of these things will ever happen). My hate for the Titans grows stronger every day. My second test was with an actual CD (didn't even know I still had one). The sound from the CD made me hug these babies. I even stopped worrying about how to reveal it to the Mrs this frivolous purchase, but only for a minute.I still haven't tested them with my Yamaha receiver but I am sure these will perform splendidly.Forget about Bose and Beat. Go buy one of these and you will thank me later.ProsSoundPriceLooksConsThese are tight. Hoping they will loosen up soon. However they didn't hurt even after listening for 2 hours.Big Headphone Jack adapter screws on the little one. If you loose it, you are screwed. The cable is coiled (like a telephone cable). I don't mind it, but you might.Happy listening.Edit: June 14th, 2012I had to reduce one star due to Sound leakage. At full volume (which no one who would like to have some hearing left by the time they are 30 listens at), the headphones sound like your cell phone speaker. This might be a big deal if you are in an office Environment.

4For that price, it's hard to beat these
By doppelganger
One of my first quality headphones, these are solid. I eventually lost them and replaced with the Sony Digitals ANC, which were even better. These were a lot more money back then too I think. 2002? Ish?They could be made from entirely different materials these days for all I know, but this model was awesome back then.

5I've owned the same set for about 15 years!!! Great!
By Rick Gutierrez
I bought these when I was around 17. I'm now 31 and they still work and look new! They sound amazing! Only downside, they start to hurt your head (around the ears) after about an hour of wearing them. They're kind of heavy, but that is the price you pay for strudy, high quality headphones.

2Looks can be decieving
By Y. E. Smith
Ok, the picture makes the slide look bigger than you think. It's very small, and shaped fuunny, so the bottom of the slide kinda fold under, it's hard to describe, but it makes the trying to slide process hard. My daughter was as long as the slide. She started jumping off the top of the slide, and had her fun there, but no sliding down for her. This is definitely for a 1 year old, no older. My daughter was 2 at the time I got it. I went out and bought the bigger one. Now she loves that. That one get an a+

5great slide
By A Customer
This is my first purchase of any outdoor play equipment and i am very pleased with it. i bought it for my 22 month old and was a little nervous at first about her falling off of the top. i watch her very closely but she seems to have mastered it. i like the high hand rails at the top opposed to others i looked at because it helps alot with them to hold onto while sitting down. the steps also seem to be at more of an angle opposed to other slides. my 22 month old has not been off it since and it is also great for my 4 year old. i don't have a yard, so this was a perfect toy for my children to have a little fun with limited space. i would definitely recommend this product! it is alot of fun and with it being made by step 2 we all know it will last a long time!

We bought this slide for them and they LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It keeps them entertained and they actually share and wait their turn. It's folds easily for storage and can be used indoors or out. A MUST!!!!

5Well thought out design
By A Customer
I had been looking for a "D" handle router and was in the process of deciding on the Bosch or the Makita when I came across Milwaukee's router. Both of the previous two have good reputations, and I'm sure I would have been happy with either, but what caught my eye was the features on the Milwaukee... and it didn't hurt that it was several dollars cheaper. My primary reason for wanting the "D" handle is that I prefer having that motor switch right at my fingertips.

One feature I like, is that the base is tightened down to the motor, or loosened, with a metal lever that snaps open and closed. This is easier than twisting a knob, and once closed, you have a positive lock. (yes, I have failed to tighten a knob securely enough on another router and had the base come loose while operating it). Removal of the base is done by pressing a button and sliding the motor out of the base. "Coarse" adjustments are made the same way. A knob is provided on the top side for making fine adjustments. Though the adhustment is not a fine as on my plunge router, I find it to work very well. The collets require 2 wrenches to install bits, and the wrenches provided are the forged type rather than stamped metal, a definite plus.

All in all this router is a pleasure to use, and my past experience with Milwaukee service has been very good.

5One of the BEST
By Ted C Pinchik
I have several routers (Proter Cable, Hatachi, Bosch, DeWalt and Ryobi) ranging in Hp from 1 1/2 - 3 1/4. Each of these routers have outstanding features, but the one I would rate over all is the Milwaukee D and the Body comfort models.

When it comes to control these two routers give the feeling of complete control over what you are doing. The startup is smooth and the power is above average.

I would recommend both of these routers highly.

Well done Milwaukee...

5Outstanding Router
By LINDA HOWARD
Well, I must say Milwaukee scored a home run with this new router. I love the ergonomics of the soft grip handle. The motor is smooth and very powerful. The threaded rod height adjustment system couldnt be any smoother. I love my old PC 691, but I think it will now start collecting dust. Hopefully, they will come out with a plunge base for this router like all the other manufacturers have. Also, would like to see a soft start/variable speed version offered. Thanks Milwaukee for another great product.

5Terrific one-hand dove-tailing (and more) router
By Victor H. Agresti
After reading all the non-plunge router reviews I could find, and looking at each model in local stores, several tool features sold me on this unit. It helps living in a large metropolitan area, as numerous local stores sell professional-grade routers.1. This is the only mid-sized router I could find that is designed to be controllable with one hand, with quick access to the off/on switch using your right thumb. (If you hold the router in your left hand, the switch won't be in the right place for your thumb.) This is important to me, because when routing dovetails, I hold a vacuum hose in my left hand, and the router in my right hand, so a two-hands-needed router won't work.2. Router bits stay in the precise center of the base, even when bit depth is adjusted. This may sound pretty basic, but this is the only (non-plunge) router I could find where this was true. E.g., in ALL of the units I looked at where height adjusts via the motor assembly screwing into the base, the router bit shaft is hardly ever in the very center after you tighten the motor housing clamp. While this may not be critical for most router applications, it is whenever using template guides. E.g., to make dovetail joints or use door hinge templates.3. Router is relatively light and easy to handle.4. Model 5615-21 comes with a well-designed case and a clever built-in removable router base (click on customer photos above). There is no need to remove the bit from the router - as it is protected from damage while sitting right side up on the base, either with the base in the case, or with the base removed from the case. The case provides outstanding tool protection and has extra space around the tool for storage. Model 5615-20 is JUST the router - no case and no router base.Soft-start was not important, although that would have been a nice plus. In fact, fast stopping of the bit would have been even more useful - i.e., it takes several seconds for the bit to stop after switching the tool to off.I bought this router primarily to use with a Leigh 24" dovetail jig, although it's used for other purposes. It hasn't been used enough to testify to its longevity, but so far, it's just what the doctor ordered. The micro-adjusting screw is perfect for doing dovetails or door hinge routing, where you're typically moving the bit in or out, but 1/100" at a time. As with any well-designed router, you can set it upside down, because nothing sticks out.Owning 5 routers of various types, I can assure you that there is no "perfect" router for all purposes. For example, I use a 3 hp plunge unit in a large router table - it's soft-start and variable speed, with plenty of power for those super-large panel door cutters, and bit changing needs but ONE wrench from the table top - because the tool's drive shaft can be locked. This Milwaukee unit needs TWO wrenches (included) to change bits; and while it's amazingly simple to insert or remove bits with the router sitting on a bench, that wouldn't be so if it was under a [router] table. Besides, it would be underpowered and too high-speed (for large bits). The reviewer whose unit vibrated too much might have had a defective router - mine hardly vibrates at all. If I sit my router flat on a bench (with no bit), and turn it on and let go, it just hums, doesn't wander at all - and runs smooth as silk, although it's hardly quiet.Since through dovetails need two routers to be set up (for productivity), I'm thinking of buying another one of these...

5Simply the best!!!
By A Customer
After using this new Milwaukee router, I have to say the it is truly the most well balance and comfortable router I have ever used. Why did it take so long for someone to thing of a body grip design? The ease of adjusting the depth is second to none and it cuts flawlessly. Even though I don't mount this under a table, once again Milwaukee has solved the problem of having to go under the table to adjust the depth by making a hole that you can then use a tool to adjust the depth from on top. Can't wait to see if they will come out with some bigger ones.

5A Good Handshake
By sprintcarr
The new Milwaukee Body grip router is simply an idea that was way past due. I had an out-dated router that used a setscrew against the router sleeve to hold position. Extremely frustrating and inaccurate. So I went out looking for a new router. Then one day I found the Milwaukee body grip router. I immediately knew that it was the router I must have... 3 things sold me on this router, the no spin adjustment mechanism, the easy flip-over clamp and the body grip feel. I really didn't like how the Porter Cable router requires you to spin the router body for adjustment. I do alot of table routing and didn't like the idea that the switch would be in a different location for each height. The large flip-over locking level provides plenty of tightening power to prevent movement, although I don't do any aggressive cuts. Lastly the feel of the body grip... I salivate when I think about how good this router feels. I have always found routing with 2 hands to be awkward or clumsy. The body grip on this router is so comfortable that I'm routing all of my dovetails, (ironically on my P/C jig), with one hand. And the switch is right there at my thumb for easy operation. You just get a very good fit with this router, it's like a "good handshake."

Other notes... The router has very good power, and very little vibration. The screw mechanism for height adjustment is very smooth and accurate and doesn't move when the locking level is released. The wider opening makes tightening bits slightly easier. The base is not designed for 1 3/16" templates, so you will need to buy an additional base for template work. Also be aware if you already have a router table, the mounting pattern of many routers vary from one manufacturer to another.

Overall... Nice job Milwaukee - I love it...

5BodyGrip Router
By J. Parrott
The depth adjustment on this router is the best I have ever used. I purchased the router mainly for use in a router table, and the access from above the table to adjust the depth of cut is just wonderful. The motor is powerful enough for large cuts. The tool is very comfortable to operate, with the power switch in the perfect position to access whether using the body grip or the handles.

5I love this router!
By Douglas J Westlind
I have the Porter Cable 690 (a fine router) and the Makita 3612BR (also a fine router) but this Milwaukie puts them both to shame. It is much quieter than either of the others and more comfortable to use freehand. The depth adjustment is wonderfully easy. And placed in a router table the above table adjustment is a breeze. Other reviewers have stated their wish for variable speed and soft start but I find this router starts very smoothly, (the Makita just about rips itself out of your grip) and I use a shaper for larger shaping operations so I find I don't need variable speed. I also bought the baseplate with the 1 1/4" opening so I can use bushing guides (the standard base opening is to big for standard bushings. I wish I had the choice of which baseplate to get as I don't need the larger opening of the standard baseplate and they are kind of expensive. I do think it is great that both bases are available for those that run larger bits. Overall I think this is the very best router available anywhere near this price. Milwaukie has a winner.

5One of the BEST
By Ted C Pinchik
I have several routers (Proter Cable, Hatachi, Bosch, DeWalt and Ryobi) ranging in Hp from 1 1/2 - 3 1/4. Each of these routers have outstanding features, but the one I would rate over all is the Milwaukee D and the Bodygrip models.

When it comes to control these two routers give the feeling of complete control over what you are doing. The startup is smooth and the power is above average.

I would recommend both of these routers highly.

Well done Milwaukee...
