Finally - Games Workshop products become available!

An excellent improvement to a classic model kit! In 1987 the first Land Raider model was released by Games Workshop for their recently released Warhammer 40K game system. Over ten years later, Games Workshop vastly improved on their original design, eclipsing the original with an improved attention to detail, elegance of form, and a wonderful adoptation of classic World War era styling - resulting in the Mark III Land Raider model. For Warhammer 40K enthusiasts, especially those collecting and fielding Space Marine armies, the inclusion of a Land Raider is a significant enhancement to your miniature army. For modelers, collectors, military hobbyists, this model is a fantastic project and when completed makes a great centerpiece or display....

Ah yes the Land Raider. Before the Crusader Model, this was essentially the only way outside of Deep Striking to reliably ferry Terminator Troops to your front lines.The Land Raider(and all its variants) sports the highest Armor Value (AV) out of any Space Marine, and most other armies' tanks in the entire Tabletop Game. Bristling with Twin-Linked Lascannons and Heavy Bolters, the Land Raider can bring an impressive amount of firepower to bear.Admittedly, this will usually be the first "complex" model a new Space Marine player will encounter, but the layout of the instructions are more than adequate in allowing someone to build this model. One only requires a higher amount of patience as the number of steps and pieces required to assemble it, are substantial.Strategically, the Land Raider is kind of an odd beast. On one hand, the Lascannons are some of the longest range and most powerful weapons one can bring to the table, yet the nature of the tank itself lends it to ferrying troops to the front lines and disgorging them into an enemy line. Whatever you decide to do with it, it does it well, albeit you'll have to decide to focus on one tactic or the other if you want to make it work effectively. Honestly, I'd rather have Crusaders/Redeemers for line-breaching duties, and have this one hang further back and snipe away with its lascannons.Anyhow, a great model. Even though it hasn't received the updates that the Crusader received with the accessory sprue and whatnot, it still is as beautiful and appropriately large model to field in battle.
