5A great find!
By J. Geoffroy
I have to admit that I was a bit leary of wireless speakers but after actually trying these I was bowled over. My girlfriend and I enjoy listening to BBC Radio on the internet with the problem being that we would need to sit in the office to do so. With these nifty speakers all I had to do was hook up the transmitter to my computer and proceed to put speakers in every room in my house. I am running six speakers in various locations of my two story house off one transmitter with perfect sound quality everywhere. I have cranked them up a few times with music also, (think about how many MP3 files you can fit on your computer and play at parties) and the sound quality is excellent. I can hardly wait until summer, when I can listen to the Red Sox game on the internet while BBQ'ing in the backyard. By far one of the best purchases I have ever made. Buy these!

4A fine product, given FCC limitations
By John Paquette
I've had these speakers for a couple of years now. They are surprisingly well-amplified and good sounding. Each speaker accepts eight (8) C batteries, which give it enough power to be quite loud. The batteries also last quite a while. Each speaker also has a hefty power supply, which is NOT a "wall wart" (yay)! The black box is in the middle of the power cable. Advent didn't wimp out on the power.

The utility of these wireless speakers is great. You can take them anywhere you are, and hear the stereo. Range is about 100ft or more, and less through walls (even less through brick).

A switch on each speaker allows it to play the left channel, the right channel, or monaural (a mix of left and right). This makes it possible for you to use the speakers in stereo pairs, or as independent monaural speakers. Very versatile!

The only caveat is that if you live in an apartment complex, you may get interference from cordless phones. The transmitter is tunable, so you can usually avoid the interference. If you think of these speakers as FM radios, and expect similar performance, you won't be disappointed. But if you are deeply annoyed by occasional interference, I'd stick with long wires.

These speakers are one of the few products I happily use every day. Great for bringing the music to places that would be hard to reach otherwise.

4Really Quite Good
By A Customer
I have owned these speakers for a about a year. I bought them at a sidewalk sale in my neighborhood in Brooklyn. I use them to broadcast the audio from various satellite channels to where I sit at my computer. The distance is no more than 30 feet so I cannot say how they would function over much longer distances.

As opposed to some of the reviewers, I have had no difficulty adjusting the frequency. I have very occasional static interference but for the most part this is a non issue. In essence, I use them in an urban environment on one floor of a brownstone here in Brooklyn so I cannot say how they might operate in your neighborhhood. I have them set for mono as this this tends to minimize whatever small amount of interference there may have been. This has a slight effect on frequency response but it is not major.

Please note that the fidelity is quite good but it is NOT audiophile quality so it is probably good to take that into account. All in all, I very good product.

5Excellent starter set for the burgeoning chef
By G P
When first advised to buy Henckels by a friend and culinary aficionado, I hesitated; $200+ for a set of knives? But after purchasing this 7-piece Henckels set, I was pleasantly surprised. There are excellent knives and definitely worth the money.

I would advise you go to a store that carries most of the Henckels knife series before you purchase online. While I recommend all of Henckels' forged blades, the handles are key; there are at least 4 handle types, each with personal pro/cons depending on your hand shape and size. The four-star handles are mid-size poly; the five-star handles are similar but a bit larger and more ergonomic. Henckels also makes a "classic" handle, both in poly and wood, and also an all-metal handle.

5Every bit as good as the five star line, but cheaper
By A. Ryan
Three years ago, my husband (who is a knifemaker himself) bought me this set as a birthday gift. He checked out the 5 star and Pro S lines as well, but decided on the four-star knives for me because they are designed for average-sized hands. Other than that, they are identical to the others except for a handle design that encloses the tang for less chance of rusting and easier care. No really -- that's it. Save the extra thirty dollars for some flowers.

These knives perform beautifully and using them is like a dream after years of grocery store quality cutlery. Like any set of good knives, they require hand cleaning after each use (although I will guiltily admit to a few machine washings in a pinch). Take care of them, and they will take care of your food.

The set comes with every type of kitchen knife you will need, including those fantastic shears. I don't know how I ever used to live without the sharpener. After I had them both for awhile I realized how handy it was to have two sizes of bread knives. If you cannot live without a boning knife, this is available separately.

I can recommend Henckels' Four Star knives without reservation for any home cook.

5No comparison...
By J. Oelkers
First, I can't attest that these knives are better than similar knives by other makers, such as Wusthof or Global. I did my share of research based on online reviews but I haven't had the privilege of working with knives by other high end manufacturers. My wife and I mostly limit ourselves to preparing relatively simple foods.

This being said, the experience I can relate with absolute authority is the sheer joy I've felt using the Henckels 4-Star knives over the past several months after previously being stuck with no-name, bargain basement serrated knives.

Our old knives were given to us as a wedding gift. Over two years, what had been a 15 knife set was whittled (pun intended...) down to 7 knives, four of which now have loose handles. Two of the knives in this set had blades which broke, and the others had the blade break loose from the handle since they were not full tang. Of course quality, or lack thereof, was just one major deficiency of this set. No, the primary problem was their awful performance. The handles were poorly contoured. The blades were light and thin, wandering aimlessly through the food. Densely serrated edges would shred our food. Ingredients clung to the blades, which were so flimsy we were continually worried that they'd break in midstroke. They also became stained over time, and showed signs of spot rusting

Why am I detailing our lackluster, dollar store quality knives in such detail? Because I think it's crucial to illustrate why it's absolutely NECESSARY, if you do any amount of cooking at all, to buy good quality knives as soon as you possibly can!

In contrast with the old knives, the Henckels cut through our ingredients with authority and precision. Food slides off of them easily. Handles are solid and fit the hand perfectly, allowing for optimal control. They are weighty in comparison to cheaper knives, but superbly balanced. These handling characteristics mean that we slice through food so effortlessly, we really don't feel the extra heft. Also, because they are so efficient, we find that we fly through cutting chores that would take twice as long with the lesser quality knives. In the end, I now get tasks done much faster, yet more deftly. I cut thinner, smaller, more accurately. It's a WORLD of difference!

Anyone who says that you can get by with cheapo knives and don't need 'them fancy 'spensive knives...' is leading you astray. They can't possibly have EVER used good knives. They are advising based on ignorance. Even the simplest task is made better with our Henckels set. Truly, knives like these are NOT just for chefs and serious amateurs. They are for anyone who cooks on even a semiregular basis. They are invaluable if you like cooking fresh food at home yet don't have a lot of time. Do yourself a favor, pass by whatever is being hawked by the hucksters on HSN and the late night infomercials and aim for quality.

These might cost four times as much as lesser brands, but they will last far longer, and make your time in the kitchen immeasurably less stressful. In fact, they restore the pleasure to cooking.

5Great picture......Great Sound.......HUGE!!!!!!!!!!
By Nikki
We bought this model in 2003. It performs today just as it did the day it was delivered to our home. This television (both size and viewing screen) is huge! We went from a 32" tv to this giant. Images are life-size. You definitely need to have space between your sofa and the screen.Watching sports games and movies are like you're in the stadium or the theater, so get your hot dogs, nachos and popcorn.I would definitely recommend this model. We live in a smaller place now, so we're trying to sell our set. But if you have the space, its a guaranteed winner.

5Excellant buy
By Don
We bought ours 5 years ago. If you are into sports and nature TV you can't beat this. You are right on the field or rink with the players or the wildlife. The one thing I would caution about is that your TV viewing will increase. High Definition makes everything you watch an experience and the size definitely only enhances it. You do need to have 12 to 15 feet minimum of room between your seating and the set to really enjoy this. A room 18 to 20 feet in depth is ideal. A good surround system also makes a world of difference as most high def is also broadcast in 5.1 surround. You can pack a lot of people around this TV and with the Olympics coming up we expect to be sharing our house a lot. In 5 years we have not ever thought of replacing this set as the quality has not diminished.

2Expensive for what you get.
By A Customer
I had a set of steak knives that didn't cut very well. I was so sick of them I decided to spend what I thought was a considerable sum to get "good" knives. Unfortunately, I did not see the editor's comments on this site before buying--they do tear meat, rather than cut it. Frankly, they are only marginally better than those they replaced. [The block is also fairly useless. Who wants their steak knives sitting on the counter top all by themselves? I have my kitchen knives in a block and do not need or want two blocks sitting out.]

3Not Made in Germany as advertised & as stated on the box
By Eric
One of the product pictures showed a close-up of the blade displaying it was "Made in Germany". The box it came with also stated "Made in Germany". ALL THESE ARE FALSE ADVERTISING !!! Each of the steak knifes were stamped "Made in Spain" :(

1Beware NON GERMAN manufactured knives substitution.
By Paul Waterhouse
Buyers should be aware that the description of the knives on this site; as clearly depicted; does not necessarily mean that the knives that arrive may be made in(as in my experience Spain, Thailand or China. Even though the packaging indicates German made and instructions shows German made, the knives that arrived were Spanish made. The return policy may be alright for locals purchasers but adding half the cost of the product to return it from Australia is not cost effective. My concerns re the issue have not been responded to.

5COMPARED CANON I850 and S900 PHOTO PRINTERS
By A Customer
I couldn't decide which printer to get. I am using a Sony DCS P9 (4MegaPixel) camera. I bought both the Canon I850 and the Canon S900. I decided to use both and whichever one I liked better, I would return the other one.I was only using Canon Photo Paper Pro papers. I used both 4x6 and 8 1/2"x11" full size papers. The price I paid after rebate and tax on the I850 was $140 (yes, afer rebate and including all taxes) and the Canon S900 set me back about $250 dollars + tax. Both were equally easy to set up out of the box. I was comparing 3,072 nozzles on S900 to 1,600 nozzles on I850. But, the I850 also offers:

5 and 2 pico-liter droplet size for ink...S900 is 4 pico-liter248 RAM buffer for quicker printing compare with 80 for S9004 colors of ink cartridges including a double size black (because it does text well, too)which is cheaper to replace than 6 cartridges on S900Very, very quiet operation BOth were quiet but I850 was quieterLiked the fact the I850 has a door that closes on front AND BACK...the S900 doesn't close on back to keep dust outSmaller in size than S900...and sleeker looking in aluminum look

Bottom line...I could see a difference in certain kinds of pictures...I saw a little more purple in a flower picture printed on the S900 and more of a deep blue color on same picture printed on I850...the picture looked more blue than purple on my computer though so I don't know how good a test this was. This color shade difference may be due to the 49 graduations of color available on S900 and only 27 on the I850. But, on most printing, the sharpness seemed to be slightly better on the I850..only slightly better...details were darker on the I850, like outlines of green leaves on trees.Would I justify the difference in price for the difference in print...ABSOLUTELY NOT. It just seems that the I850 is the newest printer technology and the S900, although only out since March 2002, will probably be replaced in the next 6 months or so with newer technology similar to the I850. Some colors on S900 came out with a different shade like bails of hay in a Halloween shot; on S900 it had a little more yellow tones than the I850 but the I850 had more detail on lines in hay and on my kids hair. Both were excellent and I took both 8 1/2x11 sheets (1 from each printer) to my local Best Buy store on a Saturday and the Canon rep working there couldn't tell the difference between the two printer's results. Bottom line is; If you need a magnafying glass to see the difference, then the I850 should be the choice. These pictures on both printers rival those that you get from local photo developing store...and you can adjust the contrast, brightness and color to your liking. The speed when printing pictures on the I850 is fast. Again, I must stress how quiet this machine is while printing. You will almost forget it's on even when printing. The software that came with the I850 is Canon's Zoombrowser 3.5 version...the S900 came with older version. I took the pictures to show some friends and they couldn't believe I printed them at home. If you get this printer, you will not regret your purchase. Just remember, from what I've heard, that it does make a difference which photo paper you use...Canon's Photo Paper Pro is the BEST (and Canon claims pix will last 25 years on this paper). The text is quoted in Black/White as 22 ppm (WOW). Also, haven't done it yet but I've heard from other's that the I850 does awesome Black and White pictures...better than the S900. I hope this helps in your decision...by the way, it does only take about 30 seconds to do a high quality 4x6 print on this printer. An Epson of equal comparison would easily take at least 4 to 5 minutes to do the same print!!!

4i850 is an excellent general purpose-go with i950 for photos
By bendenajones
Bottomline:If you want a photo printer go with the i950If you want a great all-round printer go with the i850.I owned both the i850 and i950, with the i850 first. The i850 is an great all-round printer printing fast text and photos. Using the Canon photo paper images look great, but simply lack the detail the i950 can provide with 6 inks and almost twice the nozzles and special photo inks. The extra nozzles not only make printing faster (at least for photos) but allow for more detail.

On a picture, printed from Photoshop 6.0, that contained lots of details and color, but specifically a tree with multi-colored (shades) of bark - on the i850 the tree looked good with good detail, but on the i950 the tree came to life, was sharper, with more tree/bark detail and color variations becoming visible. There was no question, the i950 was better, noticably for photos.

On mixed media (web page with graphics) the i950 and i850 were the same, but for some reason, the i850 was noticably faster. You get a larger black-ink cartridge w/ the i850 presumably favoring its intended role as a excellent all-round printer.

If price is an issue, the i850 is the printer for you ... If photo quality is the most important, then the i950 is for you ... Can't make up your mind? Go with the i950, the extra money is worth the results.

5Best all round Inkjet in the market
By A Customer
my printer searching began months ago when the new hp 7xxx and canon ix50 and epson x25 werent even out. I have comapared this printer to almost everyone in the category. The HP series produces good prints but with snail slow speeds and little cartridges are way to expensive. Next the Epsons, much more slower than Hp but little better print quality. the printer gulps up the ink cartridges. Now comes the Canon i850. I downloaded a 3 MP image from internet and printed it on the photo pro paper included. The next minute, my expression is WOW! I really did not expect that the quality will be that good. I can say that it is better than 35mm developed photo too. Then the put some Hp photo paper to print the photo, and the same photo was terrible. So better used canon paper or Epson works fine too. Text printing is superb considering it is a inkjet. Again u need good paper like HP 106 brightness. the Word documents came laser crisp and lightning fast. Speed is also a big factor that makes this printer a real winner. the photos as well as text come popping out. I think this printer is the best in the market for right now. If u want pro quality photos that rival those of s900 and lab proccesed, buy this printer. Most photo printers stink at text but this prints "laser" sharp text on good paper. Once again do not waster your money buying one of the HP 73xx or epson x25 or the other canon photo printers. this on is the best money can buy. canon japan has already introduced the canon i950, the six color inkjet with the same technology as i850. If you are a really dedicated photo enthusiast, you may want to wait for i950 or else I850 is more than enough for me

5A Cutlery Enthusiast
By A Customer
First of all Henckels is one of the best Cutlery Companies around. Chef's (although I'm not a Professional one) attest to their longevity and quality. The Pro S Series comes highly rated by Consumer Reports, even higher than the Henckels' Four Star and Five Star sets. This 18-Piece set is very similar to the popular 9-Piece set, but also has a set of 8 Steak Knives to boot. If you want to keep your steak knives in a neat and orderly block along with your other knives, then this is the set for you.

Read below to get all the details on the SCT Forging Process:

The Professional "S" and Five Star are the very best. Pro "S" offers a classic triple riveted handle while the new Five Star line offers a superb ergonomically designed molded handle. All J.A. Henckels knives use the exclusive FRIODUR ice-hardening process which improves blade density to provide a sharper initial edge that can be easily maintained over a long period of time. The smaller knives (6" and under) are made by traditional hot-drop forging. The larger knives are made with Henckel's exclusive S.C.T. process.

You'll find the blades to be more triangular than other German-shaped knives, providing less rock but greater control over the tip. They are high-carbon stainless steel with a rockwell hardness which varies between 52 and 56 depending upon the knife.

The Process of Producing a J.A. Henckels Blade -- S.C.T.

S.C.T.- Sintermetal Component Technology-is an entirely new method of manufacturing where Henckels has married craftsmanship, engineering and technology. The S.C.T. process allows Henckels to use the optimum steel alloy to create a perfect construction of the three distinct parts of a knife: the edge, the bolster, and the tang.

First, the edge needs great hardness for cutting performance and durability. The bolster needs a steel ideal for stain resistance, performance, shape and of course, great strength. Then the tang needs yet another steel, one that provides excellent stain and corrosion resistance.

Because the traditionally manufactured knives are made of one piece of steel, compromise is always built in, no matter how carefully the alloy is developed. For example, a steel with good cutting power often does not have the optimum resistance to stain or corrosion.

With the S.C.T. process, there is no longer a need for compromise, instead the knife incorporates three optimized steels for edge, bolster and tang.

5Superbly sharp and well-balanced
By Marc R. Marcus
I have used my new knives for about a week now and am extremely impressed with how easily they but through whatever I'm trying to cut through, and how perfectly they feel in my hand. Their weight, and extreme sharpness, allow you to exert very little effort in slicing through food. I compared them side-by-side to my other store-bought set of knives, and even after using the sharpening steel on the old set, I just couldn't achieve anywhere near the same degree of razor-sharpness as have the Henckels. Not that it matters to me, but the 8 steak knives are stamped, rather than forged, but they are still extremely sharp none the less. Unfortunately, however, the knives do not comes with any care instructions, nor instructions as to how to use the sharpening steel. It took some Internet research and some practice on my old knives to begin to feel comfortable sharpening these. In any case, you can't go wrong, albeit the price is pretty high for this set of knives.

5I cook for a living...
By mojostarz
I take exception to Mr. Michael George's (Scottsdale, AZ.) reveiw of this knife set, Henckels Pro "S" series and forged, bolstered knives in general.

If he has been a professional for 14 years then he should have learned the term "bolster" by now...and he should have been able to sharpen his knives properly without wearing the edge out...he's probably using an electric sharpener or sending them out. The culinary school reference is questionable also...Le Cordon Bleu uses Mundail knives...etc.

This a top of the line set and shouldn't be maligned out of ignorance. If you learn how to use the steel that is provided and a good fine stone then these will last you a lifetime.

We defend the honor of these mighty fine blades with 6 mojo*z

5This one is a "No-Brainer"! An inexpensive MUST BUY!!
By Douglas A. Raggio
I bought this printer for basic home use because it was highly rated by PC Magazine. A lot of internet research was performed as well (about 2 weeks worth). I debated between the Canon i850 and the i550...The only discernable difference between the two was print speed. This was confirmed on Canon's website. I am very impressed with its photo printing. Since we went all digital photography at our house, my wife kept complaining about not being able to get a good quality print. PROBLEM SOLVED!! It prints a beautiful, 4x6 borderless photo in no time at all! It would take a magnifying glass to distinguish it from a professionally developed photo. 4x6 glossy photo paper is only 15-20 cents a sheet. The individual tanks, and ink cost was the deciding factor as well. The cost of the Canon ink replacements vs. the other leading brands is a no-brainer. I had my last Canon for 4 years before I decided to upgrade to the newer technology. Bottom line - great printer, great photos, great price.

PS-The text printed by the i550 is laser quality, just in case you need to actually use it as a "regular" printer:)

5The only choice
By Athair
HP has let quality seriously slip, and Epson thinks the printer future is with cameras and not computers. So the perennial also-ran, Canon, has stepped in with this worthy successor to the S750.

The i550 is no great breakthrough product. Inkjet printers have become settled commodity items. And they are becoming very cheap. So the question is whether quality has suffered. For the i550, the answer is no. The ink comes in individual tanks for economy and has been reformulated so as not to fade. Speed is comparable to older Canon models and is faster in every mode than most Epsons and HPs. It is interesting that draft mode shows little degradation from standard mode for text and graphics but is noticably faster still and will be the setting of choice for all internal documents. But neither will you be ashamed to send anyhting you print in standard mode out into the world. The type seems crisp and black and the colors are true, at least to my eye.

This is not a photo printer, but to I think it produces pictures as good as any printer(assuming the right paper -- I used the samples from Canon), though real purists may want to invest more for a real photo printer if that is your main use. This is an office printer, and though it has camera-type software, it has no slots for memory sticks. Overall, it's a good all-around unit at [money] and I don't miss my old Epson a bit.

5Great printer for a great price
By A Customer
This is my second printer I've bought in ten years. My first was a Canon BJC-600. It was a great printer, even up until the day I replaced it. But it was showing its age and it was way too slow. So I set out to get another Canon product. I had my eye on the S520, but was upset to find out that it had been pulled! Why? To make room for the i550, of course.

So, two printerless weeks go by and finally the i550 hits the shelves. I run out and buy one ASAP for two reasons. First, my previous experience with Canon products, and second, I saw the S520 in action. I was very impressed with the photo quality, speed, and price. The i550 promised to be better and faster at about the same price as the S520.

To make a long story short, if you're looking for an inexpensive printer...look no further. For someone like me who doesn't really use the borderless photo printing (as amazing as it may be), this is the best one I've found for the price. Best of all, it has individual ink tanks for all the colors! I like HP printers, but I hate the wasteful and expensive 3-in-1 color cartridges that go in them.

For those who do a lot of photo printing, be advised that you'll probably want to use Canon paper. Although you can use other paper (i.e. Kodak) the ink and paper are all designed as a system. Therefore best results will be achieved with Canon paper.

PROS: Speed, individual ink-wells, high quality, easy-to-use bundled software, low cost.

CONS: Vibrates a lot when it picks up speed.

5Darn near perfect router
By Bruce Cuningham
Call it 4-1/2 stars.I recently purchased this router to replace my old Porter-Cable plunge router. It has all the power you'd ever want. Setting depth of cut is very easy using a rotating turret with 1/4" and 1/2" presets, and adjustable stops for two other depths of cut. The depth stop feels solid and unlikely to slip. The handles have been redesigned, and are very comfortable. Plunging and returning actions are smooth, and you can set the height of the return, a very handy feature. All-in-all, a darn near perfect router.I do have two quibbles, one minor, one not so much. First, the instruction manual is not so much a manual, as a map that one unfolds, and you must try to match smallish pictures with specific directions. Porter-Cable could've sprung for a better--booklet-like--manual. Second, my old router had a 1" dust collection port built into the base, a very desirable feature, lacking on this router. You must buy the dust collection accessory separately, otherwise you'll end up breathing dust, and ending up with a lapful of the stuff. I'd suggest that buyers purchase the dust collection attachment, as well as the clear plastic baseplate that's available.

5Best
By Max Power
General:This is the best router on the market. 3-1/4 hp is the most horse power you'll find on a 15amp hand tool, and it weighs over 17lbs to boot. The power allows you to use moulding and shaping bits for things like cabinetry building. This is a commercial grade production router.About power:If you want to know what router has the most power under load, the best test is not amps, or horse power, which are not based on standardized scientific tests, it is the weight of the tool. All else being equal, the heavier the windings, the more power they will be able to put out, that is a scientific fact. The hitachi 3-1/4 hp router is a full three pounds lighter, their TR12, the old hitachi model, is heavier, less HP, less amps, but has more power and sells for twice as much because it is more expensive to make heavy duty windings. The metal of the windings also makes a huge difference. Some tools use aluminum, some use copper. Copper is superior because it is more conductive. It is also much heavier.Plunge feature:The plunge mechanism is very smooth. The dial that lets you set the depth has 5 different depths. The ruler is metal. If you are unfamiliar with what makes a plunge base good, the plunge base is very useful for plunging for mortise cuts. It is also useful for lining up a bit to see where the point hits when you drop it. It is also good for quickly changing plunge or profile depths by using the depth gauge. For example when using tongue and groove bits you can easy switch between the tongue depth and the groove depth.Random features:There is a plastic screen on the side of the router that faces you so dust wont spray all over your pants and shirt if you don't use a dust collection system. There are two power buttons. A main switch that acts as a breaker if the current overloads, and then a trigger button on one of the handles with a lock-on button. The soft start feature is great, the router doesn't torque in your hands. But keep in mind you can't use a speed control with a soft start. And since it's not vsr you can't use the super huge low-speed bits for crown molding that take 1/2" horizontal bites out of the wood. That is this routers only drawback. There is a fan on the bottom of the motor that blows dust away from the router. It comes with a collet for 1/2" shank router bits. If you wanted to use 1/4" shanks you would need to purchase an adapter for about $5.Because of its weight and extreme power this router makes a good candidate for a router table, although if you go that route you don't really need to shell out the extra money for a plunge base. The router is made in Mexico.Hope that helps.

5Great printer...great price
By Mommy E
Installation:Installation was a snap. Remove the unit from the box and the packaging tape that protects the unit's vital parts. Install the two inkjet cartridges provided, then install the power cord. Power up the unit and install the driver provided on a cd. The whole operation took around 5-10 minutes. REMEMBER that you will need to purchase a USB cable if you don't have one already. Next, I aligned the printer heads, which was fairly easy to do with the provided illustrations. Now, you're ready to print.

Performance:The unit is no speed demon , however it's quick enough to get the job done and looks good doing it. It's amazing how good this printer is for such a low price. My first printer was a laser unit, because I couldn't stand the print quality of inkjets. The text print quality and image print quality really demonstrates how much better inkjets are today. The print quality is just as good or even better than my 600 dpi laser printer.

Pros:Cheap price

Looks nice sitting on the deskGood print qualityCompact size

Cons:No USB cable providedNot super fast

Conclusion:Great inkjet printer for those on a really tight budget

5Excellent Budget Printer
By The Alchemist
I upgraded from my Lexmark Z42 printer to this Canon i320 and from my quick tests it is great! It has a small footprint which is excellent for desks and space in general (Z42 was about 50% larger at least). It has some newer technology like borderless printing and "microfine droplet technology (which may just be a marketing hype)".

One of the major reasons I bought this printer is because of ink cartridges. It is easy to find Canon replacement cartridges for reasonable amounts (well under [money amount]) which is a huge benefit in cost savings over my Lexmark that had [money amount]+ cartridges.

Overall, a great value for such a low price. And, with the lower inkjet cartridges, cost per page will be lower. Quality of printing is the best I've had in budget printers to date.

3You probably want the model 7518
By Drew Heywood
I can't imagine why anyone but a production shop would buy the 7519. The single-speed feature may provide very slightly higher reliability but it greatly restricts the bits you can use. If you shop, there's no real difference in price between the two models. For almost everyone, the 7518 is the best choice.Don't use an external speed control on this router! Porter-Cable technical support says it will burn out the router.See my review of the Porter-Cable 7518 router for more thoughts on these routers.

4Porter Cable 7519 or the 7518
By P. Schaming
I am planning to build some office cabinetry and needed a new more powerful router. I chose Porter Cable from past experience. I found two choices for making cabinet doors and drawers using a router table. The Model 7519 and the Model 7518 which had 5 variable speeds. The two routers were the same except for the 5 variable speed. I chose the 7519 because it was ... cheaper. I didn't know exactly what the 5 variable speeds would be used for.

Well the router arrived in 3 days, thanks Amazon.com. Upon reading the instruction manual, there was a caution notice twice within the first five pages, that said. WARNING,WARNING,DANGER,DANGER (you have to say this with your arms waving up and down) "DO NOT USE router bits with a diameter in excess of 2 1/2" except when using Model 7518 set for either 10,000 or 13,000 RPM". Well that just shot down all the work I had planned for this router. Having not used it I gave this router 4 stars, because I think it would run like a workhorse, except with large diameter bits. So I will be sending it back and purchasing the 7518. I should have spent the extra bucks! Looking forward to the new 5 speed.

5Portercable router review
By Shane Stock
This is the best price I have seen on these routers anywhere. I have five of them and one that is similar with five speeds instead of one speed. We use these routers to cut out patterns in 3/4" thick particleboard core melamine. They are the only router I have found that can hold up to what we put them through. The veriable-speed ones are not as good for our purpose, as they shut off when you work them a little hard and the single speeds do not.
