DETAILS: The MINUTEMAN RPM (Remote Power Manager) is the ultimate power nerve center for controlling multiple network devices and services. Awesome, simple to setup

The device is extremely simple to setup, the user interface via web is super simple, no more early or nightly trips to our datacenter to reboot a firewall or similars, this is a must have for server rooms and datacenters, not for every single server but for certain devices which are prone to sudden "locks" like in my case with some high traffic firewalls.Highly recommend it !

More Coffeeness In My Cup

Years ago I bought a cheap, $20, hand-cranked coffee grinder because I heard freshly ground coffee was the best, and those electric whizzing blade grinders (choppers really) heated the beans and left you with a non-uniform grind that made for inconsistent results.The mechanism of that ridiculous and flimsy contraption would always unscrew as I used it, causing a loss of the grind setting, and sometimes the handle would fall off. Moreover, it took gorilla arms to operate as it often got stuck, as if a rock was mixed in the beans. I soldiered on for a few months but eventually I threw it out and went back to the grocery store grinder.A year ago I tried that cheap Black and Decker burr grinder (again $20, at Target) but it was noisy (like a DustBuster) and produced inconsistent results (a mixture of powder and chunks) for my drip coffee maker.Then I saw this Peugeot while traveling but I couldn't carry it with me so I bought it here cause I couldn't find it anywhere else. I'm surprised it's not carried by Williams-Sonoma - this is a quality item.As someone accustomed to working in a machine shop where all manner of cutting tools are employed the first thing that struck me about the Peugeot is the actual burr grinding mechanism itself. I'm just speculating but it looks as though the burr is machined from a solid piece of metal using a CNC mill or lathe. It's exquisite and intricate in design with nice sharp edges, and resembles a helix, like a stacked, twisted deck of cards. In my old grinder the burr was black cast iron, its edges were rounded, and there were holes in it from air bubbles indicating a pretty poor casting. The metal in the Peugeot grinder is shiny and reflective, like nickel or chrome plating, but I'm sure it's not plated because plating would probably come off. I'm really very curious about how they made this.Anyway I'm very pleased. The whole grinding mechanism of this Peugeot grinder is stout and robust. Beans are easy to grind and the grind is uniform. The crank handle is 4" long. It takes me 45-60 seconds to grind enough for two cups. It's fun too - maybe they could add a music box to it. The grind setting doesn't change with use as it did on my cheap grinder. The body and knob are made from real solid wood - not plastic or particle board. It's so old-fashioned and rugged, it's the diametric opposite of an Iphone, but I value them equally. It looks like it's going to last a very long time.Sure it cost more (yet half the price of the highly rated Kitchenaid grinder), but it works - it really works! And after a few trial runs to set the texture of the grind, I'm enjoying tasty and delicious coffee. The aroma once lost in the grocery store is now in my kitchen and in my cup. In short, there's more coffeeness in my cup.This is going to make a great Christmas gift for the coffee lovers on my list.PS - I use freshly roasted beans. I brew with a french press, steeped for 2-3 minutes, then poured through a paper filter to remove sediment.PPS - Things that could improve this machine. These are very minor quibbles.(a) Grind setting mark. I turned the adjustment nut all the way to the top (finest setting) and put a line on it from the front with a permanent marker. I turn it downwards while counting the number of turns to get my grind setting - about 1 and 1/2. Once it's there it stays there.(b) Rubber feet so that it grips the counter top.

Having a few problems

I was very excited about this coffee mill when I bought it, but over time, I've encountered a few disappointments. First, I noticed that every day, a couple of beans get themselves wedged behind the support frame. A minor nuisance. Second, the mechanism you use to adjust the size of the grind 'locked' itself into the super fine grind position. This now happens quite regularly. I have to get a wrench to unscrew it, as it is too tight to turn with my fingers. Lastly, I've noted lately that the color is bleeding onto the countertop. I have the black version of this mill, and whenever it encounters water on the counter, it bleeds. I would also agree with another reviewer that the size and shape of the drawer is awkward when dumping the grounds into a round French press. Having said all of that, it makes fabulous coffee!

Great grind and good-looking

I bought the Bresil to replace an inexpensive burr grinder. The Bresil produces a far more uniform grind and it can grind more finely, all while freeing up an outlet. The Bresil is also quieter and because it is 'wireless' I can grind anywhere I please. Because it is attractive I can also keep it where I please. The weakness in this grinder, at least for me, is the size and shape of the drawer that receives the ground coffee. It holds only enough for a couple double shots and its low box shape means I need to dump the coffee into another container. This can be done more neatly with the Bresil than with my old electric burr grinder, though, because the grind is not statically charged.

Tripp Lite 2000 watt inverter.

This product has worked very well for me so far. I purchased it to run a small camp trailor. It can run everything in the camper Lights, air, microwave 600 watts, television & sat. receiver. Have not had it long enough to know how well the two 250 AH batteries are going to hold up. We also have two 140 watt solar panels and a charge controller in this setup.

Great deal

I purchased this unit for my new truck so I didn't need to un-install the inverter from my other truck. I am running this unit off of two six volt golf cart batteries run in sequence to get 12 volts. I have the batteries charging from my main battery with a constant duty silonoid between them. I installed the remote switch for it and I love this set up. I can leave my inverter on overnight and even though it will drain the golf cart batteries, it does not affect my main truck battery. I can even run my Lincon 140 welder from this inverter. This is the best deal that you will find!

Works great, but don't leave turned on overnight

I purchased this for my work truck. A co-worker also has one on his. They work great. So far we have had no problems with them. I ran 25 feet of two gauge wiring from battery to inverter. I ran about 5 feet of two gauge for ground. Our truck's are diesels and have two batteries. My co-worker left his on the other night and it ran the batteries dead. The load adjust function seams to work, but not real good when set to the least sensitive setting.

Incredible sound!

This is one truly impressive PC Receiver (External Sound Card). Although Yamaha's website does not mention XP, it does work under XP. Just plug the USB cable into the computer and XP automatically installs all the required drivers. Install the software on the CD and you can control the receiver from the computer. Unfortunately the Yamaha driver does not work under XP (only 98/me/2000), and as a result I cannot get the inputs to work with the computer. On the positive side, since the unit works out of the box with XP with no drivers needed, you can rest assured that it will very likely work with future version of Windows. (It also works with Mac out of the box I've heard).

So, with that out of the way, let's talk about the important stuff.

First, the receiver can function without a PC. In fact, almost all the features can be accessed. You can select the inputs, set DSP mode, select FM preset, and tuning to a particular station, all without using the PC. This is extremely important, as you would not want to buy something that will only work when the PC is on. I am glad Yamaha designed the unit with this in mind.

The sound from the receiver is simply incredible. The DAC on the unit appears to be quite good. If you are using the build-in sound card on the motherboard or a plain old sound blaster, you should immediately hear the difference. The sound is richer, has more resolution, and has more punch to it. The amp on the headphone jack is also quite good and delivers excellent sound quality on cheap and expensive headphones. It plays loud enough and reach the max my ear can handle way before maxing out.

Perhaps the best thing is the unit is a looker. It looks really cute, according to one female coworker. The construction is rock solid, it weights a hefty 12 pounds! I've used an external Sound Blaster Extigy and this unit feels much more like a real receiver.

I think "Blair from Chicago" missed the point of having this receiver. This receiver is all about sound quality. It's like buying a BMW and complains that the Corolla also takes you there at a much cheaper price. :)

The only shortcoming is the software. Even though I acquired this in Aug 2003 (at an extremely good price btw), the CD still contains software from 1999 and Yamaha's website offers no software update. The software works, but by 2003 standards it feels a little strange. I am not that bothered by it however, I'd rather have awesome hardware and wimpy software than the other way around. I know I will be enjoying this receiver for years to come, no matter what computer/OS I will use in the future.

Not bad!

Yamaha has tempted me into buying one of these fancy units. On top of looking great with modern furniture, this unit also works well with my laptop. Why? USB digital-in is my desired feature, while the unit also shows-off more than just a few analog and digital inputs. This unit has become the central unit for all my sound systems. I've connected it to my pc, my regular sound system, and my MD. Oh and i just took my aiwa speakers off the old system and connected them on to this one. Works just fine the way I like it.

Buy this system if you can afford it.

Software works fine on XP

I can't add much to Raymond Chi's comments about the build and audio quality of the RP-U100 .... I'm not sure its really hi-fi with the NS-U50 speakers Yamaha designed to go with it, but its light years better than any sound card I've heard before, and its totally unfair to compare it to equipment that costs many times more. In a word, the sound is _fabulous_ for a computer.

My experience with the software and XP, however, was much better than Mr. Chi's. I installed the software before making the USB connection, as the manual suggests. Subsequent installation of the software went without a hitch. The interface is a little dated and counter-intuitive, but it works perfectly -- all the functionality described in the help files works well. You can really geek with some of the complex settings for reverb, equalization, etc. With just a USB connection to the PC, I can even pipe analog sources into the CAVIT and rip them in realtime on the PC. What a great toy!

My Casio Keyboard is DA' BOMB

I asked santa for a electric keyboard for Christmas this year. When I saw that he left me a Casio LK-43 electric keyboard it was way more than I expected. My grandma and I have been playing it all the time together. It is easy to learn because it has voice and lighted key instructions on it and it shows which fingers go on what keys making it easy for me to learn and sound like a pro. My keyboard also has 100 songs on it that helps me learn how to play it. My grandma liked my keyboard so much that my mom returned my grandmas gift and bought her a Casio LK-43 electric keyboard just like mine. Now we both have one just alike. My Casio electric keyboard is the best present I have ever gotten from Santa, it is the BOMB of keyboards. I must have been pretty good last year huh? I can't wait to tell my music teacher when I get back in school.

good sound

It took me about a day to get used to the sound difference between this and piano. The sound was good, it was just obviously different. But now that I have gotten a little more used to the differences, I love it. It came with a stand and an adaptor and a music book to get you started with songs ranging from very easy to more difficult. There is a learning mode that includes 100 songs you can learn to play on 3 different levels. The keys light up to let you know which button to hit next. (This feature can be turned off). And there's a voice that tells you which finger to use. (This can also be turned off.) The learning feature is fun to play around with and as with all keyboards, there are many different sounds you can choose from. Also the Demo mode, plays all the 100 songs for you so you can see how fast they are and how they are supposed to sound and it's fun to sing-a-long to.

This product is really good! it has light up keys and teaching facility. If you do anything wrong while playing a piece the keyboard tells you what you have done wrong. It has a wide range of songs that you can learn how to play from twinkle twinkle to fur ellis! It is a great keyboard! A must have! seriously if you r looking for a keyboard then this is the one to buy! also you can dowload more songs so you dont just have to listento and learn the 100 already downloaded songs. Flexible Data Storage

IOMEGA ZIP 250 DiskThe IOMEGA ZIP 250 disk is a high-capacity removable storage disk that is about the size of a standard 3.5" floppy disk. It can be read and written by an internal IDE drive (only one per system) or an external drive connected to a USB port or a parallel port (slowest in access). The IomegaWare Software provides utility functions designed for the ZIP disk, such as formatting or copying a disk. You should never use the Operating System disk copy function. Use the EJECT utility to remove a disk from a drive; this is required in Windows NT or Windows 2000. Remove the disk before turning a computer off You should never insert a ZIP disk in the drive when the computer is on as this can cause damage. Normally, shutting down the computer causes the disk to eject. If you lose power, you must disconnect power to the computer, open its cover, and push a straightened paper clip into the Emergency Eject Hole.The IomegaWare software tests for the presence of the ZIP drive. It should be used in Windows 2000 to format a ZIP disk in the FAT format. Removable disks can contain a lot of data when it can be partitioned into 250 MB segments. The data on a ZIP drive can be read and written by different versions of an Operating System (using the FAT format). Rewriting reuses space, it does not increase the used space. ZIP drives, like floppies, should not be exposed to magnetic fields or high heat (sunshine). The 250 MB ZIP disks can be read and written by a 750 MB drive.To test the status of a used ZIP disk. 1) Right click on the drive, select `Properties'. 2) Select the Iomega tab (after support was installed). 3) Select `Diagnostics', then `Close' after the green light. 4) Select `More Info' on the `Disk Type' Note the `Disk Life Status' and the `Format Life Status'. Percentages lower than about 85% are not good. 5) A `Long Format' can improve the Life Status statistics.

Great Keyboard

This is a great product for anyone who likes keyboards. I like the fact that it has so many songs for you to play along with. Some other facts about this keyboard include, It has 100 different insturments to use when playing, it has an MIDI port so you can connect it to your computer, and simply the fact that it's so easy to learn to play thanks to the key-lighting system. -Thank you Casio for another great product.

I bought this keyboard for my daughter and she used it to teach herself to play!She has now moved on to a more professional level keyboard, but this was the perfect one to learn on!

this is the best keyboard in the world some of the songs i learned from this key board are amazing this made me known as the best piano player around because of some of the songs i learned this teaches some of bethoven pieces the entertainer and about a hundred more i LOVE playing with the tunes like invader, space, funny, car and telephone. sometimes i play with this thing for hours on end this is the best damn keyboard EEEEEVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEERRRRRR i got to go learn some more songs now BYE

Excellent speaker wire for in-wall installation

First, let me say that I typically steer clear of anything with the Monster Cable brand on it because I feel it is overpriced. That's why I was surprised to find this 500ft spool of 14ga cable for such a reasonable price.Last year I used this cable to wire a surround system in my family room and it has worked perfectly. The cable is very flexible and has a marking for every 1' of length, so it's easy to tell how much you've pulled. (The mark isn't just a tick, it actually has the number of feet printed.) It has a low-friction shielding so it's easy to pull and an internal rip-cord helps remove the shielding when you're tying this into speakers.This is 14ga wire, which was perfect for my usage. Anything smaller starts to impact sound quality on longer runs, and larger wire is a pain to work with for some connectors and speakers.Overall, I would highly recommend this cable. To me, this strikes a perfect balance between price and performance.

Very nice product

So far, I really like this cordless keyboard/mouse combo. It was a little bit of a pain to set up (I had to install the software first before connecting) but so far, so good. In case anyone was wondering, the mouse is not an optical mouse, but it moves smoothly on my mousepad. If you're not looking to spend a lot on a cordless keyboard/mouse combo, this would be worth getting-another fine Logitech product!

The keys are very comfortable to press. The Insert, Delete, etc are in the correct standard position which I have become used to over many years unlike the Microsoft wireless keyboards.Also, the function keys function as they should by default, unlike the confusing Microsoft wireless keyboards.If you don't have the latest drivers then you can download them to allow the extra buttons to perform your own keystroke combinations. Drivers for the extra buttons work on Windows 98 and up, unlike the Microsoft one that only work on Windows 2000 and up.Basically I returned the Microsoft and got the Logitech instead and am very glad I did.

Wireless keyboards and mouses

This is a good set for those looking for a regular keyboard or mouse, but those who are looking for a tool for playing games might want to look for a cordless optical mouse. Also it is recomended to buy the ergonomic keyboards for those who spend lots of time on the computer typing.
