4wireless chat and LAN for Palms - very cool
By A Customer
This is a very good addition to my Palm m505. A few other folks in my office have the same setup now and we use the Palms for chat in the office using the BlueChat app. We also picked up a Bluetooth printer (HP 995) and so now we have a way to easily print out notes taken on the Palm -- very cool!

We also purchased a Bluetooth access point from Pico Communications...Using the Bluetooth Access Point, we can connect our Palms to internet, surf the web, check email (I use Message Agent), and send and receive Instant messages (Yahoo Messenger). This is very cool as I can chat with anyone as long as I'm in range of the acess point which, in our office, is about 100 feet (the one access point covers the whole office -- it's a pretty small office).

I have not tried using it with Bluetooth Phones but hope to as soon as I can get an Ericsson T68 from Cingular.

I've read that Bluetooth power consumption is supposed to be very low and that has been the case in my experience. My cradle is at home (I sync over Bluetooth at the office) and I've been able to use the Palm all day at work with intermittent periods of connection to the network, frequent chat and syncing once or twice. I notice the backlight reduces battery life so if you want the best results, try to keep it off.

2Alas, not for Treo600
By ILuvFilm
Unfortunately, this device will not work with the palmOne Treo 600, despite the Product Specification sheet for the Treo 600's specific claim that its SDIO port could be used to support a bluetooth card... This is apparently because of an incompatibility between the Palm OS5 operating system used on the Treo600 and the palmOne bluetooth card.

Beyond that, the form factor is "problematic" at best, as the "antenna" on the bluetooth card sticks out quite a bit from the edge of the phone.

1It easily breaks whilst in your pocket
By A Customer
Road warriors beware. Note that the card sticks out of the palm unit when inserted into the SD slot. Therefore if you place it in your pants pocket awkwardly and accidentally knock it against something, either the card will dislodger or break. Don't buy this if you are prone to dropping the unit as well.

Also note that very few cases for the Palm M515 have a cut out for easy access to the SD slot.

3No better or worse than any other wire. Much better advertising.
By Sam
Here's a few excerpts from the glowing reviews here:"The Monster XPHP-CI cable makes a big difference at any volume, but it really shines when you are pushing allot of sound at once, especially bass.""The sound I am getting is a noticeable improvement over older Monster cable of similar gauge.""Reproduces excellend sound; probably the best speaker cable in this price range.""This cable is great for anyone concerned with clear sound output but not with are large bill.""The Monster speaker wire delivers great sound and is very thick and sturdy.""Sure many people are happy using hardware store wire, but if you like the extra quality this wire has it""The sound I am getting is a noticeable improvement over older Monster cable of similar gauge.""This cable is great for anyone concerned with clear sound output"I'd like to know how everyone was able to objectively ascertain that the quality improved from one speaker wire to another?Did everyone have two totally identical parallel systems and have a completely neutral party with no vested interest listen to the differences between the two systems (with the only difference being the speaker wires) or did the person who purchased the Monster wire change the speaker wires then 10-60 minutes later listen to the system and compare the sound to what they had "remembered" earlier and conclude that the Monster wire must certainly sound better?Would you bet your life or 10 years income or dedicate your life to celibacy that you could positively identify which speaker wires you were listening to?I happen to own all Monster cables (before HDMI) and speaker wires. Why? Because I knew someone who in retail (not a box store) I could buy it from at true wholesale prices and it was insanely dirt cheap. Could I tell the difference when I switched speaker wires? Of course not. However, when I upgraded to a very high end receiver and 4 high-end massive tower speakers with a high-end giant center speaker plus two rear speakers then I (and my neighbors) noticed a huge difference.Monster products are "faith" based. You want to believe that they are better with absolutely no empirical evidence whatsoever because you need to reinforce your purchase decision.I know that those of you who already bought Monster products are insecure and will mark this review as 'not helpful'. I take comfort from that. For those who haven't yet bought the massively advertised Monster products, I encourage you to look around before making a purchase and realize that a speaker wire won't make your sound system instantly sound great or even better. No speaker wires regardless of cost or perceived quality will compensate for mediocre speakers or an old or inadequate receiver. To further complicate the issue, in order to truly judge the quality of the sound you need to have a source of high quality sound output. I primarily listen to recent Blu-Ray movies with uncompressed sound (the difference is massive). Go to blu-ray dot com to obtain the A/V ratings of movies. If you're listening to movies with poor quality sound, no matter how good your equipment is, all you're going hear is junk.To give you an example how your own mind plays games with you, here's my own recent experience: On my new Blu-Ray player I came across an audio option that was set for the default. I increased it to the max since my receiver is capable of handling the load. When I restarted the disk, the audio sounded remarkably better. I was impressed by this new setting and greatly enjoyed listening to the new enhanced audio output that night. The next day, however, I read the Blu-Ray manual and discovered that this audio option didn't work with HDMI which is what I have. I had totally deceived myself into believing that the sound had dramatically improved all because I wanted to believe this to be the case.Imagine the influence advertising can have upon you.

3Why does Monster hide the Gauge?
By B. Perkins
I agree with Sam, Monster goes out of its way to advertise its brand, but when you look at their package, the wire gauge rating is hidden. Why is that? All wiring has to meet industry standards as to gauge. It is the most fundamental deciding factor in choosing wire.Standing in Home Depot and doing a side by side comparison, all other brands list their gauge clearly on the packaging except Monster - and Monster is more expensive. Don't be duped. You need a large gauge wire but you don't need to pay for Monster advertising. There is so much more that goes into great sound. The shape of your room, the acoustic absorption of your furniture and drapes, the angle of the speakers, the quality of your speakers, the quality of your amp and the quality of the source of the music itself.

4Expensive, but it has benefits
By Thomas S.
If you check out many of the audio/video website forums, and home theater forums, you find that members rail against Monster products for being overpriced. That may be, because to deliver audio to your speakers, there really is no difference, electrically, between $1/ft Monster cables and $0.20/ft generic speaker wire of similar gauge (or lamp chord for that matter). However, there are definite benefits to this product that justifies the price to me.The beauty of this XPHP-CI cable is that is has a high strand count, which means it is very flexible. Fishing it around walls is easier than if the cable was stiff, as you would get with thicker but less strands of other cables. This is also useful for in-room speaker connection cable - say from your amp to the wall plate or the wall plate to your speaker, as the flexible cable will lay where you put it and you are not fighting it or bending it or worried the working you are doing will weaken the joint at the banana plugs you've put on the ends. The other benefits, well, the clear covers means its attractive and blends better than brown, white, black, grey, you name it. The CL3 rated jacket means its firecode compliant to run inside of walls. And the beefy nature of the cable means you have some meat to attach those banana plugs to.Sure, a 16ga spool of any wire will do electrically, even for high power setups so long as you don't run 200feet, but it wont look and feel the same and not inspire the same confidence that the connectors you put on it will stay put for the long haul. But you do pay for Monster products.I don't buy all of the marketing about it making your music sound better. Its an electrical conductor made of copper like every other cable. I do know that the look and feel and workability are worth the premium price to me.

5Replacement for PowerLine speaker cable: Audiophiles only!
By R. Frantz
My Monster PowerLine cables began looking their age. Bought the two 25 ft lengths somewhere around 25 years ago and I guess running them around my damp basement in the old house wasn't a good thing. There seemed to be corrosion at the tips and inside some of the middle area. Decided to replace it and get new spade terminators. Searched Monster and the cable I needed was no longer made ( clear, 4-conductor, 12 gauge ). Found this Monster cable that was the same wire only designed for interior wall runs- hence the color. Took a chance and ordered it ( a subsequent price drop of $35 to $115 and free-shipping made it a 'no-brainer' purchase ).Next problem was finding spades to terminate the ends and fit my Monster 'Exterminators'. Searched all over for connectors that would take the 6 gauge thickness ( two twelves twisted together ) and could not find what I needed. Monster makes spades with a self-locking insert but they're only good for ten gauge thickness. Couldn't use my old spades because they were crimped on the old wire. Finally found something called 'Stinger Crimp Style Ring Terminals' for a 4 gauge battery cable. Nice gold plated connectors they advertise as being suitable for thick speaker cable- and they are. Best part they're inexpensive. Ordered what I needed.Long story short: Bought some 'DeOxit' cleaner and 'Gold' preserver. Cut my wires, skinned them, cleaned everything and coated with Gold DeOxit then tried to crimp two wires twisted into the Stingers. Pliers no good. These connectors are heavy duty to the max. Decided I would try my bench vice to make the pinch. Tough work but that was the trick. Pinched those Stingers down almost flat. Gave a tug and the wires were nice and tight. Slipped the soft plastic covers on and, save for the orange look of the cable, the wires looked great!Attached them to my Exterminators, plugged these into my hi-output amp and my large British 'box' speakers, put on some vinyl and I was in heaven. Clean, crisp, full range sound that I knew the system was capable of but was apparently greatly hindered by the old cables. Added up the cost of this upgrade and it came to less than $50 (Note: This orange Monster cable is 250FT in length(!) tucked neatly into a carry box- WOW what a deal ).Best part: I'm sitting, 'Chivas' on-the-rocks in hand, grooving to my revamped, upgraded sound when my wife comes into the room, takes one look at the new cables and says "Oh, I like that color!". The wife is also happy- need I say more?

Product Description

Unstable Power Can Compromise Home Theater Performance To deliver all the performance you paid for, your home theater components require a consistent supply of 120 volts from your AC wall outlet. But power irregularities like sags and swells both inside and outside your home ensure that this is rarely the case. No matter how big or small your home theater system is, this fluctuating AC power can significantly compromise sound and picture quality, as well as the lifespan of your components. When voltage irregularities do occur, home theater components have to work significantly harder to deliver the quality they`re programmed to provide. This extra effort surfaces in the form of degraded audio and video clarity including one-dimensional, thinner sound and compromised resolution and brightness. Monster(R) AVS 2000 Delivers Stable Power for Maximum Home Theater Performance The AVS 2000 employs exclusive Monster technology to deliver stable, continuous power to your home theater components, greatly reducing performance-inhibiting sags and swells. Equipped with an intelligent, microprocessor-controlled variable transformer, AVS 2000 delivers constant 120V output when AC fluctuates anywhere from 80-140v, maintaining the stability power-hungry components need to accurately deliver peak power and performance. By reducing sags and swells, AVS 2000 delivers pure, consistent power for the smoothest, most natural sound, the sharpest, most vivid picture, and optimal performance from your entire system. It also features a sequential turn-on feature that initiates high power loads sequentially to prevent unnecessary electrical stress that could pop a circuit breaker or damage your valuable components. Digital Meters and High Current Outlets Provide Effortless Monitoring and Regulation AVS 2000 features three easy-to-read digital meters that provide you with constant monitoring of incoming voltage, amperage draw and voltage correction. 5A Monster of a product
By Lars Eriksson
This is heavy stuff. An excellent piece of equipment that works no matter what. The quality of the power in my house is really bad. Every time the fridge goes on, there is a brown-out. With all my home theater equipment hooked up to this baby, there's no more picture flickering or drop in sound level. Highly recommended. Please be aware of the following though; You do not get any filtering whatsoever with this unit. You must also get a surge protector or a more advanced filter unit to take care of those problems. The AVS 2000 only correct the voltage, nothing more. Comes with an 8ft beefy AC cable and must be hooked up to a grounded (3-prong) outlet.

1An 860 dollar power strip with lots of features
By HMMWV
==UPDATE 9/2008 == When I wrote this it was $860. Now it's $200 more. This only strengthens my view that a quality UPS is a better solution than a home theater product.I liked D. Bowman's review but he needs to change the word "watts" to "volts" i.e. "most neighborhoods fluctuate +/- 3 to 4 VOLTS" would be accurate, but not WATTS. WATTS is how much power YOU are using like a 100 WATT lightbulb, VOLTS is what is comming into your house and varries a little bit over a day based not only on your neighbors usage but yours as well. In the USA most homes get two 120 volt (average) circuits which combined make 240 volts for high power devices. A neighborhood uses thousands of watts. You should not need to be concerned about this to use your stereo or TV. Most every consumer product, including your HDTV, stereo, etc, is designed to handle this normal variation in voltage. Now onto the AVS2000. A Psychiatrist did a study by holding a seminar where 50% of the audience was allowed in FREE, and the other 50% had to pay $50 for the advice, which was just plain common sense. Both groups were then asked to evaluate the seminar after they attended it.Those who got it free felt "it was OK" while those who lost $50 had much more complimentary reviews like "It will be a life changing experience". This is common human nature to believe you did not get ripped off and a key to marketing high profit stereo equipment. I've heard people say that after buying monster cables for $200 their stereo sounded much more musical. I asked them to define "musical" and they couldn't.The AVS 2000 is not a life changing experience, but it does lighten your wallet several hundred dollars, and you naturally will say it's the best power strip you can buy, which is probably true. But do you need its ability? While the 2000 has some nice bells and whistles, and it does stagger the power on sequence of your equipment to prevent startup current surges, another feature I like, it is overkill for 90+% of all MODERN equipment. If you own a 1970's $20,000 stereo with TUBE amplifiers then you will probably derive a REAL benefit from the 2000's ability to regulate voltage. You MIGHT even be able to hear it.On the other hand, If your equipment was made in the past 10 years, take a look at the nameplate data (usually stamped where the power cord goes into the device) and it will likely say "Input Voltage 100-120" or maybe "100-240 volts AC 50-60 Hz" if it is meant for international markets like many products these days. If your house outlet is in the 110-115 VAC range, which most are, then your equipment will perform EXACTLY as intended without the AVS2000. A $10 voltmeter can tell you what your voltage is.HDTV won't be any better with the AVS2000 than without it. Your stereo won't be any louder with than without it. You'll have a hard time to hear anything more "musical" like the salesman said you would.Monster products tend, in general, to be well made overbuilt cables with great strain reliefs built in and oversized conductors. Their equipment is aimed at the true audiophile who has money to burn on a $100 cable instead of the cheap one that came in the box with his new DVD player. Their packaging is advertising how important the product is. They are high profit margin items for stereo stores to sell with a system that has a limited profit margin on the main item. Former used car salesman turned stereo experts will tell you how much "more musical" your system investment will be if you spend another $300 in cables or $900 in power strips. Of course you can't setup 2 identical systems in the store to see this for yourself, i.e. a direct A-B comparison like we do in the laboratory.Monster products are very nicely made, and I do own several of them, however I did not pay for mine, they were given to my lab and I was paid to evaluate them against other alternatives, and comparing a $110 monster fiber optic cable against a $10 no-name fiber optic cable showed zero difference in connecting an optical digital output to an amplifier. Being digital, it either works or it does not work. The AVS2000 does what it says. Most devices sold today, however, simply don't need it.If your equipment can tolerate a wide range of input volatages, and you are not having power problems where you live, then this is NOT the solution for you. Your HDTV will look better if you spend the money for an AVS2000 on a bigger screen. If you ARE having problems with your power, GET THEM FIXED! I had power problems and contacted my utility provider who fixed their transformer on the pole to get rid of them permanently, for free. Using a $100 digital voltmeter I could show the utility that the voltage dropped every day at 6PM when people cooked dinner below 100 volts Line-Neutral at the meter. This was outside of their specification and they were required by law to fix it.For the price of the AVS2000 you can buy a comparable computer grade UPSAPC SUA1500RM2U 120V 1500VA USB and Serial RM 2U Smart UPS System with similar voltage regulation and it will prevent your stereo/TV from shutting off and back on 5 seconds later when the power goes out momentarily during a storm. The AVS 2000 can't do that. UPSs also have surge supression and some simple metering if you want those features. This one is rackmount and will go nicely in a stereo rack, and is less expensive than the AVS2000 while doing more. (the APC UPS can make power when there is none, the AVS2000 can not)The AVS2000 is a niche item for people with older equipment that suffers from improper voltage. For most modern systems it is overkill and not needed. It has lots of impressive looking meters but lacks performance for its pricepoint.

Product Description

Without the Right Cable, Your Dolby Digital 5.1 Processor Can't Deliver Maximum Subwoofer Performance Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound technology is one of the biggest home theatre performance breakthroughs in recent years. The Dolby processor's dedicated Low Frequency Effects channel (the .1 channel in Dolby Digital 5.1) raises the bar for subwoofer performance and the overall clarity and realism of movie sound effects. If you don't use a dedicated, high performance subwoofer cable, however, you might as well be listening to those tiny speakers inside your TV. Many line-level home theatre subwoofer cables have poor shielding, so they can't adequately reject high and low frequency noise and hum. Inferior construction and flimsy connectors cause poor low frequency signal transfer. As a result, bass is loose, distorted, and flat. Music lacks clarity and effects are muddled and unrealistic-sounding. MonsterBass 400 Subwoofer Maximizes Dolby Digital 5.1 Performance MonsterBass 400 delivers all the thunderous, tightly focused bass that Dolby Digital 5.1 is famous for. From rumbling car crashes to the menacing growl of an on-screen predator, specially-designed dual solid core bass conductors deliver bass that's deep, powerful and incredibly lifelike. MB400 features high density double shielding of foil and copper for maximum rejection of high and low frequency interference. A copper braided shield rejects the low frequency electromagnetic interference that plagues subwoofers. MB400's balanced conductors plus a double shield of foil and copper braiding provide maximum noise rejection for fuller, more natural sound reproduction. Get All the Subwoofer Performance You Paid For MonsterBass 400 makes every bone chilling sound effect, every spectacular chase scene ¿ every movie sound ¿ so realistic you'll swear you're in the movie.

4Great product!
By Antony Tejada
I did some research before buying the cable for my Boston Acoustics XB6 Subwoofer. This product offers a superb response letting my subwoofer perform at its best (the way it is supposed to). I do not perceived a signal lost and certainly don't have any distorsion at all. My subwoofer is located at about 7 feet from my Yamaha receiver and in spite of the distance it delivers the tight bass and crisp sound so distinctive of Boston Acoustics subwoofers. The cable is very well made with strong beautiful looking connectors.

5Great Product
By Jai
Bought mine at Accesories4Less. It does not come in a nice package but original products. Using it with SVS Subwoofer and Onkyo ht-s9100THX Home theater. No problems at all....Quality of the SVS Subwoofer did improve. Could hear the sound on the subwoofer more crispier and with more details. I had a normal audio coax before from Radio Shack gold plated, it was really not that cheap, so this monster cable did improve the subwoofer sound for me.

By A. Boyd
Ordered this cable because it was what I needed and at the right price. It didnt come in original packaging but the cable was in great shape. It is a funny shade of pink though. Mine is 99% hidden so that doesnt matter to me. I recommend it if you need to place your sub a ways away from your components.

3Protection of your system thats all...rest is hype
By S. Kakulla
I am surprised when people say that they have noticed significant improvement in picture quality and sound with this. My home Audio Video setup includes a $4000 audiophile grade stereo system and a $2500 42 inch sony LCD projection TV. With all that money and low distortion equipment you can detect the smallest of the change quite easily. I am so sensitive to sound quality that twice my speakers were replaced due to sound distortion that I noticed (distortion that the dealer failed to notice but the manufacturer did). I am a music guy, clean music is what I care about. Believe me HTS - whatever, does not lead to a significant sound improvement. On the other hand it might bring your amp juice down. You know you have to crank up the volume knob a little more than what you would do without it. I played different CDs with and without the so called clean power and I could not observe any significant change. Your experience may differ from mine. My audio components come from NAD who are known for their excellent noise free transformers in their amps players, tuner etc.Coming to video the HDTV snowflakes are still visible. Specially in the scenes of running water. From my experience all I can tell you is, the flakes are dependent on the transmission quality. In channels like INHD, CINIMAX, HBO you wouldn't get any flakes in the picture while channels like thirteen HD are full of it (specially scenes with running water). So did the clean power make any difference ? Yes it did, given you don't change any color settings of your TV the "clean power" would dull the extra bright bleeding colors..Colors intensity looks more natural..Hey but that's some thing you can do with your color settings right !.... So why monster clean power-----answer is surge protection. That's all. Home insurance doesn't offer surge protection monster does. Not only that. Good music / TV systems are brought with a lot of passion. I have spent close to 6 months deciding my stereo system...another 2 months perfecting it. It would be sad if I loose it to a surge and that's the reason why I chose to keep this HTS what-ever clean power. :o)....and hey don't fall for the gimmick they show you on the monster cable website...My whole system sits next to an Air conditioner....In fact theoretically speaking my entire system shares the same power line as my air conditioner does....I did not notice any change even close to what monster cable guys claim :o) .... Your money your choice ....!

5Makes a difference to me- Peace of mind!.
By R. Lockhart
The 2600 MKII is an excellent surge protector and power cleaner. As far as whether you will see or hear a difference in your audio/video (A/V) signals, it depends on your home electrical source, age and quality of your home wiring and appliances, and the area you live in.I'm lucky enough to live in a newer house. My electrical is up to code and not overdrawn. I have 200amp service (everyone should have it!) to make sure I have plenty of reserve power at hand when multiple appliances are on at the same time. A/V appliances in older homes with original wiring may be more susceptable to electro-magnetic interference (EMI).You may notice when a high-current appliance, like a microwave or dryer runs, you get A/V interference. That is exactly what the HTS 2600 is designed to cure. Those who say it's only a surge-protector probably don't live in an older home where EMI is more common. It's not going to significantly improve A/V quality for those who don't have an EMI issue. What it will do well for those who don't have EMI, is provide excellent surge-protection and piece of mind for your hard-earned money. In my case, although I have no EMI issues, I live in a remote, mountainous area, where electrical surges, blackouts and brownouts are common in winter. For these reasons I choose the Monster HTS 2600. It provides all the protection I need. And it neatly sorts all your A/V AC wiring. The HTS 2600 is more than adequate for most users. For those with more than one amplifier or many A/V components, a more-capable power center may be required. Here's what I have hooked up to mine:63" plasma tvAV receiverDVD playerVCRDVRPlaystation 3Remote control charging dockRF transmitterEntertainment Ctr. lightingIt uses a household standard 15amp three-prong plug, but you may consider installing a dedicated 20amp outlet for all your home theatre needs.

5Great Product!
By A Customer
I bought this as extra protection for my Samsung 56 inch DLP and audio system. Compared to using a normal surge protector, the Monster HTS 2600 indeed provided a clearer picture, cleaning up the snow and artifacts. I haven't really tested out the audio yet. It's good for peace of mind, as I want to protect my expensive investment.

4Adequate Cutlery
By LL
I purchased these knives after having purchased and returned mundial steak knives that had great blades, but the black plastic handles faded after only one hand washing. These knives have serrated blades and are fine for cutting steak on a plate, and I don't think I would want steak knives to be any sharper than what these are, because if so, they would damage my dinner plates. You aren't supposed to wash them in the dishwasher, but I have several times now and they came through as good as new. The rose wood box is nothing special, but it's okay. Overall, for the price, I'm quite happy with these knives.

5Fantastic
By Wordhurler
I got a set of four of these same steak knives for Christmas 2004, and they've been excellent. They've seen constant use and are still razor-sharp.It's been a real revelation to me: So this is what good kitchen knives are like, and this is why they cost more than the lightweight stuff!I've never had a genuinely good chef's knife, paring knife, etc. But when I'm ready to get a serious set, I know exactly what brand I'll buy.

5Great Set Of Knifes!!
By A Customer
I just received these knifes and I was very pleased. The quality was great on the knifes and the box was even nice. You are always hesitant buying something without seeing it, but I was pleasantly surprised with this set. For the money you just can't beat it.
