5Best Raclette Grill I have used
By C. Bixel
I had been looking for a good raclette grill for sometime, after using several different styles at friends and families homes, I saw this one on Amazon. It arrived intact with all the necessary parts and is very easy to use. The grill top reverses to a crape grill which is also fun.

I recommend this particular grill above others I have used for several reasons. First, it can accomodate 8 people, while many grills max out at 6. Second, it has an adjustable temperature. We generally start out at a higher temperature then when everyone has slowed down and wants to eat slowly and talk I adjust the temperature down. Third, the grill is easy to clean. Its non-stick surface easily wipes off. I would advise to only use the included scrapers on the non-stick surface, if it gets scratched it will not be as easy to use. And fourth, it is very sturdy. This is a solidly built grill and looks great on the table. It is a little more money than some other models, but if you want to use it for years I would definately invest in the better grill.

4Great for family dining!
By A Customer
I purchased this grill a couple months ago and have used it about 8 times. My family and I have enjoyed the novelty of cooking our dinner together at the table. I have noticed that waiting for the food to cook, both the time and the effort required, has been a very enjoyable stimulus for conversation. It lends a leisurely mood to dinner instead of the usual rush to get on to other activities. It also has made getting a healthy dinner on the table easier for me after a day at work.

The night before I will usually slice some veggie's, thaw some shrimp or marinate some beef or lamb. I just grab the bowls out of the fridge and set them on the table for cooking.Everything we have prepared so far has turned out great. The kitchen stays clean and cleanup amounts to some dishes and utensils to put in the dish washer.

The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars was that the grill itself is hard to clean. I have had to soak it overnight to clean off the marinades. The grill had also begun to lose its coating surface after just a few times of use.

All in all, its a good product and the benefits of slowing down for a meal with family or friends is well worth the purchase price.

5Fun, Fun, Fun
By D. Lacy
We are having a lot of fun with this grill. This grill is great fun for dinner parties. I have now thrown 4 dinner parties using it - from basic grilling to fajitas. I plan to try the round side of the grill next for dessert crepes. Traditional raclette is cheese melted in the drawers, with pickles and cold meats. I also use it as a party activity for more healthy fare - by offering a variety of marinated vegetables - portobello mushrooms marinated in balsamic vinegar, olive oil, basil, garlic and red pepper is my favorite. I've grilled shrimp, asparagus, onions, chicken, tofu, bell peppers, sausages, sliced potatoes (I boil them a bit first.) Then I put out sauces for people to dip into as well.

I find it helps break the ice with guests who don't know one another so well, as they can talk about the grilling, etc.

My one complaint is that it would be hard for eight people to use, the most I have used it for now is six, but it worked really well for six. The adjustable heating works really nicely.

If you're looking for something new and fun, I highly recommend it. It is great for dinner parties and book club meetings (everyone can bring something to grill.)

5Cuts anything
By A Customer
I use this saw at my sign company to cut anything. I routinely cut .040 aluminum with no problem. I have also cut rebar with it and still no problem.

The only negative point is it likes to use batteries. I have two on hand because one is always in the charger. I have also cut fence posts with no problem too. Milwaukee makes great tools.JD

Malco MB48A 48-inch Portable Brake Product Description:

  • Makes bends to 135 degrees in galvanized sheet metal up to 22 gauge
  • Compact size and lighter weight
  • Accommodates sheet metal up to 4-feet wide in any length
  • Adjustable strenghtening ribs assure tightly formed bends
  • Optional legs sold separately

Product Description

Make big or small fabrications on the job with this lightweight and portable tool! The versatile Mini Brake produces bends up to 135 degrees in sheet metals, including aluminum, copper and 22-gauge galvanized steel. The brake's compact size can accommodate sheet metal stock up to 4-feet wide, in any length, because there is no fixed throat depth to contend with. Use the Mini Brake anywhere on the job site, even on a truck tailgate, for a variety of fabricating tasks from large HVAC transitions to narrow roof flashing to structures as small as a 4-inch square. Strengthening ribs on the brake's anvil and apron assure consistent bends. A safety-conscious, cam-over style clamping mechanism, similar to much larger shop-floor brakes, keeps the anvil secure in any position. Optional legs are available separately.

3An Average Sheet Metal Brake
By Stephen Tashiro
The Malco MB48A sheet metal brake is "light and portable" relative to stationary shop equipment, but it weighs about 58 lbs. It isn't anything you would enjoy carrying up a flight of stairs and it doesn't have carrying handles. The two feet that the brake rests upon slide in and out of the body of the brake. There are bolt-on clamps that you can attach to keep them captured to the body of the brake. The most troublesome aspect of the brake is the bolts that hold the handles for the clamping bar (the handles with the black grips in the photo). The threaded part of these bolts is too short and I find that the nuts tend to work their way off these bolts. These nuts have the plastic type of lock ring in them, but not enough threads of the bolt go through it. These are specialty bolts that have one section of the shaft that is oval in cross section instead of round, so you can't replace them with ordinary bolts. A bad feature of the design is that these bolts restrict how far you can rotate the clamp away from the work. The maximum clearance that you can get between the base of the brake and the clamp is about 7/16 ths of an inch. If the heads of the bolts weren't in the way, you could swing it to get over an inch of clearance. The 7/16 ths clearance is fine if you are making bends only one way on a sheet of metal. If you are bending something that has bends both ways or has ribs, you'll wish you had more clearance. The clamping bar on this brake works very well and exerts even pressure all along the 4 ft span of the bed. It would be nice if you could lock the clamping bar open while you are inserting sheet metal into the brake, but there is no such lock. The brake has no indicator to show what angle you are making with your bends.I rate this tool as three stars out of five to indicate that it is an average sheet metal brake. (It may be a better than average deal, depending on your requirements and its current price.)

5good quality, portable and [inexpensive] in comparison
By A Customer
I use this small and not to heavy break for HVAC duct work. I can carry the brake by myself and can do pretty good work with it.It's devinitly not a toy and does a great job, when you only have to use it once in a while. For every day use, you need a big break in your shop for better speed and accuracy.

Great for small projects, You just need to start with scrap to get tension settings correct before bending your project so that bends are true and sharpe

5Amazing features. Simply the best CD/MP3 (along w/ iMP-400)
By A Customer
There are well over 100 reviews (mostly positive)for the iRiver iMP-350 (SlimX) on Amazon alone,so I won't waste too much space writing yet anothercomprehensive review ...

Suffice to say, this is a great piece of gear, withall the bells and whistles one expects from a MP3-CDplayer (and more). A real gadget-freak's "dream".As another review noted, you'd need at least IQ 90 tofigure out all the features (particularly learningthe remote).

The only quibbles I have are: [1] bundled earbuds arevery poor (solution: buy better ones); [2] embarrasing'carrying pouch' (solution: 3rd-party CD portable case);[3] remote feels a bit fragile/light (better treat thiswith kid gloves, since you lost most advanced functionsif you lose/break the remote); [4] remote LCD is *small*(you need to hold it really close to your face to makeout some of the tiniest text and icons, the LCD is veryhigh-res/crisp but only about 1" across -- postage stampsized!), [5] clunky auxillary battery pack/tube (althoughit's nice that iRiver includes this for no extra cost).

I had a difficult time finding places to buy the specialrectangular NiMH batteries which the SlimX uses, not tomention a source for an external charger. I figured thefollowing might be helpful for others in the same boat:

iRiver iMP-350/SlimX uses 2x NiMH "prismatic" (gumstick)batteries of 1400mAh capacity each. These are the battswhich you install into the flip doors under where the CDspins. Apparently, these batteries are commonly used byportable MiniDisc units from Sony, Panasonic, etc. Thefollowing batteries should be equivalent:

- Sanyo HF-A1U- Sony NH-14WM- Panasonic RP-BP140H

The lowest price I've found so far [on the net, anyway]is US$/battery (Sanyo HF-A1U), from TNR Technical(notice the pricelist posted is already outdated):

http://www.tnrtechnical.com/prismatic-rectangular-cells.html

The Sony and Panasonic batteries appear to be more $$$ (someplaces sell the Sony NH14WM for UK$, or nearly US$).I doubt the Sony battery is 10x better than the Sanyo part, especially considering they both claim ~1400mAh capacity. If anyone wants to conduct a comparison please post resultshere :)

If you are considering purchasing an extra set (or two)of these prismatic batteries, you'll want a charger also. The best (only?) standalone charger I've come across, thatdefinitely works with all three types of battery [above]is Sony's BC-7HT:

5FINALLY!
By Jason Novick
After much frustration, and pulling out my own hair, it appears I have finally found a suitable MP3-CD player.

I started with the RCA RP2410 player, which froze every 5-6 minutes, and could only be restarted by removing the batteries. If you don't believe how bad it is, read the reviews. As of this writing, it averages 2 stars. Ouch.

Then came the Memorex MPD8507CP. Don't even get me started.

I thought I had found the one when I got the RioVolt SP250, but I made the unfortunate discovery that its battery life was about 15 minutes to 2 hours - not the 15 promised hours at all. Go look at my review of it for yourself, though.

I had given up on MP3 CD Players. Then, I found the iRiver SlimX. This is, hands down, the best one on the market (I'd know; I bought 3 before this and tried 5-6 others in stores). It comes with all needed accessories - AC Adapter, carrying case, remote, earphones, two special stick batteries for 13 hours of battery life, and an external battery pod which will hold 2 AA NiMH batteries to extend battery life by 10 hours. The instruction manual is great, and anything not found there can be found at their website, and/or technical support.

This player's slim design is ingenius, and the screen is on the remote - and remote can do anything that another CD player can. All the standard features are there, like repeat track/directory, resume, shuffle, program order (I believe that WinAmp playlists can be imported, too), options, and tons more! The screen itself packs all you need onto it in an organized manner (ID3 tags, volume sound balance, file type/bitrate, bass type, and more...even the song's lyrics, which can be done with a program at iRiver's website) and allows easy navigation of your music. You can plug any pair of headphones you want into this remote, and the sound quality will be great. The ones that come with it are surprisingly good.

What else? Tons (I know that's pretty clichéd, but bear with me)! This can handle VBRs (variable bit rates), meaning you can decrease sound quality slightly to reduce file size - very useful with data-format audio files. I have managed to fit 275 80 kbps WMA files onto a 650MB CDRW CD for over 18 hours of music! This player also supports MP3 and ASF files, and can read from CD-Rs and CD-RWs. I reccomend CD-RWs, so you can remove songs and put new ones on the disc. On an unrelated issue, the player also has firmware upgrades which add new features to the player, available for download and burning at iRiver's website. And unlike other players with 8 minute antiskip, this player allows you to turn that off, to save battery life!

Then there's the option screen. This lets you do the following: enter your name into the player's memory (in case someone steals it or it is lost, you can identify it), change the backlight contrast/brightness on the screen, the function of some of the remote's buttons, choose the audio CD's antishock length, turn several functions like resume, fade in, repeat and shuffle on and off, create your own bass setting, change the length of inactivity until the player turning itself off, language (35 of them, from Afrikaans to Ukrainian), change display of time remaining in song or time elapsed in song, fast foward on/off and speed, directory skip, sound balance between ears, auto-pause, and more.

I highly reccomend that if you buy this product, you buy a set of Palm Pilot stick-on screen protectors, cut one to the right size, and stick in onto the screen to avoid scratching. Hey, it worked for me!

To summarize, this is the greatest CD-MP3 player on the market. If you can afford it (took me a while to earn the money), this is the one for you.

5Honestly.... IT ROCKS!!!
By J. Bhagwandin
I had done alot of researching and searching around for a good all in one media player(You should too). I saw the 350 in a best buy catalog and decided to check it out. I was planning to get the slim sony model, i dunno what it was called... but when i saw all the features of the 350 slim x, i was blown away. I went to the store to see it first hand. I saw the slim 400 too but i thought it looked kinda boring, not as good as the 350 with that sharpish curve on the top and they both had almost the same features so i decided to get a 350. OMG it is awesome. People say it takes a while to load songs, it really doesnt. I have my super mp3 disc with 165 songs on it, over 16 hours of music, and it takes exactly 6 secs to load, which is great considering all the stuff it has to read. The firmware update works great. You get updates at iriver.com, the new update even puts the game snakebyte on to play on the remote which is great to kill some time in a train or bus. Theres even a program that lets u put lyrics on your songs which will display on the remote as the song progresses. I found the program a little hard to figure out... but i got it after reading the intructions at iriver.com. The radio sounds great. I would recommend getting better headphones, not that they sound bad, but they kinda look cheap. I have to agree with some other reviewers that say the remote is a bit hard to use at first. IT is for about the first 2 days but this is because the remote controls so much different things, i swear there are like over 80 different things u can tweck to suit your listening needs, u can have ur nam displayed on the remote, u can change the visuilzations(yes it has 3 differnt ones)Considering all the remote can do id say that it is really simple to use and the font size is just right. I have 20/20 vision but my mom has really bad vision and wears these thick lens glasses and she could read the remote fine too. My bro owns a new panasonic cd player and its so funny to put the slim x next to his. The slim x is literally half the thickness of the panasonic. and it is smaller and yet the slim x has so much more features on it. I got mine for 120. I bet if u shop around, u can get it cheaper, the 550 is coming out also, or it did, but it still has relatively the same features and i still think the 350 looks better than the 400 and 550. Well i hope this review helps u alot. I highly recommend this all in one player.Im sure there is nothing out there that can beat these slimx player, i think its all about thich of the 3 models u think look the best. O and some people worry about the brand name, iriver, its a great brand, they specialize in making mp3 players, maybe u have heard of the rios, iriver makes them. Well i again hope this review is helpful.

4Covers are a bit heavey....
By L. Dolley
I do like these and they look nice on the counter as well as being functional. Just know, the three piece set is not the set that seals. The covers are a bit heavy and my husband has actually chipped the rim of the middle size one. The 4 piece set seals and has a plastic rim on the cover and the canister that makes for "softer" landings!

5Versatile and good-looking
By CyberDad
This is essentially the All-Clad stainless steel 3 quart saucier fitted with 2 short handles. The "dutch oven" sold by All-Clad is a similar configuration of the 5 1/2 quart saucier. This is a versatile stovetop pan--wide enough for frying, deep enough for liquids, good-looking enough to carry to the table. It can also slide into the oven when needed. It may not be big enough to do a traditional 19th century cassoulet, with large hunks of meat and a gallon or so of beans, as one poster complained, but it functions quite well as an "everyday pan" for up to 4 persons. The dimensions of 9 1/2 inches by 3 inches (plus handles) fit the 3 quart capacity into a compact shape, with a rounded bottom for easy stirring. If you are looking for a versatile "do-it-all" pan, this is a good choice.

5Custom cookware for classic French dish
By B. Marold
The Cassoulet is a classic French stew which, according to the Larousse Gastronomique is 'A dish, originally from languedoc which consists of haricot beans cooked in a stew pot with prok rinds and seasonings. A garnish of meats, which varies from region to region, and a gratin topping are added in the final stages'This is a somewhat pricy piece of cookery for something designed to do a particular, somewhat complicated dish. I originally bought it with a gift certificate to a good cookware store because I wanted to be sure I had something both durable and distinctive. I have since found that the size and shape of the pot, aside from the superior All-Clad construction is excellent for both braises and thick gratins, two of my favorite types of dishes. It also happens to be just the right shape for whisking sauces and making baked pasta dishes and casseroles (note the similarity in name) such as macaroni and cheese. It is especially good for dishes where you want it covered for most of the cooking, with an uncovered browning step at the end.Excellent pot, especially if you simply cannot live without every possible piece of French cookery!

5It's not a saucier but it is handy
By Friend
I have this pan and use it often and do like it. As far as I can remember it is different than the 3 qt saucier. I recall the saucier having a smaller bottom surface area with more rounded sides. I remember being unimpressed with the saucier for that reason.I use this for blanching vegetables all the time...it's good for asparagus. Also smaller batches of pasta sauce and smaller type casseroles, mashed potatoes, etc. Overall it's a very nicely sized pan. This pan comes much closer to a true everyday pan then anything else all clad makes. The 10" & 13" "everyday pans" or braisers don't have high enough sides to be very useful IMO.My dream pan would be very similar to this but larger. Maybe a 4.5 qt version. That would be big enough to make a sauce and add the pasta at the end, also big enough to brown, say 6 pieces of chicken and then braise them in the same pan. Too bad they don't make it. None of their other pans get it right either...if the sides are high enough they tend to sacrifice precious bottom surface area for an overly rounded design.
