5Well worth the money
By J. C. Gomez
I originally purchased the Milwaukee to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt on my Honda, but couldn't get it off the first time. The garage torqued it way too much the last time I had the timing belt changed so I paid a local garage mech ten dollars to break it free. As it turns out, even the garage air impact wrench had a little trouble and that guy could deliver 600 ft-lb or torque. He retorqued it enough to get home and I was able to do everything else just fine.Everything else went well and the Milwuakee had no trouble removing lug nuts and other nuts/bolts. How much torque applied depends on how hard you push on the tool. The lowest torque is 100 ft-lb and I guessed when torquing the crankshaft bolt to 130 ft-lb. That and a little Medium grade Loktite should keep things nice and tight until the next time. There are similar models, but there are several things I like about this impact wrench above the others. The first big thing I liked is the variable speed which is nice when you just want to snug-up a nut or bolt. I also like it over the rocker switch since it is similar to working a drill. The second big thing I liked about the wrench is the switch for switching between forward and reverse. Again, this is a directional switch similar to a drill. The last thing I liked about the kit is that it comes with a case and a few sockets. This may be minor, but being that I'm not using the tool all of the time, it's nice to have it nicely packed away and ready to grab when needed. The sockets only add to the value since these can get expensive. With the current $25 discount for purchases over $199, it only makes sense to spend a little more and get a lot more.I'll be using it again for mounting a tow hitch and other general automotive work. Well worth buying.

5true to its specs
By A. Barnes
I ordered this milwaukee after returning a dewalt impact wrench from another seller. The dewalt was my first choice because its specs says it has 345ft/lbs of torque compared to the milwaukee of only 300. But sad to say the dewalt can't even loosen the hand tightened lug nuts of my SUV. I had to bring it to a dewalt service center (which is 40 miles away from my locaton) to make sure that it is working as expected. Expectedly I was told it was working perfectly! I decided to return it since I don't have any use for it except for rotating and changing tires of my cars, and of course I paid for the return shipping since there was nothing wrong with it.Then I ordered the milwaukee from amazon(unfortunately it was only my second choice since it was less powerful than dewalt per spcs). It arrived just in time and it loosened all my lug nuts incredibly with ease. From the feel alone while using it, it was far more powerful than dewalt. I hope this review will help those of you who are in a quandary of choosing what the best impact wrench for personal use to buy. Make no mistake like I did and save some bucks by going with MILWAUKEE!!

4Great tool
By -1
I've used my Milwaukee 9072-22 several times now, and it's a great relief to have it available. I use it for DIY automotive work, and previously, I despised removing/installing wheels. It's such a hassle to do with just a ratchet or a lug wrench.I can't be sure if the 9072-22 lives up to its torque rating, but it sure seems powerful. One of my vehicles clearly had had its lug nuts tightened by an idiot armed with a pneumatic impact wrench. The 9072-22 struggled to remove some of those lug nuts, but it eventually got them all.I love the variable-speed reversing (VSR) feature. This works as a dial built into the trigger. Turn it counterclockwise to reduce the speed (rotations per minute, RPM) and impacts per minute (IPM), or clockwise to increase them. When I'm installing wheels, I turn the dial all the way down, then tighten each lug nut until I hear 3 or 4 impacts. At the lowest VSR setting, the IPMs are low enough that you will be able to count them this way. Before relying on this practice, I used my torque wrench to see how tight this made each lug nut, and it comes out to about 20-25 lb./ft., which is ideal. Of course, I finish tightening each lug nut with a torque wrench.)At 6.0 pounds, the 9072-22 is not burdensome to use. And if you keep the trigger squeezed for more than a couple seconds at a time, it's loud, but that's what earplugs are for.The one thing I dislike about the 9072-22 is the pin detent anvil. The "anvil" is the male 1/2" square part of the tool that goes into the socket or adapter/extension you are using. Being pin detent means that to secure the anvil into whatever accessory you're using, you have to push the pin down with some object (e.g. a flat-blade screwdriver) while inserting it. To remove the accessory, you have to insert an object (e.g. a small allen wrench) through the small hole of the accessory to push down the pin, while pulling the accessory off. This isn't the biggest deal in the world, but I find it to be a hassle nonetheless. I'd much prefer one of the other anvil designs. My workaround has been to use a 3-inch extension that has a hole in its female end for the 9072-22's pin detent, but lacks its own pin detent on the male end. I keep this extension on at all times, even during storage. I thought I would have to cut away part of the 9072-22's case to make it fit with the extension, but it fits, and the case closes just fine with it on.

5Simply the best trackball ever made
By SirWired
I have used a Logitech Trackman Marble (this product's predecessor) since it was released in 1995. I still use that original one at home. (When was the last time you used a computer product for nearly eighteen years?) I use it enough that I can feel the difference between the muscles on my right thumb verus my left. I love it so much I have gone so far as use my soldering iron to replace the worn-out button switches. (They happen to use the exact same switch as the ubiquitous MS mice.)This device fits my hand like a glove, and saves desk space since it never needs to move. The lack of rollers isn't such a big plus since the advent of optical mice, but it is still nice. While this is a stupendous product, you should never buy a pointing device or keyboard for the first time via mail-order. The only way you will know if it fits your hand is to go to a physical store and try it out. It may fit my hand like a glove, but it may not fit yours.

5Say goodbye to wrist cramps.
By A Customer
I have had this product for well over a year now. I am a heavy computer user and using a mouse was just putting a huge strain on my wrist, so I decided that maybe I should look into mouse alternatives.

Well, my first choice was the Kensington Orbit trackball, based on reviews on this site. All-in-all, it is a great product, but it has 1 tragic flaw which killed it for me - it gunks up incredibly quickly; I am talking on the order of every hour or two. I returned it to the store from whence it was purchased (hint: the one with a big yellow tag). Strike one.

My next choice was what is essentially a corded version of the Logitech Cordless Trackman FX Optical Trackball, which was probably simply called the same thing, minus the "Cordless". The up side - it has several buttons; this device did nothing about my wrist cramp problem, however. Strike two. (Side note: I don't really see the point of getting a cordless trackball or keyboard, unless you are just dying to have more battery-powered things.)

Choice number three: the Logitech Marble Mouse (which is a trackball, despite its name). I just plain could not get used to the feel of it and it did very little to ease strain anyhow. A lot of people on this site have good things to say about it. I, however, do not. Guess the third time is not always a charm.

Well, I finally ended up with (you guessed it) the Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical. While it takes some getting used to, once you get a feel for this, you will never even want to go near another mouse. It has two buttons and the scroll wheel which also doubles as a third button when pressed in, although I never find myself in need of this third "button" myself. This is probably the most ergonomic pointing device you can hope to get...that is, assuming you are right-handed. Sorry, lefties, looks like your choices are considerably more limited when it comes to trackballs.

While being an optical device, the ball bearings upon which the trackball itself rests do tend to need cleaned off once or twice a day, but this only takes a few seconds and is not nearly as time-consuming as cleaning off the roll bars on the non-optical Kensington Orbit, and these cleanings aren't nearly as frequent, either. I don't think you are going to be able to buy a trackball that doesn't need cleaned fairly often, and this one does a nice job of making it a relatively painless affair.

The software allows you to set the directional orientation (which way is "up"), among other things, though I have not even bothered installing the software since I started using Windows XP.

Bottom line: If you are right-handed and have your own computer, buy this. Just make sure you give yourself a day or so to adjust to using it. You shan't be dissapointed.

5Logitech Makes the Best
By Warren Holzem
This is my third Logitech trackball. The trackball it replaces is a Logitech Trackman that I bought in 1995. Nothing attached to my computer was anywhere close to that old.

I finally got tired of cleaning the ball on the old Trackman. My wife has both an Logitech marble trackball and a Logitech optical cordless mouse, and I wanted the best, too.

While each new Microsoft OS has had problems with the older version of Mouseware software, in my experience, Logitech is always the first to have updated drivers available shortly after release of new OS's.

After using the trackball for about 5 months, I'm still thrilled. Sure, the gunk from my oily, sticky, food-covered hands still builds up on the ball, but unlike mechanical mice and trackballs, it doesn't cause sticking and jumping of the cursor. The action was still smooth. I had not even noticed that it was getting harder to move the ball until I popped the ball out, and gave the contact points a quick cleaning.

So even with five months of built-up grime, it was still working just fine.

Now not everyone likes trackballs. I use a mouse at work, and it's probably better for me to be moving my whole arm. But at home my desk is too messy. There's no room to move a mouse, and even if I were able to, I'd hit my elbow on something else.

Not for one minute have I regretted buying this trackball.

4Very nice force feedback joystick
By Douglas Welzel
If you're a (flight) simulator fan, this joystick is really worth the money. It is well built with a nice feel and feedback effects.

When I was shopping for force feedback joysticks I was torn between this and the Logitech "3D" model. I have to admit, the Logic had a nicer design. The stick itself had a slightly better feel and the throw on the throttle control was longer and more precise. However, I decided to go with the Microsoft model because of the positive experience I've had with their force feedback steering wheel. Just like the wheel, the construction on the joystick is very solid. I expect this will stand up to a lot of abuse.

This stick is not without it's drawbacks. First, the throttle control is a bit small. I would like something a bit bigger and with a bit more resitance. Second, the force feedback is only activated when you are fully grasping the stick. This is actually a neat feature, but can be annoying when you don't feel like "properly" holding the stick.

4Expensive joystick, decent force feedback
By Pauly C.
Wanting a controller for racing and flight sim games, I purchased the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick. The first thing I noticed is that it seems to be well made. It is quite heavy, but not too heavy to hold. The force feedback is the #1 reason anyone would buy this, and this feature varies from game to game. On some games, it felt totally unnecessary and didn't add anything to the game. On others, it complimented it nicely. The feedback response seems to be strong on this controller.

I would recommend this controller to anyone that is *really* into gaming. Otherwise, forgo the feedback and just get a regular joystick. If you play console type games or shooters, get a gamepad!

One thing to note - whatever you do - do NOT lose the CD that comes with this. It contains the drivers needed to install this joystick. Microsoft does NOT have them on its website. Windows XP will not auto-detect and install the joystick.

5MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 works good with Windows XP
By A Customer
I have seen some of the negative reviews on how the Force feedback 2 works with Windows XP. My experience has been just the opposite. The joystick works very well with Windows XP. I followed directions and installed the software first. This took about 15 minutes, if you don't include registration. Then, I plugged the joystick into a USB connection, tested the buttons. They all worked, and then I plugged in the power. I am using it with Microsoft flight Simulator 2002, and it works perfectly every time. KUDOS TO MICROSOFT.

3Good player for the price, but has its problems
By Eric C
I'm a bit of an MP3 old timer, having been around the block with a Rio 500 and a Nomad Jukebox, two of the most popular MP3 players out there. I decided to sell my Rio because it used SmartMedia while my digital camera uses CompactFlash and I wanted to consolodate to one memory card format. I perfer CF for a number of reasons, but I'll save that for another review. I'll use the Rio 500 as the basis for comparison, because it is very similar to the Lyra in many ways.

The Lyra comes with a great accessories kit, including a car adapter and an external USB CompactFlash reader. These components alone are worth around $50. The headphones aren't great, but they do include a removable inline remote control and are much better than the earbud type headphones that come with the Rio. The FM tuner is a great feature if you like to listen to the news occasionally (as I do). The Lyra is playback only, which is to be expected, but it would have been nice if you could record a voice memo or from FM broadcasts.

What is a little unusual about the Lyra is that it has no internal memory -- everything is stored on the CompactFlash card. In theory, this should make downloading music to the Lyra easier, because you don't have connect the player itself to your PC, you just place the CF card in it's USB reader. If you have multiple CF cards, you can store different playlists on each and easily switch between them, unlike players with internal memory. Unfortunately, because of SDMI (digital rights management) restrictions built-in to the Lyra, you can't just drag and drop music from your hard drive to the CF card for playback.

This is where it gets a little weird. The Lyra doesn't actually play MP3s at all -- you have to run your MP3s through a converter (a driver for MusicMatch, RealPlayer or Windows Media Player), which outputs them to 128 bit "mpx" files, which only your Lyra can read. This cumbersome routine is to prevent you from sharing your MP3s with others. Now you know why people hate SDMI. I believe you can dump WMA files directly to the Lyra, but who besides Bill Gates uses the WMA format? The Rio 500 had none of this SMDI nonesense.

But then it gets a little weirder still. The software to actually play the "mpx" files on the Lyra is also stored on the CF card, instead of in ROM! This is kind of cool in that it makes updates to the software very easy and allows the possibility that someone will be able to hack it to play regular MP3 files. The downside is that it takes a few seconds for the player to "boot up" every time.

The Lyra weighs substatially more than the Rio 500 because it requires two AA batteries instead of one. Oddly, the additional battery doesn't seem to increase play time much over the Rio, however. A few ounces may not seem like much, but it makes a big difference when you're jogging with it clipped to your shorts.

The Lyra is a good player for the money, particularly if you need a CompactFlash compatible unit, but the SMDI "feature" really degrades convenience and usability. Be forewarned that most players are SMDI compliant these days and will have similar problems (the Rio 500 being the notable exception). In other words, if CompactFlash vs SmartMedia memory isn't a concern and you don't need an FM radio, get a Rio 500 before they discontinue them!

5RCA Knows Audio...
By A Customer
I Got this one at Radio Shack, for $..., it was listed at $.... ... deal, and yes I am talking about the 64 meg. The one bad review I have seen of this device on this website seems to be coming from some nitpicker, who can not discern between, the red and green light at the intersection, I find people often have strong opinions on topics they "know" little about. The deal with his gripe, let me say that 128k BRS is not just fine it is excellent for good quality audio, if one needs it any better they would stick with WAV's now wouldn't they? Part of the reason for having a Mp3 player is the understanding that you will be giving up the precious bit of sound quality "barely discernable quality" in return for no skipping, no more wasted CDR's, and all the other advantages that solid state music provides. The Software they provide does seem to be the only encoder that will allow a Mp3 to be put on the card, if you try and place it directly on the card it will play the digital sub harmonics as best it can, but it's like calling a fax, and expecting that to be a voice. It has a bright backlight screen, simple interface, Duracell, batt., street style Ephones, cord mounted volume and track selector with a shirt clip, oh yesss even a car adapter. I wanted a Lyra when they first came out, but at the time I was too poor, so I settled for a RCA cd player. It served me well but 20 burned cd's and two pairs of Hphones later, it was time for a change, this is it. If you jog, workout whatever, don't screw with cd players and all their false promise's of anti skip B.S. fact is mechanical action (that is to say motor spinning a optical disk) will fail under the most mediocre conditions. This will not.

4One of the best
By L. Goreham
.... It is relatively small and it has a wonderful backlit display. It also has great hacking abilities because all of its information is on the compact flash card (no memory is built in) you can customize the startup screen (to whatever you can imagine or draw)

The fm radio is great it has good reception and 15 station presets. Now ask for the software it came with, it was good too, but the headphones werent all that. It can compress songs on your computer from whatever the bitrate to 128,96,64,and 32. Unfortunately it cannot go over 128, which doesnt matter because a 320k song would take up alot of space plus the audio quality isnt much different.

When it came to trasfering songs to the card it was fast, assuming all of the songs were at 128, if they werent then it would have to compress them (which longer) but who cares, you dont have to trasfer songs that often. I fit about 30 songs on the card at 96k and the quality is great! dont think so ? then the lyra has a built in graphic equalizer so you can adjust each music channel so it sounds like it playing at 320k. So it poses no problem.

Although it takes 2 batteries it is relatively light and it can fit in you jean 5th pocket (the small one on the right). The remote is good and you can adjust the songs by touch alone, it also has a plethora of play options, repeat, repeat 1, shuffle, shuffle repeat, and like 3 others it has a program option too.

This is a great mp3 player it it better than the rios because to expand them you must buy thier "backpacks" and a 32mb backpack goes for like 50something whereas a 64mb compact flash goes for the same price.

The headphones are a tad thin but who gives great headphones away anyways, I would like it better if they were a little thicker on the padding for my ears but I'll buy a new pair anyways.

This is a great player, it converts the mp3 files to mpx but it has extrodinary abilities to expand considering all of the system data is stored on the card so it is also easy to upgrade. ...

p.s.- many of you are worried on how loud it plays, turn the graphic equalizer to "custom" and it will pound your ears away!

4Good "road show" choice-very durable and reliable.
By David J. Gannon
I do a lot of PowerPoint presentations at customer and prospect sites and I have come to depend on my InFocus LP280 Projector by In Focus. It is a very good traveling unit. It has very good resolution for a unit in this price range. More importantly, my experience is the unit travels very well. It s well constructed. The carrying case is also very rugged and provides excellent containment and control of the unit on the road while also allowing very quick and clean accessibility at airport check points.

As with all InFocus products, there are some caveats. The operating system is logical but not intuitive. It therefore is key that you take some time to get comfortable with the operation of the unit with the input device you are using BEFORE your big presentation. If you don't, you are guaranteed to look like a doofus no matter how stunning your presentation.

Changing the bulb is not a breeze. If it burns out, take a 15 minute break and take your time. The unit does not come with a spare-buy one up front and carry it with you. Bed advised the bulbs are expensive, even if you can find them at a discount.

The support equipment that comes with the unit is superior. It includes a remote control with batteries, carrying case, VGA Cable, S-video cable, RCA cable, USB cable, PS/2 cable, power cord, documentation set, and lens cap

The unit is compact and very light in comparison to most competitive units-also a plus on the road.

This isn't the unit for top of the line presentations in very large halls-for that you need to bite the bullet and get a superior unit, such as the LS110. However, it goes for over five grand-not the sort of thing you want to be playing "football" with in airports, so to speak.

The unit is warranted for 2 years-a plus, though my experience is finding repair facilities for InFocus is difficult and turnaround is awful.

All in all, a very solid unit and good value for the money.

5A very satisfied buyer
By Gerald White
I just purchased my first Big screen TV. I would like to say I did a lot of investigative work before i settled on the Toshiba 50A61. For the price ,quality looks workmanship I'm very happy about my purchse. I looked at HDTV,Wide Screen and all brands checked Best Buy, Sears, Wal-mart you name it ..But the picture is so clear and the features are some of the best for this price range.. I would suggest this television to anyone not looking to spend on the high end and still have a tv set that is top notch..you can't go wrong ...

5nice buy not over price
By E
Most clerks in the big box store will push you to buy hdtv wide screen. They are great but there is so little programming to see and the little there is requires a "STB" that cost 700 buck. Add in Dish or direct tv plus to access local hdtv station you must put a antenna on you roof. So i compared the major brand look at the non hdtv by sony, mit and panasonic. I felt the tosh is cheaper by hundreds of dollar. Also has the best picture to me but you really can't tell until you set it up in your home. Mine's look great even on cable. You can find this tv online or check at bb after a holiday maybe as low as 1100.

This is one of the best consumer products I've purchased. I bought a large number of the previous version/model in 1995, and have upgraded to the 29451, which has the LCD/liquid crystal display, a better speakerphone, and a few extra functions. The amazing characteristic was its remarkable intercom function - just plug in the power and the phone line jack, and you have an instant intercom. There is also a "paging" system, or broadcasting function. Quick-dialing programming, redialing, conference calling, and call transferring ( to another phone within the office) all work flawlessly. The speakerphone is excellent, although you have to allow for the fact that reasonably-priced speakerphones are not "two-way" -- the microphone transmits speech only one direction at a time; if more than one participant speaks, the sound is blocked.

5I can't kill this phone...

I've had this model, plus the predecessor for about 14 (!) years and we now have 6 phones hooked altogether...both the earlier version and this version all work together & work perfectly...I keep wanting to upgrade because I think after all these years I think I must be missing something, but everytime I check online, I see I'm only missing cordless capability. I hesitate to spend money for a new phones when these work great...I think I hosed one the other day with an electrical spike, so I'll probably end up buying a replacement... and not a whole system!Best decision I ever made to buy this phone system!

1Phones do NOT work!!!
By Santana Kortum Managhan
I ordered this phone for our law office in November. After several weeks, it arrived. The new associate started after the holidays. Line two did not work. Contacted seller. His response was that he was not going to do a thing about it not working b/c we did not contact him sooner. His phones do not work and he's not not easy to work with or willing to exchange. In short, we were stuck w/a $140 phone that does not work. I would not buy from this seller again.
