Old Dutch Graphite Pot Rack

My fiancee and I had looked at many different style potracks and had been the most impressed with Enclume but the price was very high. We had recently decided to change how to hang our All Clad Stainless cookware to just plain bars when I decided to look on Amazon.com. I found the Old Dutch PotRack and decided to purchase it for the looks, what our needs were and the great price. We just love the potrack. It was very easy to hang, has a very solid look and feel to it and it looks great in our kitchen. We now have our All Clad Stainless cookware easily accessible. We decided to take out the grate in the middle to be able to hang our large roaster. I would recommend it to anyone.

excellent value

I shopped on line and at high-end retail outlets to find the best pot rack for the money. Obviously, this rack is a Chinese copy of a classic Enclume design. Honestly... pot racks are not a high tech kitchen innovation! I decided that the prices of the Enclume racks must be for their 'designer-label'. The Old Dutch rack is more sturdy than it's Calphalon competitors. The finish is quite good, though not like a custom Harley Davidson. It needs only to not corrode and that is more than adequately accomplished. Assembly and hanging are simple, and I like the hanging hardware and good supply of hooks (24) that are included. They are also well finished in matching chrome. My one reservation was that the curved support stringers were not stamped perfectly, and they did not align perfectly where they met at the upper bolt holes. That turned out to be inconsequential once it was near the ceiling and became invisible when it was loaded... When loaded up with high-performance cookware, this rack makes a very strong decorating statement, "We COOK here!" ...no designer label nor extra expense needed!

Very nice built!

I purchase many kitchenware from Amazon, because they have good quality items for sell and the customer service is superb! They respond e-mails within 24 hours.

As expected, this pot rack came well packaged, well built, and has a heavy and sturdy mass to it. I love it! Because the way it's designed, the pot rack doesn't need you to balance the cookware. I have seen many pot racks that hang by two steel ropes. As you can imagine, if you put too many pots on right then it's going to tilt toward the right. But not this rack, all you have to do is to balance just a bit, then you are ok. Icouldn't believe how heavy in mass this pot rack is when it arrived. It definitly is money worth paid!!

Highly Recommended! Get your peace back from telemarketers!

We are totally satisfied with this 2-line answering machine. We have a Siemens 2420 Gigaset phone system but the built-in answering machine is poorly designed so we disabled this function when we got our AT&T 1782.

We used to have a couple of dozen messages of only fast tones/beeps when a telemarketer would call and hang up. Now we only get real messages from real callers. It took me about a half hour to setup but it really isn't that difficult. The features are really worth the effort.

If caller has a blocked number, we use the pre-recorded message that we do not accept blocked callers and it hangs up without a chance for the caller to leave a message.

If a caller is unknown, ie, caller-ID doesn't show up, then my recorded voice announces to the caller that we do not accept telemarketing calls. We have it set that the caller can leave a message, you can have it hang up also, because sometimes a known caller's number sometimes don't appear (fault of the phone companies not the answering machine) and it gives them a chance to leave a message or say please pick up. We also have it set so while it is ringing it announces "Unknown Caller". Best of all, it is smart enough to know after a telemarketer calls and there is either silence or the annoying beeping, to not to record a message and hang up.

You can record separate messages for normal callers for line 1 and 2. It also has a feature for 10 known phone numbers so that you can announce to us while the phone is ringing who the caller is and the option to have a special message play to that caller if you are not home. A wonderful feature during dinner and other times when you don't want to answer the phone or even look for the caller-id!

There are many other features that I don't have room to describe. We have also tried Telezappers and they do not work.

We have our privacy back and now know who is calling without having to even look at the caller-id. This product is wonderful! I am tickled on how happy this product makes us.

We LOVE our "talking answering machine"!

How many times have you been in another room, heard the phone ringing, and thought "I wonder who that is??" -- without having to go and check the Caller ID. Well, with this answering machine -- you can!! You can program up to TEN phone numbers into this machine, with your own pre-recorded announcement -- such as, "This is Mom, calling from her cell phone". So whenever "Mom" calls, you will hear that announcement, shortly after the first ring! This has been so helpful to our family. We have two young children, and we don't want them to answer the phone if it is a stranger. But if they hear the pre-recorded announcement -- "This is Dad, calling from his office" -- then they know it is OK to pick up the phone. I think this particular feature is so valuable.

Even though this answering machine is made to answer TWO phone lines, we only use it for ONE. So it is just a little annoying (when programming it) to designate "Line 1" versus "Line 2" -- when we will never use a "Line 2" -- but I think that is a very small inconvenience.

Also, the quality of the digital recording (both for callers hearing your greeting) and for playback of messages isn't quite as clear as other high-quality digital machines that I have heard. But once again, I am willing to sacrifice a little bit of the recording quality for sake of the other features which we find so useful.

We highly recommend this machine.

Yes, this machine has a lot of bells and whistles but the sound quality is so poor that I cannot understand a great many messages that are left. That's why I'm looking for a new answering machine. Stay away from it.

Rival to the Champ, Boss to the Foreman

This grill seems inspired by the smallest George Foreman grill, the "Champ." But there are some significant differences: (1) The Champ has a square grilling surface. This one's is oval, with perhaps a slightly smaller area.(2) The Champ has an open front, with a separate little splash tray that's supposed to catch drippings. This grill has a lip surrounding most of the front, except for a 2" well that drains into an integrated drippings drawer. (3) The Champ is tilted forward to force liquids to drain out. This grill is basically level, with drip channels.So I bought this one, which seems less messy -- especially for gooey stuff like cheese panini -- and more flexible. If you block the well with a strip of cardboard, you can even use it to cook omelettes or a kind of waffles. The only downside to the lipped front (vs. the Champ) is that you need to scoop veggies off the grill, rather than simply dragging them out the front. There is no timer or on/off switch -- you just plug/unplug it.The upper plate floats maybe about 1" above the lower plate. If you want to press thicker panini, consider the Hamilton Beach 25450 Panini Press, available on Amazon for about 2-1/2x the price. It similarly doubles as a contact grill, but it's larger in all dimensions, with about 3"-4" of vertical float. (Its plates have pinstripe ribbing, though, so don't try using it for eggs or waffles.) Or the similar Breville SG620XL, which has flat plates that can be used for fried eggs or pancakes.

Small but effective

This grill has a smaller surface than the smallest Foreman, but so far everything I have wanted to grill has fit (steak of any size might be a problem). Fat drainage is far better than the Foreman, with the little drawer beneath catching the drippings. I don't find this any easier to clean, though (too bad the grill parts aren't removable). Only real complaint is that the drippings drawer is not in any way attached to the grill, so when you pick it up to remove it from a cupboard to use it, or to return it to the cupboard, you have to grab it in such a way to hold the drawer in place (or go back to get the drawer separately). Can't imagine why they didn't include some slides on the side to hold the drawer up with the unit. Otherwise, a nice little grill. Certainly well worth the price.

Best Topo Software I've ever used.

Maptech produces the best mapping software I've ever used. I've tried the rest, now I stick with the best. Being a Geography major in college, and working in the mapping industry now, I've used all the others, but maptech is by far the best. Detailed topos, great overlays, outstanding GPS hookup, and the 3-D graphics are unbelieveable!!!!! For anyone in a mapping field, or anyone looking to spice up their outdoor adventures, you have got to get this software.

Good product, Poor customer service

I agree, this software is good. Great detail. The 3D feature is over-rated, though, for my uses. More of an image gimmick than actual representation of terrain. More importantly, though, my software suddenly "lost" one much-used quad sheet, leaving white space in it's place on my screen. I also lost all the markers and trails associated with that area, which included several day's work. Called their customer service for assistance and was connected to a very rude, arrogant, and unhelpful technician. Result: no fix. The company needs to back an excellent product with helpful and knowledgable technicians.

MapTech and my Garmin GPS

I bought my Garmin E Trex Vista on the recommendation of the salesman, telling me that I can "hook it up to my computer, and download maps". Even the manual that came with the GPS gave a quick blurb about adding their MapSource software to add "detailed map data" to the very limited map that's built-into the unit. So I investigated both the Topo maps, and Recreational maps at the Garmin website, and both seemed quite a bit more detailed, even though my favorite lake looked only like a rough representation, with only one hill. Then I checked out Map Tech, and the detail was ten-fold! It showed every little slope, and accurately depicted every inch of the shoreline, so I bought it. The only glitch I noticed, was that the cursor on the map is supposed to show elevation, but if you follow one line thats supposedly following a contour, it's plus or minus 15 feet as you scroll, and when I pointed at the lake, then at a thirty foot hill, it showed the same elevation between the two, where the field right next to it accurately showed every foot difference of elevation But when I tried downloading the maps into my Garmin Vista, I found the only thing you can transfer back and forth between the GPS and computer were waypoints, tracks, and routes. So all I could download were little dots on that screen, which shows my lake as a blank field. Garmin Website tells me the only GPS units that accept map upgrades, (Mapsource only), are the GPS12 Map, GPS III+, E-Map, GPS Map 295, and the Street Pilot. I guess all I can do with the MapTech is print the maps to carry to the field, lug my lap-top with me on a hike, or buy a handheld, but someone else wrote that his Compaq works,but not Palm? All I wanted was a small GPS, which I could take on a hike, and have it show me very detailed maps, so I could find the best routes, and I'd never have to worry about getting lost. This one only shows main roads, how to get back to your starting point, and little lines to follow if I pre determine a route at home.

This doll is one of the best Rhett Butler dolls I have come across! Just like the Scarlett O'Hara barbie collectibles, this doll looks just like Clark Gable, in the scene where he is saving Scarlett, or taking her from Atlanta, (from the movie, "Gone with The Wind"). His outfit looks just like the one from the movie! As a barbie collector and a Gone With The Wind collector, I would recomend this doll to every barbie and Gone With The Wind collector!

This is a wonderfully sculptured doll. He looks exactly like Clark Gable (who played Rhett in Gone With The Wind). He comes with a shirt (that looks like the Gone With The Wind era) which includes a vest, and ivory colored pants, a jacket, and a matching hat! Also included is his doll stand. His boots look alot like in the movie as well. This will make a nice addition to anyones collection, or just beside either or both of the Scarlett O'Hara dolls.
