5Corded blower
By Peri_P_Laneta
The blower does what I bought it for: blowing dust and debris out of my garage workshop and blowing leaves for yard cleanup. It's not as powerful as a blower with a gas engine, and it is limited by the length of the extension cord it's connected to, but I've been very satisfied with its performance.

5Well made, with power to spare!
By Erik A. Adams
I'd made due with my 3/8" drill in the past and borrowed whenever I needed larger, but I knew that wouldn't cut it for this summer's project. The time had come to bite the bullet and invest in a substantial heavy-duty drill. I'm happy to report that the project is nearly complete and the DA4031 has delivered in spades. I chose the Makita over the DeWalt Timberwolf and Milwaukee HoleHawg because of the added power (10 amps) and features. The Makita's spade handle adjusts 90 degrees to any position with an Allen wrench that is stored cleverly in the handle. The auxiliary rubber-grip pipe handle screws into either side. Best of all, the switch handle rotates a full 90 degrees in either direction at the press of a button. These combined features make the drill comfortable to hold in any position. That's good, because at 12 pounds, this is a serious piece of equipment...

Now back to the project. In building my deck, I affixed the ledger board to the house with twelve ½" x 10" galvanized lag screws (3.5" of ledger board, 2.5" of wallboard, 10" of sill beam). I pre-drilled each hole to depth with the DA4031, then (using a ½" drive socket adapter) turned each lag screw in flush (final tighten by hand). These were done one after another, on a hot day, with no sign at all of fade from the drill. The final tighten required a ½" x 18" breaker bar, so I know turning the lags in was no cakewalk! I then used a ½" x 12" self-feed auger bit to drill sixteen holes through 9" of lumber for the lag bolts on the cantilever support. The DA4031 has also drilled all the holes for my railing support posts. Final verdict? Nothing on this project came close to stressing this drill. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of construction, ergonomics, or power. I will probably never come close to using this drill to its full potential, but I like having a quality tool with more than enough power to get any job done. The DA4031 has both these bases well covered.

5great right angle drill
By mine
amazon was great, great price and quick shipping...the drill is wonderful.having owned and used the hole hawg in the past, this ones better.im a plumbtrician so i need to drill holes from a half inch to five and a half inch diameter on a daily basis.i use my inch and an eight 18" naileater and even in southern yellow pine it hardly bogs the drill down.use sharp bits and be sure to read the directions for bracing the drill.it will hurt you quickly.....

5Last stud drill I'll ever buy...
By John Welch
I've been using this drill for a few weeks and my only regret is that I waited so long to buy one. This was purchased to replace another angle drill I had been using (yellow and black) that didn't perform to my expectations, when it finally died I went with the Makita. It's not the least expensive, but I've always had good experiences with Makita products in the past, so the choice was easy.I've been boring holes in treated lumber, studs, joists, glue lam beams, ect.. with a self feeding bits, and this drill powers through with no problems. Only downfall is the Allen key holder that is built into the grab handle, the wrench tends to fall out sometimes, this didn't keep me from giving it 5 stars, I just leave the key in the case.

4Big, Big saw
By James A. Russ
This is THE tool for cutting 4xs and 6" Glu-lams. I was surprised at the smooth opperation of this saw on doug fir glu-lams and SYP 4x8s. The 32 tooth blade is the correct unit for very good cuts while framing. The only thing I do not like about this tool is the thumb safety button. Re-locating it to the forward handle would be a big help and ensure that the operator keeps both hands on the saw when starting it. I found myself using my left index finger to press the "safety" button to start each cut, therby removing my L hand from the saw. My right thumb is too large to work the [safety] button.

5Tough Jobs demand tough tools
By S. nettis
The 5402na is defintly a powerhouse. It slices through 6x stockwith ease. The electric brake stops the blade on a dime and the blade stablizer is wonderful. I strongly reccomend this saw for anyone who works with 6x or 8x stock on a regular basis. It really saves time and effort.

Great saw, cuts well with plenty of power. Electric brake stops on a dime. Guard works well. The only downfall is the safety switch is awkward to reach while holding the saw and trying to pull the trigger. As a post and beam framer I would recommend this saw.

5Hitachi Stapler
By Carl D. Andrews
A very solid staple gun. So far I have shot almost 10,100 staples through it without a jam. Depth adjustment is decent. haven't used that to much so far. I turn my compressor down or up according to application anyway. If you are using kiln dried white cedar shingles you don't want to be hitting them with 110 psi even if the depth is set, get me? I have also used this tool for Sheetrock strapping using 2" staples, but primarily cedar shingle siding. A great multipurpose and light gun.

3Nice, but...
By A Customer
I bought this stapler new, and I must saw the thing is beautiful to use. I use it for framing so the thing gets a lot of use every day. The only issue I have with it is the magazine for the staples is made of plastic. I did not think it was a big deal until one of my employees let it slide off the roof we were sheating. The magazine broke cleanly in two. The rest of the stapler is very well built, but I think that the magazine should be made of some sort of metal, say magnesium or aluminum. This would make a good stapler, the best stapler in my opinion.

5Hitachi Wins Hands Down
By R Naneek
I'm a redwood/cedar fencing contractor. I've tried many brands of nail guns - Senco, Porter Cable and others, only to have them go belly up and face a repair bill which is greater than the cost of the original gun. Several years ago I switched to Hitachi framers and (15 gauge) finish nailers and have never had a single breakdown - and they're used day in and day out. Recently I contacted to build a 300+ foot wire fence. Not wanting to hand hammer 4 to 5 thousand staples, I bought a Hitachi N5008AC Stapler. It was superb! Not a single glitch in that many firings. I highly recommend this stapler.

4Smooth Operator
By Scot R.
I wish my car ran as good as this drill. This is my first Hitachi tool and its the smoothest running drill I own. And I have lots of different brands. Plenty of power, enough to drive 3" screws into pressure treated lumber with ease (while being in a tight space). The controls took a little getting used to. It has an on/off switch with a speed dial at the bottom. But it's very easy to shut off, just tap the switch. It's got the old fashioned keyed chuck, but after going over it, you can get into tighter spaces with it (especially with the side handle off). Keyless chucks are bigger so you can grab hold of them. Whether your drilling or driving, this is the perfect tool for tight spaces.

5Hitachi excellence and attention to detail!
By T. Turner
First of all, I want to clarify something in another review of this product. The type of switch on this product is for tight space! It is impossible to maintain a firm grip (control) on a power tool and operate a paddle switch at the same time. I have used tools in both construction and automotive all of my working life. For example: the old Snap on air ratchets had a index finger (trigger finger) switch. The other inexpensive tools have a paddle switch that all of us in the business call, knuckle busters! I own both types. With a paddle switch type, if the tool is under load or starts to get away from you, of course you can't just let go of the tool to shut it off! If you hang on, as we all do, your hand and tool can become sandwiched between other material such as 2X4's with nails or screws or sharp metal. I had it happen with a high torque air ratchet, where the tool was under load and pulled my hand into metal radiator, shroud and fan blade, tearing the flesh from my knuckles and the back of my hand. While screaming in pain, I had to contort my body and use my left hand to disconnect the air line from the tool to shut it off, after the damage was already done! This is probably not going to happen in construction but you get my point Why do most high speed grinders and cutters not have these paddle switch's???? Hitachi engineers were really on the ball with this tool design! Once again "one up on the competition"! The best in it's class! I bought this tool for the following reasons: the type of on off switch, speed control dial, reverse and forward, and of course Hitachi's excellent quality and ergonomics. I am delighted with all of my Hitachi tool's, great tool's!

4Nice, but............
By Willy
I bought the Hitachi mainly based upon price because I don't intend to use this drill on a daily basis. There are some times that only a right-angle drill will do. It is well built and a solid performer but the slide swith is a real bummer! Mostly you will NOT want the drill to run continuously. I whittled away the small catch on the slide (good-bye warranty) and find a much better drilling experience. I now control when the drill runs. But for the switch I would have given it 5 stars.

5All around GREAT product for any kind of digital artist
By D. Bligh
I've been using the Wacom Intuos2 9X12 Graphics Tablet at my job for roughly the last six months...The bottom line, it's just a great product..Here's why...

I won't go through all of the features of this tablet, because you can read that in any other review on this site, but I will tell you what I use it for, and what I like and dislike about it. (And there isn't really anything that I DISLIKE about it.)

Right out of the box, I could tell that this was a well built product. It's not overly light, and it just feels "strong", if that makes any sense. It feels sturdy. In the box was the tablet itself, the pen, the mouse, some very easy to understand instruction, and 2 cd's. One for the installation of the tablet, and the other for the installation of the software that comes with it. Procreate painter classic, and Photoshop.Installation was a breeze. Plugged it in, put in the cd, clicked "yes" a few times, and I was using it. (I'll note here that I use mine on a VERY beefed up Gateway system running Windows XP Pro) After the simple installation, I took it for its first test drive. I put the pen on the tablet, and starting moving it around. Let me tell you, it took some getting used to. But don't worry, I felt like I was a pro at it after about 10 minutes or so. The toughest part for me to get used to while doing sketches was to not look at the tablet while drawing, as you would while doing a drawing on paper. Looking at the screen and not looking at my drawing hand was a new experience, but once again, I felt fine with it after 15 minutes or so.

So after I felt pretty good about using the pen on the tablet, next I moved to the wireless, battery-less mouse that came with it....To put it simply, I didn't like it at all! It seemed to glide really fast across the tablet, and it just seemed extremely light and just hard to use. After trying it out for a few minutes, I put the Wacom mouse in the desk drawer, and that's where it has stayed for the last 6 months. Maybe I could have gotten used to the feel of it with more time, but I didn't get this thing for the mouse, I got it for the pressure sensitive pen!

I got to work right away using the tablet for the art that I do for work. Plainly put, it makes it 100 times more fun, faster, and easier using a pen instead of a mouse. Let alone a pressure sensitive pen like this one. The kind of work that I use it for is things like designing logos, architectural sketches, taking something out of a photo that doesn't need to be there, etc. And I use the Procreate Painter Classic that it comes with almost exclusively for this kind of art work. I use Photoshop to do most of the coloring, and straightening up of a piece of work.

In conclusion, this is a fantastic product, from a company that I really "trust". I heard about the company when I started to talk to fellow artists in my area about good tablets, and they all said that Wacom's Tablets are the kind to go with. I now see why! Theirs is the only brand of tablet I've ever used, and the only one I ever care to use. I see no reason to venture off to other products, because I'm completely happy with the Wacom Brand.

Like I said above, I use the 9X12 size. I believe they make them 2 sizes smaller, and two sizes bigger. But for what I use it for, 9X12 is DEFINETLY big enough, and I can see no reason to go any bigger.

All in all, great product from a great company, and if you can get one, you should. Even if only for play.

To let you know how much I stand behind this product and this company, I recently ordered a Wacom Graphire2 4X5 tablet STRICTLY for myself, for home use. Just to have fun with. I'll write a review of the Graphire2 when I get it and test it out. But from what I've already heard about them, they're just as good of a product as the Intuos2 that I use now.

To sum it all up, this is a great product all around.

5Awesome
By A Customer
... I needed to buy an Intuos2 for my classes. I choose the 9x12 tablet. It took a while for me to get used to using the pen, but now I love it! I spend nearly 6 hours a day on the computer. Now I reach for the pen for nearly all my mouse-ing needs. It is much easier on soreness caused by repetitive stress. In addition is it much more precise. This tool is absolutely awesome! This item is a must have for anyone doing a lot of graphics work!
