Clean with a soft cloth. Avoid paper towels.

The beautiful silvery metal used to form this bowl is very soft. I was very disappointed when I first cleaned my new bowl with the Nambe cleaning polish. The bowl lost it's mirror-bright shine and developed a softer patina. I did use a soft paper towel to clean my bowl that time, but I think the paper towel may have been too abrasive for the surface of the bowl. I have since cleaned it hundreds of times, with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, without further heartbreak.The reflective surface of the Nambe bowl multiplies everything within it, which is very pretty. One floating blossom, brimming with Christmas balls, or filled with red grapes, the effect is stunning . Use the bowl as a serving dish and bring a special accent to any meal. Chill with ice water, or heat by running hot tap water into it, and it will hold the temperature of the food while at the table. Transfer food into it just before serving, and store leftovers in a different container. The metal will mar easliy, so use caution when scooping or cleaning, and never use a fork or other scratching serving tool.My Mom gave this bowl to me for my birthday several years ago. It was my first piece of Nambe, and it took my breath away. We remain fascinated by the grace and beauty of this bowl. We love the enchanting bell sound it makes whenever it is lightly struck. The elegant lines and sparkle of this Nambe bowl make it special enough to keep on display, but using it often is even more delightful.

Another beautiful serving piece from Arthur Court

This serving piece is really quite lovely. The aluminum base is just gorgeous. It has an open vine design with grapes and leaves. Also the aluminum is very low maintenance and unless you spill something very acidic on it, it will stay looking amazing for a long time. The aluminum base is 20 by 11 inches as measured from the very outer edges/handles. The included 3 quart glass Pyrex dish measures 13 by 9 inches and is a pretty standard size, meaning if this one happens to get broken, I will be able to replase it quite easily. I love the look and functionality of this piece and it makes a grand statement on any table!!

Lets go "GeoCaching!"

This is my first handheld GPS. I'm using it for my new hobby - Geocaching. This unit works great. Use free software to download waypoints into the GPS, and then just follow where it points. The unit is small (fits in my pants pocket), and light, and has all the features you might need, including back-tracking if you make a wrong turn. It holds plenty of waypoints (locations) and 20 routes, which seems about standard for handheld units. It has several different ways of displaying navigation information, so you're bound to find one that works for you. If you're looking for something with lots of built in maps, then this may not be the right unit for you, as it only has a 2Mb base map and 6Mb for downloadable maps. For in-car navigation, I plug this little guy into my portable computer and run Microsoft Streets And Trips and get a whole computer full of maps. When going off-trail, I take just this unit, where maps aren't much help anyway. I've used it to locate 3 "geocaches" so far, and it has put me within a couple of feet every time. The WAAS support is great for getting good accuracy.

By the way - don't purchase the add-on memory SD card accessory - this GPS doesn't take add-on memory cards.

A Great Value

I've had this GPS for five months and am extremely satisfied with it. I've never before owned a product that gets better as time goes by as this one does. Magellan continues to update and improve the software. Their latest software revision added two of my favorite functions, average speed and maximum speed. It also can show you the terrain ahead, only Magellan offers that feature.

There is no question that it takes some study to learn all the possible functions this unit is capable of, and the users manual is marginal at best. But there are many other resources available. There's a Yahoo group devoted specifically to the SproTrac series. Folks there are willing to help with any question. If you are into newsgroups, check out sci.geo.satellite-nav. And a great place to begin your research into GPS's is at gpsinformation.net

Good Features, Nice Unit

I have a poor sense of direction and wanted a portable GPS unit to (1) use when traveling in unfamiliar places, and (2) to be able to map out some places by plotting points. I haven't plotted points yet, but have taken it on the road a fair bit.

I looked seriously at units from Magellan and Garmin, but decided on the SporTrak Map primarily because of its features and a ... rebate.

I have owned this unit for a little more than a month now, and really have enjoyed it. It has a nice "breadcrumb" tracking feature which will let you save a route previously traveled. It has plenty of memory for my uses, though I have not purchased map additions yet. The basic map included has major interstates, US highways, airports, cities and some other details.

I also purchased a cigarette-lighter power adapter for use on the road. The backlight feature has two levels of brightness, and I had been traveling for a little over two hours with the power adapter and the unit on "bright" when the backlight went off. It wouldn't come back on again despite pulling power, removing the batteries and reinitializing the unit (wiping out all memory). I got a return authorization from Magellan, sent the unit back via ground freight and got it back within a week, also via ground freight. The service was exceptional. Magellan even threw in a couple of goodies with my returned unit for my trouble.

I certainly recommend this unit, and the only reason that I didn't give it five stars was because of the light failure. Other than that, I have been very satisfied.

SportTrak a great tool , at a great price!

This is my first GPS but I did some research before spending the money. The SportTrak is compact and lightweight,has a long battery life and is surprisingly accurate. We take it traveling to see distance,path we took,speed we are driving, where the next city is... and Geocaching! A great family hiking, hunting activity where the GPS comes in handy for the cache. The screen is easy to read and understand. It has a back light for nighttime use. We have had ours for two weeks and are truly glad we picked this SportTrak unit.

Grerat product, user interface could be better. Love it.

I bought this unit to use for Geocaching and I recommend it highly. My minimum requirements were that it have WAAS (allows better accuracy under certain circumstances, often as good a 3 meters) and 12 channel operation (gives more consistent operation when the view of the sky is partially obscured, or changing, as when in the woods). This unit seems to be the best value given these requirements.

Overall I am very pleased with the unit. I like the fact that it allows some customization. For intance, one can choose which screens are shown (for example some views are not usefull for geochaching).

My biggest complaint is that the SporTrak, like many electronic devices, has a user interface that appears to have been designed by engineers without any "human factors" experts on the team. Its not a really big deal, but if the user interface were logically thought out I'd have given it a 5 rather than a 4.

Particularly since I only use it ocassionally, I find myself frustrated sometimes by the not-very-intuitive steps need to program in new waypoints and selecting a destination.

Very good unit and a very good value.

Very easy to use and extremely accurate

I have only had my Magellan SporTrak for a few days and it has already amazed me with both it's versatility and precision. It only took about 5 minutes to get it up and running the first time. It has so many features and can hold a lot of waypoints/routes. The receiver can track up to 12 satellites simultaneously, and even though there are normally only 4-8 sats. in the sky above you at one time, it allows accuracy to the foot (my experience). This GPS is a must have if you are into hiking/hunting/fishing or even just for vehicle navigation. It has a strong, rugged design but is still very attractive. It is so easy to use and there is no way you can beat this price.

Neat Game

I am very happy with this game, with one exception: The "doghouses" and "bird nests" are just brown houses and red hotels. Making them different shapes would have been a nice touch. The game board and cards are so cute, and the money is too. Definitely a good purchase for a Peanuts fan.

The Gang's All Here

This Monopoly set is perfect for anyone who has fond memories of the comic strip Peanuts. As you travel around the board, you can buy the classic characters (Peppermint Patty and Marcy to Pig Pen, Woodstock, and Snoopy) or locations and situations (the pumpkin patch or kicking the football). Probably my favorite change is the railroads, which are now holidays (must own Christmas). The tokens include Lucy's psychiatric booth, Schroeder's piano, and Woodstock. And Snoopy adorns all the money. Even the font used on the title deed cards imitates the style of printing used in the strip for 50 years.

As others have noted, the "nests" and "doghouses" look remarkably like houses and hotels. While a little disappointing, it doesn't dampen my enjoyment of this incarnation of the classic board game.

Peanuts Monopoly

This game has alot going for it with the Peanuts gang as its theme. The board, money and tokens are superb. The major disappointment, and I do mean MAJOR is the fact this game does not have customized pieces to replace the houses and hotels. They have colored the houses brown instead to represent Woodstock's nests, and left the hotels as is to represent Snoopy's dog house. It is a shame that after all the careful design work that went into this game, the manufacturer took the cheap way out and didn't properly finish off the game. You will notice that all the new monopoly editions are like this. They just color the houses and hotels differently, and still claim , as they do on Peanuts, that it is a "completely customized game".

Palm Nailer Kit

Since nails must be inserted one at a time, this is not the best tool for someone with thousands of a specific type of nail to drive. However, it will serve in place of an array of nail guns for those who must drive a variety of different nails. In addition, it is safer since the nails are driven by successive blows rather than shot out of a gun.

Small finishing nails go in straight and can be driven flush with the wood surface. Countersinking is not possible since the driving blade is too big and leaves a mark, but it is a simple matter to countersink them by hand. The point of each nail is placed exactly where it is supposed to go, so accuracy is very good.

The biggest nails in my shop are serrated barn nails about 8" long, and this tool drove them through a 6x6 treated beam like shoving a knitting needle through styrofoam.

The hammer tip is good for pounding anything you would normally hit with a hammer. It drives wood through my doweling plate fast and I will probably find alot of other things to bash with it.

My compressor is small and fairly old, but this tool doesn't need much air to run. Also, the case is well designed and holds all of the considerable accessory parts firmly in place when not in use.

This thing is great!

I have always used a framing hammer to nail joist hangers and usually on every job I bang my finger once or twice while trying to hold the hanger/nail and hammer. I used this tool for the first time today and was amazed at how smooth it is. It comes with quite a few different accessories for different types of nails and it comes with an air hose connection. I had to nail one hanger with only 5 1/2" between the hanger and the adjacent wall and the palm nailer handled this easily. I was expecting this tool to be rough on the hands but was surprised at it's smoothness and tons of power. This is a tool I wish I had bought years ago.

Ease of use with prior elbow injury

I am in the midst of building a deck. I and my partner have used this palm nailer from day one of construction. It is easy to use, very controllable.Without this palm nailer I would have blown my elbow out with a conventional hammer and nails. Each joist hanger took 6 nailsTwo hangers per joist=12 nails. 28 joists x 12= 536 + nails in hangers and all went in straight and without hesitation.To date, this is the best purchase I have made that saves wear and tear on my elbow.I recommended this for anyone who needs to drive an enormous amount of nails, especially through joist hangers where aim is critical through pre made holes..V.M.Steel, NY
