great for heavy use

I am a sous chef and I use this knife to break down everything from shell steak to veal chops, and I love it. I also like the flexibility of the blade. It holds an edge very well, with minimum touch ups. Overall I am very happy with the Wusthof line.Edit 4/6/05: Still using it, still like new, almost 3 years of almost daily use later. Can't beat Wusthof!

A dangerous knife -- because you will LOVE it!

I use the 6-inch version, the wife loves the 5-inch version. Highly flexible yet strong, Wusthof's classic design allows you complete control over the blade. I think buying this particular boning knife is dangerous because you very well might find yourself reaching for it to the exclusion of other, more useful knives for other tasks. A boning knife is designed to remove meat from the bone, but it will do just about anything else you want. Buy it if you think you need it, and when you use it, you'll thank yourself.

Great for cheese and everything else

I received this knife last christmas and immediately fell in love with it. It's heavy for it's size, feels great in your hand, and just looks really cool. It also cuts great. Cheddars and Swiss don't stand a chance, as well as peppers, boneless meats, tomatos, and anything you can think of that doesn't need a really stout, heavy blade. The holes in the blade make any meat or cheese just slide off as soon as the cut is made. It's just a quality piece of cutlery. Now if only you can get someone to buy one for you.....

Excellent knife; has stood the test of time

I purchased this soft cheese knife 5 years ago. I love both how it looks and how it feels in my hand. I use it several times a year. It has remained sharp and still cuts well. The way it cuts soft cheese is a dream. The knife doesn't bunch up the cheese and have to be worked loose like other knives.

This cheese knife has held up well. It still looks great, good enough to put on a cheese tray for company. I've kept this knife in a drawer with the rest of my knives. I do wash it by hand, not in the dishwasher. Otherwise, I've taken no special care of it. I expect this knife to meet my needs for a very long time.

I've had similar experiences with any Wüsthof product that I have purchased.

On thing...this is not a watch. It is a dive computer. I would not get this to wear around except on dive trips.

I've owned one for almost two years and the best feature I can think of is that its very simple to use. It takes care of all the administive details for you. Depth, dynamically keeps recalculating how much time you have left at your current depth, safety stop timer, when you're topside it keeps track of your surface intervals and refactors for your next dive. No flying warnings appear as appropriate.

It made me a more aware diver. When I started using it, I noticed it kept beeping at me telling me I was ascending too fast or descending too fast - ie breaking rules. It was annoying at first but the sad fact was that I was breaking rules and didn't even know it and I was putting myself in a higher risk category. I paid attention to the warnings and I think I'm safer for it. Now my Suunto doesn't beep much when I dive.

The algorithm it uses is very conservative so I'm comfortable.

It is not air integrated so you still have to look at your pressure guages. But if you rent your equipment or you're a new diver, this is the first thing to buy (literally buy it with your mask, fins, snorkle, and wetsuit) before you start going out for regulators or BCDs and stuff like that. It just takes makes diving more enjoyable. Its especially useful for multiday dive trips where you're renting gear every day...it keeps track of your no fly times which on long dive trips can extend more than 12 hours so the computer tells you when not to fly.

Titanium is very light. I use the plastic strap mostly because its easier to put on and off with a dive suit. The Titanium strap looks cool though. I generally don't wear it as a watch...its huge and you can tell its a dive computer - if you're 6'5" maybe you can use it as a watch. I do wear it on diving vacations though as my primary.

It has a bunch of features too nitrox mixes, dive planning, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

An interesting thing is that if you break too many rules or do something that puts you in a higher risk of microbubbles and things like that, it will give you warnings telling you not to dive. I received one of those infractions once. Consider it your diving police officer. It is pretty merciless though.

When I get home I download the data to my computer and it tells me exactly what I was doing.

Good diving computer

This is my first diving computer. I was pleased with its functions and ease of use. It logs all your dives and you can transfer them to your computer. It really simplified logging all my dives.The computer will track your every aspect of your dive and you can set warning for depth and time. It tracks your dive time, surface time, no flight time, ascending speed, recommended safety stop and mandatory stops.Overall I am very happy with it and every diver should have one.

Common Product, Great Price & Service

It's difficult to rate a product like this, but I marked it down some since I previously had one that failed to give any where near the service life that it should have. Nice CD player/ should be compared with 925.

I just wrote a review for this models sister model. (the DEJ925) I've used the liberty of editing my former review and changing it wherever necessary. Please compare the models because they do have differences.

Anyway about this model: This one is made in malaysia. It's no biggie, the quality seems consistent either way but it just feels different. the 925 is made is japan. Functions: It uses G-protection which gives you skip free playback as long as you DONT RUN. Running is going to make any CD player skip. G-protection is a bit different than normal protection. It reads beforehand and stores the music in memory and reads again when depleted. So there is this ongoing on/off spinning that goes on. Basically it goes on/off every 5seconds or so. It also reads at different RPM's when moved toward or against inertia. Confusing? Just take my word for it. It comes with an optical out (for those who need it for MD recording), and CD-TEXT. CD-Text is rarely used in US CD's so unless you burn CD's with text you won't see any letters on your remote control. This biggest drawback with this model is that it won't read CDRW's. It will read CDR's though. Only a few select CD players will read CDRW's. Not this one. This model comes with NICD rechargeable batteries. This is pretty important though because the batter life is different. But even with NICD it will be sufficient. 925 uses NIMH. As for size, 925 is a bit smaller and lighter but this is very compact too. You can't compare with some 80dollar model. The remote control is backlighted. no display on the cd player itself. (size reasons)

If you do plan to get this feature full CDplayer, do take good care of it. It is delicate and I doubt it will appreciate let's say desk high fall. OUCH

Excellent cd player, with only 2 faults. It won't read CDRW's and sensitive people might dislike the ongoing read/pause cycle with g-protection.

To conclude this review, you all must be wondering why this model is 50 dollars cheaper than the 925. 1. Country it was made. japan vs malaysia 2. Design differences. Materials/ size/ weight 3. Battery. NIMH 1400 vs NICD 600 (both are gum type) Perhaps I'm getting too technical but simply put the 925 can play twice as long as the 825. Other than these differences since they are from the same lineup they are very similar

I love my DEJ825

I cannot say enough good things about this Sony product. I am happy with just about every aspect of this disc player. And I'm afraid that I'm going to have to disagree with the other reviewer on the running thing. I run 5 miles a day, six days a week. I've had the DEJ825 for almost a year now, and I can say that it has only skipped three times in all those months, and each time, it was very close to when the batteries need recharged. I've had it out in extreme cold, extreme heat, humid conditions, windy conditions, all sorts of weather. This thing has been a great companion on my runs.

Sound quality is decent

I know I'm not supposed to write more than 1 review on 1 topic but I forgot to comment on sound quality. Such an important topic. Simply put. The megabass is as expected from sony. Not good. I just stick to normal because all bass does it make it muddy. If you get good headphones or earphones, like the sony mdr-888 (too bad it costs a bundle), it will sound great. Bad sound quality is not because of the CD player. More than that is it the speakers. As for the remote it is the same one used on MD's these days. It has bass, enter, pause, display and play mode buttons the the top side. (five) Hold on the bottom and a cool jog wheel on the side that controls both track and volume. The remote itself is a little big but very! functional. Great.

Very reliable.

I've had my Cobra 29 for over five years now. It's been in four different trucks, and traveled over 500,000 miles with me. Once I added two wilson antennas and a power mic, I can get out over four miles on a good night. My personal record is a line of sight 130 miles from a mountainside. I love it. I was thinking of getting a galaxy, but why? I have a great radio here.

A Good Radio...

I recently bought and installed this radio in my truck, and I have not had any problems yet!!! A few minor details are the noise blanker seems really sesitive (sometimes when it is on I do not receive any traffic) but that is about it. I enjoy Cobra products, this is my second radio (I just traded up from a 25NWXT), I have a Cobra HG2000 Antenna, and I am waiting on a Cobra Mic for my radio. So far no problems with any of it and I hope to have none down the road!!!!!

Excellent Mobile CB Radio

This is an excellent radio for anyone interested. I have used every function, including the PA, and it performs marvelously. The "night watch" feature is very handy, basically the entire face glows and has an adjustable intensity. I have used a few uniden's and a few other cobra CB's and this is my favorite so far.
