4DO NOT CONFUSE NT1 WITH EXPRESS 3000!
By B Ardell Young
I arrived at this site while searching for information about Adtran Express 3000 ISDN modem. The NT1 and Express 3000 are ISDN modems but individual users need to use the Express 3000.The NT1 is designed for multi-users, though it can be configured to work with one user but it cannot generate the promised speed 480kbps to the typical home user, for various complex reasons. Two major problems are additional expense to upgrade ports and software to handle speeds over 230kbps and inability of my ISP's to provide necessary equipment for speeds over 115kbps.However, the Adtran Express 3000 modem is easy to setup, durable and handles almost any problems without involvement of user. It does not handle power surges or lightning so it is wise to use a powerful surge protecter that cost around $100.00+ that will stop power surges. The strip surge protector cannot save an ISDN modem.APC backup/surge protectors have stopped lightning twice for me but the best protector is unplugging from electrical outlets and phone jacks when a thunderstorm is in the area.

5Tripp Lite UPS
By Douglas Lewis
This is a Very nice unit. It'll run my Novell Server for about 30min before shut-down. What I'm not very happy about is the unit that I got from Amazon.com was an old unit. It was almost 2yrs old when it came thru the door. The unit was faulty out of the box and when I called Tripp Lite, I was told that my brand new unit was almost out of warranty. Tripp Lite did make good on the warranty, but I was inconvenienced for about 3 weeks.Tripp Lite is GREAT, but beware of Amazon.com

5replaced previous UPS
By Edmund Galicki Jr.
Had the same model before and it lasted about 7 1/2 years so replaced it with the same model since it worked so well for me.

4good buy
By Sterno
Great price for features, I really shopped around. Only negative is that all 6 plug slots seem to be "on battery' and I would have preferred to have several to function only as a surge protector and not to use back up battery power in case of power failure.

5It keeps my PC stable, even when high-current items are turned on.
By Michael A. Palero
I live in an old house with matching old wiring.Whenever the air conditioning toggled, whenever a microwave would turn on and whenever the washing machine and dryer switched cycles my computer would turn off.Eventually, after all the dirty current and power loss to my computer, power supply blew up.I bought a UPS, but these conditions quickly ruined the battery and then my graphics card stopped working. Not wanting to take another chance, I purchased this line conditioner. Now my PC stays ON even during A/C toggles and microwave use.The UPS protecting the PC rarely triggers now and the new battery is much healthier working behind this line conditioner. If you have an expensive gaming console, computer or television running in a house with dirty power, you need one of these!

1Deceptive advertising - DOES NOT regulate voltage
By Brett Buck
I purchased this power conditioner/regulator recently. In testing, I found that the output voltage followed the input with no apparent attempt to regulate the voltage. In talking with the manufacturer, it turns out the unit does not regulate in the normal sense of the word - it has a huge deadband that causes it to ignore normal line voltage variations. I was seeing from 113.5 to 119 out of the unit. I would also note that the spec sheet supplied indicates that for an 87 volt to 129 volt input, the output is 120. It doesn't to that. I am planning on returning the unit ASAP.

4Adequate for the price
By lem
I tested this on a circuit that's always been susceptible to voltage drops due to load...When I'm running a single computer on the circuit:118 volts measured at wall outlet.Line conditioner led reads 'normal'.118 volts measured at conditioner's outlet. (seems to be just passing through the voltage when it's operating in the 'normal' range.)When I add ~150 watts of load (lights):116 volts measured at wall outletLine conditioner led reads 'low'. (audible relay click accompanies this change)126 volts measured at conditioner's outlet.Adding 800 watts of load (space heater):102 volts measured at wall outletLine conditioner led reads 'very low'. (audible relay click accompanies this change)120 volts measured at conditioner's outlet. So it works quite well, correcting 102 volts to 120 with 1000+ watts of load; but the corrected voltage can overshoot a bit (eg, if your input is just barely low enough to trip the 'low' correction.)I originally hoped the voltage correction would me more continuous, but this isn't the case; there are just a few levels of correction that are tripped at certain thresholds.Plastic construction could be better; there's a little bit too much flex on the frame when I plug things in.

5great
By John Stanfield
We have power issues at our office. Sometimes lights go dim for several minutes on end. Rarely do we have a power failure, but we have very "saggy" power. This device compensates for it perfectly. We have 4 non-critical servers connected to it. We did not want to go to the expense of a UPS because everything connected to this line conditioner is not of extreme importance. Our mission-critical servers are maintained by an off-site managed hosting company.I'd also add that this is one of the few electronic devices that I've encountered that actually has wiring (12 gauge) that matches its advertised capacity. There are so many devices (vacuum cleaners, air compressors) with ridiculous labels like "10 amp" or "5 HP" that have wiring that would cause fires if such labels were true. This device has the wiring capable of sustaining its advertised and intended load (2400W / 120V = 20A which requires 12AWG wire).

5Tripp Lite
By Tom
I'm purchasing a 2nd one of these because I was so happy with the 1st one. I've added more equipment to my rack which necessitated the addition of another 20 Amp dedicated circuit. I added another LCR2400 to handle the job of conditioning and protecting the equipment on that line. While this unit is not as fancy as some of the other units, I believe it outperforms them and is a great value to boot. I have about $20,000 worth of amps and electronics in my rack and feel confident that these units will do their job to provide clean, regulated voltage and surge protection if called upon.

5An excellent product
By Bruce Jones
I purchased this for my son electronic equipment, and as a DJ he has a LOT of it. Turntables, mixers, a PA system, amplifiers, the works. It has been used for many months and provides solid, steady current. A very good choice to provide clean current to electronics.

4One caveat
By Book publisher
We have used LC-1800s since the early 1990's and have only one complaint: if one of the mechanical relays that maintain the 110-120 VAC output fails, the associated indicator light on the front of the unit will still function as usual, and the user will thus not be aware of the failure. The result is that the equipment connected to the LC-1800 will be subjected to brown-out or over-voltage conditions. The only way we have found to monitor the proper operation of the relays is to periodically plug our LC-1800s into a 140 VAC autotransformer, attach a VOM to one of the output duplexes, and slowly turn the autotransformer voltage down from 140 to 87, watching the VOM to see that the relays engage the various secondaries on the LC-1800's transformer and thus keep the output voltage in the 110-120 VAC range. Before we began this monitoring, the main power switch on two different LC-1800s failed due to overheating. On each unit, one of the internal relays had failed, allowing low input voltage to flow through to the load and create an over-amperage draw that exceeded the rating on the power switches.

5Unexplained Computer Problems Disappear
By Andrew D. Pitonyak
Clean, regulated power is important for a computers, stereos, and high end video equipment. Surge protectors and UPS units do not clean the power well, they simply clip surges and spikes. High end surge protectors units filter some harmonics (harmonics are usually introduced by motors, furnaces, Air Conditioners, freezers, etc).A Line Conditioner corrects for high and low voltage, and cleans the voltage.I own a few LC1800s to solve pesky problems.A friend's computer, which was connected to a UPS, would turn off after 6 to 48 hours. The computer did not have this problem when it was at a different location. I took the computer and ran stress tests for four days with no problems. He took it home and it turned off within two days. I loaned him home an LC1800 and he has not had a problem in two weeks.A computer at The Ohio State University failed every six months. We added an LC1800 and the computer ran continuously for more than three years with no problems.I have a dedicated line from my breaker box to my computer and I still use an LC1800, which feeds my UPS. I rarely turn off or reboot my computer (unlike Windows, you can update a Linux computer without a reboot). I use one just to be safe. I still use my first LC1800 from more than ten years ago.Although most people, including myself, probably do not require this level of power protection, it is safer. If you experiences difficult to explain behavior, be certain to try one of these units.

3Beware of annoying hum
By MSY
I assume this model does the job it is intended to do, but when I hooked it up to my desktop computer and peripherals, I found it also emits a hum that is annoying (to me, at any rate) and is louder than the fan noise from my computer. I was informed by a company rep that this hum is normal. It's unacceptable to me, so I returned the unit.

5Very good processer
By A Customer
I really did enjoy this product it was a cheap upgrde that my computer needed desperately. My games just would not run on my old 133Mhz system but a 400Mhz they seem to run just right all my other hardware runsmoother with it as well my soundcard gives better sound, video card is 10x sharper, and my modem connects at a tad bit higher speed. I don't know if it has to do with the processer but I'm guessing it did cause everything is running better. The only hard thing is it tends to overheat sometimes, but other than that awsome product overall!

5Very Good Processor
By G. Tada
I upgraded to this processor a few years ago. The Spectra is a rock solid upgrade for me. I upgraded mine from an Intel Pentium 133MHz to the AMD K6-2 400MHZ Evergreen Tech Spectra 400. It was a great investment and still going strong and healthy. My system was an Aptiva C33. Overall it is a superb product of quality & reliability.

4Simple, reliable USB KVM
By HARM
Pros: As far as USB KVMs go, this is one of the best I've ever tried. It's very easy to use, reliable and (to its credit) uses a physical button, not hotkeys to switch between PCs.Cons: Would like to see an updated model that has a button for *each* PC, instead of the single button that sequences through each on left-->right. This is probably due to Microsoft's USB drivers not Tripp-Lite, but sometimes when you are using one PC then switch to another & switch back, the 1st one loses the USB connection. Especially true when running WinPE.
