5For the money you can't beat them.
By B. Roach
The livingroom in our new home just doesn't have a place for free-standing speakers due to the floorplan (very open to the rest of the house, with a fireplace in the front corner). This ruled out using my existing (high-end) theater speakers (large towers).I went to the local big-box store, and the only set of in-wall speakers they had that I thought were worth buying were a set of Klipsch that came in at $600 per set. I almost went for them, but after measuring I found they were about 2" too wide for where I needed to install one of them. The $300 Infinity set sounded horrible. They didn't sell Polk Audio or Boston Acoustic, which was actually what I wanted to look at.So ... I figured at $140 from Amazon, the RC65i's were worth a shot. I'm glad I did - price vs. performance these are an excellent set of speakers. Decent dynamic range, and actually a surprising amount of bass if you don't have a subwoofer (though I recommend having one - you can only get so much out of a 6" speaker). Now ... are these "amazing" speakers? Well ... no. They do not compare to my aforementioned towers. Those towers were also $900 a piece. They also are not nearly as good as the $600 Klipsch in-walls I looked at. If you think you're going to get amazing clarity and dynamic range for $70 a speaker ... you're going to be disappointed. What these are is a great everyday speaker that will sound decent to most people under most conditions. They are a *slight* bit muddy, but not for the price range. That's the thing you really have to do is compare them to other speakers you could buy for so little money. And even some that cost a little more - the Infinity set I listened to at the big-box store was twice the price and didn't sound any better. It also helps if you have a good receiver that lets you control the dynamic range being sent to your speakers. I have a high-end Yamaha that allows me to cut the low frequencies out of the main channel and only send them to the sub (12" powered down-fire). Doing this, you get rid of most of the "muddy" issues.Summary: Can't beat them if this is how much money you want to spend. Period. I liked them so much for my application that I ordered a set of rc55i (the smaller ones) and installed them for the back surround channel. When I finish the basement I'm thinking of getting some of these (rc65i) to use for the back-channel.

5Excellent Speakers!!
By Weatherwiser
I purchased a pair of these in-walls for a pool table/game room area I am building in the basement. My receiver is an Onkyo 805 7.1 home theater system and these will serve as stereo/audio part for only that room. I have never owned Polks or in wall speakers for that matter and listened to them at the big box store before purchasing these through Amazon. I was really impressed at the audio quality. I also didn't want floor standing speakers, but didn't want to sacrifice audio quality either so these speakers filled the bill.No back boxes are necessary, the speaker is designed as an "infinitebaffle" type and only requires that the front and rear moving sound waveare isolated from each other. Polk recommends to maximize the sound quality, you place a modest amount of a sound absorbing material, such as Polyfil (a synthetic cotton-like material found at craft/fabric stores) inside the cavity before installing the speakers. Supposedly, this will absorb the rear moving sound wave and reduce mid range coloration. I think insulation also works just as well. I haven't done this yet and they still sound excellent!

5What a great buy!
By T. Hall
Super easy to put in and fantastic sound. Followed everyone's advice and stuffed the cavity with insulation....taped the wall with Scotch blue painters tape..and scored the paper of the drywall with a razor before cutting with a small drywall saw!

5Great Sound at a Great Price
By A Customer
I purchased the 621 Altec Lansing not for a computer, but for a home theater system. I learned you could do this after purchasing a Altec Lansing 2100 speakers for my HP Pavillion. The 2100 is also a great product...The 621 speakers have 2 inputs (1 main and 1 aux.). One y-adaptor is included and you could purchase an additional 1/8 to 1/8 microphone jack and a Y-adaptor for the L/R audio output at [your local store]...The mid range, highs and lows are very accurate and precise. I expected some noise at higher volumes, but the speakers are so powerful and efficient that you don't hear noise except at ear drum damaging levels...This is a great set up if you don't want 6 speakers for surround sound. I replaced an expensive 2 speaker/1 subwoofer home theater system offering 5.1 sound and saved [money]...I think the power and sound quality of this speaker hooked up to a DVD with virtual surround and VCR would make most people very happy. It sure makes a lot of sense for me.

I wish I knew about this a while back and would not have wasted so much money in the past. Give it a try.

5If you don't have these you are missing out
By Cryptinite Demon
Well, when you see these as a pic on your comp, you're prolly thinking so what's the big deal they don't look so great. Well the satellites are about as big as my old sub. The sub is twice the size of my computer tower and weighs like 20 lbs itself. The box these things come in is mother freaking huge.

Aside from their sheir brilliant looks, the sound couldn't be better. Talk about crisp and clear. This is the loudest computer speaker system I'v every heard. And for it's power you couldn't get a better deal than altec. 400 watts total power You need not even go past the first led notch for volume cause I actually knocked some [stuff] off of my walls with just the second nothc. There are 5 volume level ligts. You can set bass and trebble with the remote control and I'm talkin you get some serious bass out of these things.

The remote has a pretty long cord and you can postition it just about anywhere so that's another pluss. The remote also has a stand. NO it's not plastic even though it may look like it in the pic. It's steel. It's pretty heavy too for how small the little stand is. The remote offers all the features you could wish for cept for a band tuner which you can do on most music software, but like anyone will ever put a band tuner on remote.

Ummm setup is pretty easy. Just plug in the speakers which are colored coded for the not so computer and speaker literate. Ummmm, cords are very long so you don't really have to worry about where to put them to get them close enough to the sub. The only short cord really is the line that connects to the computer, but it's 5 ft about, so it will work for most people.

Don't set the sub on a wall shelf cause it will tear your wall apart. THis little mofo weighs like 20 lbs and will rip it right out of your wall even if you got it planted in a stud.

Overall great system and loads of features. For this price you can't get a better deal. buy it buy it buy it!!!!!

5IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THESE SPEAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Chris V.
I spoke to an Altec Lansing tech today and he told me a very important thing about them.

The speakers had a flaw in powering down the system that made the subs die in about an 8 month periond.

If you used ONLY the remote to turn off the system and left the power switch located on the back of the subs on, the subs will still be powered thus shortening their life.

In order to keep the subwoofer life you have to:

1.) Turn off the power using the remote first.

2.) THEN then turn off the power switch on the back the subs.

If you do that simple thing, these awesome speakers will last you forever. I hope this helps out everyone!

-Chris

5Very Good Product
By Jan
This is the second HoMedic ParaSpa. My last one, just like this one, lasted 10 years, and was probably plugged in for at leat 7 of those years. You do not need to turn this one off except to clean it. There are no heating elements inside. The inside is solid, so it won't leak. The wax is scentless. Yes, I read all the other reviews for the other Hand Paraffin Spas and finally found this one again. In other words it is a great product. My arthritic hands sure do appreciate it. P.S. I went to HoMedics website and they do not have this one listed anymore. But they do still have a Hand Paraffin Spa.

5Best episode II toy I have!
By A Customer
Jango Fett's Slave I is much, much better than the original Slave I. A lot of people have said that they can't find a decent place to hold it and fly it around, but I've found that if you hold onto the two black beams on the bottom (or back) with one hand, it works pretty well. One of my favorite parts about this set is the Jango Fett mini-figure. It's really cool how his head turns around to reveal his face when you take the helmet off. Buy this set!!!

5This is one nice ship!
By A Customer
It has a pivoting cockpit that swivels in conjunction with the wings. It's got two huge twin blasters, two four-barrel cannons that come out each side of the ship (although they tend to come off easily). It stores three bombs that can be dropped when you tilt up the back end. It has a smuggling compartment that connects to the underside of the ship via a magnet. The front (or top) compartment of the ship opens up revealing two rockets and a little blue power core(?). It comes with Jango and a young Boba Fett, and two cool little pistols. All in all, it's a very nice looking ship with some cool features. However there are a couple minor drawbacks. One, there's no where to hold it where you can menuever it around easily. With several hinges, flaps, and a couple sensative connections, there's no where to really grab it and move it around freely. Two, the underside between the wings isn't as strongly constructed as I would have liked. These drawbacks are very minor though. The ship is very big (twice the size of Boba Fett's Slave 1) and is a must have for any Star Wars lego collector. The [$$$] price tag is a bit much, it should retail for around [$$$}. But it's definately a beauty that makes some of the older Star Wars ships look dull in compairson. Grade A.

5Definetly better than the first!
By A Customer
Our good friends at lego did a much better job this time on creating Jango Fett's Slave I than they did with Boba's. A lot bigger and better looking, but not quite as durable. One of the coolest features would have to be the rotating wings and cockpit which ensures that the pilot is always as comfortable as posible by sitting upright even when the ship is on its back. The two twin-barreled rotating laser cannons are not affected by gravity, and all of you know that when you left the original down for a while the canons would start to aim down. The opening compartments on the side reveal two heat seeking rockets and the ships translucent power generator. An additional two compartments give space for Jango's two laser blasters and his wig, if you can't find anywhere else to put it. And the magnetically held and detachable cargo-bay escape pod prison cell (whatever you want it to be) adds to the list. Not to mention the three siesmic charges. Boba and Jango could have been made a little better, and the ship is kindof heavy and hard to lift. Other than that, it's one crazy son of a lot of guns!!

5Realy Sweet Starwars Lego!
By John
This toy is fun to build and good for Display. One of the best things about it is that it can bend over and shoot a missile out of its jetpack if you press a button on its back. It comes with two guns that can go in holsters on both his legs. I enjoy it very much and so do my friends! This is a great toy every lego freak should get!

5Challenging to build; a sight to behold!
By Jason Hurd
The guys who design the Star Wars Lego Technic line are either geniuses... or insane... or both. I never ceased to be amazed at how these models are created.

This particular model is much improved in style and appearance over the earlier Technic Stormtrooper. While the rigid, straight-legged stance worked well for C-3PO, it made the Stormtrooper look a bit silly. The engineers have compensated for this problem by giving Jango a relaxed-looking stance - rather ingenious in its design really - giving him a more "filled-out" and natural look.

If you enjoy attention to detail and have a few hours to kill, buy this set and put it together... But be careful - pay CLOSE attention to the instructions. Lego Technic is built in layers... a mistake on page 3 can become a really big headache on page 16.

The set looks great as well. While maintaining the Technic design aesthetic, this character is unmistakably Jango Fett.

4Jango Fett
By A Customer
I bought this Lego set for my 11 year old cousin's birthday. He was excited to have such an awesome toy! He was obsessed with Star Wars and his whole bedroom was completely filled with Star Wars stuff. At first, the instructions were a bit complicated for him, so I lent him a hand. He soon got the hang of building with the Technic pieces and after he completed the model of Jango Fett, he displayed it his room proudly. I like how the gun-thingy on the back of the model shoots and how he can put guns into his side pockets. Great toy, pretty easy instructions, and fun for kids! Recommended? Yes.

5Great to Have a Laser Again
By Noah D. Karchmer
I was looking for a giveaway deal to replace my inkjet which stopped feeding paper. It's possible to find steals on inkjets, in fact it can be cheaper to replace the whole printer itself than the ink cartridge (which is where the money is made). However when I saw a great deal on the Lexmark e210 and read countless positive online reviews about it, I couldn't pass it up.

Setup was simple- it was working in less than five minutes. This is in sharp contrast to my last laser printer (a Brother), which was nearly impossible to replace the ink cartridge and ended up with ink powder everywhere. This printer is solid and attractive and compact. The print is top quality and super fast. I was thrilled to have a laser again after suffering through the slow ink jet with far inferior print quality. No, I can't print color or pictures on the laser, but I have found it to be cheaper to send my picture files out for processing than the cost of the ink/paper to do it at home (they look way better that way too), so a laser is perfect for me.

I have been warned that the replacement ink for this model is more than double that of most laser printers, so that could be a downside for someone who prints frequently. The initial cartridge is rated at 1000 sheets and the replacements are rated at 2000 sheets. I'm not concerned since I bought it for home use, but this could be a factor for others.

5Cheapest Laser I've ever seen
By A Customer
This is a decent laser printer that handles text well and has only jammed once despite going through several thousand pages and numerous sheets of labels.

Pros-Price -- I got mine for $75 from office depot after a coupon and rebate-text quality

Cons-Graphics quality: not the greatest, don't buy it if you have to print anything with graphics-Ink cost: pretty high cost per page

If you can get this for under 100, go for it, otherwise, get another printer with less expensive ink

Also, if you do indeed buy this printer, install the driver for the Samsung 1200 series printers instead of the e210 -- since the printers are really the same but with different emblems on the outside, you can use the better Samsung driver which has an ink saver mode which definitely works driving down the cost per page by ~20-30% while keeping the text dark enough to read

5Great network printer
By A Customer
Purchased the E210 as a replacement for my old HP LJ 5L, which is still a good desktop printer, but not much use as a network printer.

I installed the E210 on the print server port of my Barricade router, and had it up and printing in about 10 minutes. Output is crisp and clear. The engine requires a few seconds to warm up, but once it starts printing, it's noticeably faster than the 5L.

I would dock the printer a half-star for having such an expensive replacement toner cartridge, but that's really the only negative I can offer... The printer has an auto-feed slot with a capacity of 150 sheets of standard DP paper, although the output slot only has a capacity of 100 sheets. It also has a manual feed slot. Both imput slots are limited to a 9-inch maximum width, which is sufficient for my needs.

Lexmark claims that the duty rating for this printer is 5000 sheets per month, and lists it on their website as a Business-class printer, rather than a SOHO-class, which I question, but for me the bottom line is that the output is good, the price is great, and the unit has an acceptable footprint and is very quiet. If you're looking for a good light-to-medium-duty laser, at a budget-minded price, you're going to have to look pretty hard to beat the Lexmark E210.
