5Off-the-scale Quality and Value: A Zero Compromise Product
By E. Greenberg
Forget about everything you're reading online comparing one LCD montior to another. You need to go visit a computer store and see them. After you do that, your focus will change entirely, literally and figuratively. I was prepared to spend up to $2000 on an LCD monitor and, therefore, price wasn't the issue. After doing my research, I believed I knew what I was after. Thank goodness I was able to see in-person the Envision 17 inch LCD. It was FAR SUPERIOR in performance to every other LCD monitor I saw. I bought it and I couldn't be happier. And this was with the analogue interface and my existing video card, you don't need a DVI interface to get perfection. I'm a high-end user and I've always owned high-end monitors. In fact, I could rarely find one that satisfied my needs except for scarcely available super high-end models. This Envision product changed that however. At any price, its performance is visually the best in my opinion. But when considering its price, it's like an entirely different product all together compared to the other LCD panels available today. I simply couldn't be happier with this product. The warranty, also, is excellent. And as I mentioned earlier, if you've been concerned about whether you need a new DVI card and an LCD monitor with a DVI interface, you can forget about it unless perhaps you do video editing full-time. This Envision LCD monitor, in conjunction with a solid traditional/standard video card (like you probably already have), offers absolutely outstanding crystal-clear rock-solid performaance.

5Amazing Value and Quality
By Noor
I recently recieved an Envision 7100-si from Amazon.com, and I could not be more pleased with this purchase. I used a 17" CRT prior to this and the difference is night and day. First, it arrived in perfect condition. There are no dead or stuck pixels - a common occurence with many lcds. The monitor itself is simple, and elegant - the silver frame can go well in either a business or home environment. Setting it up was a snap - literally. All you have to do is attach the monitor to the base! The plug and play worked perfectly - the monitor was recognized by Windows and installed easily. The auto adjust feature set the display parameters on the monitor perfectly. Now for the important things - the picture is amazingly clear and crisp - it has never been so easy on my eyes to use microsoft office applications. The only monitor I have found comparable is the Sonys which are catastrophically expensive (that was the other one I was looking at), and so I can't recommend buying those because they are just on par and more expensive with a lesser warranty (See below). The native resolution of 1280*1024 takes a little getting used to, as it makes icons smaller than the typical 1024*768 that many people use. The sharpness of the picture more than makes up for this, though, as well as several options in Windows that allow the user to change the fonts/appearance for maximuum comfort. The blurring effect that plagues many lcds does not come into play whatsoever with this monitor. I tested it with several dvds, which looked amazing and there was no ghosting. I also fired up several graphically complex and fast paced games (like serious sam, half life, unreal etc...) and did not have any ghosting issues with those or with slower games like Warcraft and Diablo II. The last thing I would like to mention is Amazon's amazing policy of letting you return anything within 30 days. Thus if a monitor does arrive with dead pixels, they will take it back. I strongly recommend this, because no one wants to open up a monitor and have a stuck pixel for life - beware lower prices at places like Best Buy, Staples et al... because they often will not accept the monitor back either at all or without a 15% restocking fee (unacceptable in my book - the monitor should be flawless on day one or your money back). Further, Envision has a generous 3 year warranty on parts and labor, and extremel friendly tech support (which I tested before I purchased this monitor - I never waited more than 8 minutes). All in all, this monitor has no drawbacks (even more so when purchased through Amazon and their no questions asked return policy). I highly recommend buying this monitor, or at least trying it out - I don't think you will ever want to go back to CRTs (especially for the price).

5After three days...
By A Customer
After being stunned by its low price, I picked this monitor up last weekend and so far have been very happy with it. Unlike the previous review, I found the in-store display to be quite poor as the shop I visited was displaying 1024x768 images on the 1280x1024 capable monitor. Be sure, if you go to look at it, that you can dink with the settings and make sure its running at the proper resolution. With a small amount of tinkering with the "clock" and "focus" settings it will give a seemingly *perfect* image. Decent contrast, good brightness, no text shadows, no flickering or shimmering. Unfortunately there is one dead pixel on the one I got, but I guess that's not too bad considering. Button layout is pretty sleek, and the monitor is at a good height. I'm happy I didn't buy a 19' crt and am loving my newly freed deskspace. And it looks great under X!

5Wife's Opinion Has Changed 180 Degrees
By Jake
I always wanted a steamer and love stainless steel. I also have a gas range so a stove top top model like this Cuisinart model seemed a no-brainer. FYI you will need a pan for it and the water to set in. My wife was a big fan of boiling vegetables to a flavorless mush and didn't see the need. She now claims it's the best purchase I ever made. If you know my girl, and I know I do, then you know this is extremely high praise. Also I should add being stainless steel I expect it to be very durable. My friend loves his electric steamer, but had to replace it already.

5Cuisinart Multiclad Stainless 5-1/2- Qt. Saute Pan
By A Customer
I have been looking at the All-Clad brand of cookware for sometime, but the price put it out of my range. I came across theCuisinart Multiclad line, and decided to try one. It's hard totell anything about a product from a picture, but I thoughtI'd try. When it came in I was very pleased. It is everybit as good as the All-Clad line. The workmanship on thispan is flawless. The finish is beautiful. The weight is perfect. Not light, but not overly heavy. I plan to buy a piece everyso often until I have a great set of cookware. If you arelooking for a professional piece of cookware that is asbeautiful as it good you need to look very close at this line.

5Functional and Quality
By A Customer
This is a great pan and one I find using a lot. When it arrived, I immediately put it to use in sauting lots of vegetables used in a stuffing mix for a Thanksgiving dinner. This pan has also been used to fry up bacon, chicken, poach eggs, chicken breasts, and salmon fillets. I have braised pot roast and pork chops without it becoming dry or worse, the pan drying out and burning. This pan has some heft to it and stays put on the burner without it bouncing or sliding around. It can take high and low heat without any hot spots to cause any problems. The long handle, helper handle are both sturdy and the lid fits tight. Clean up is a breeze. If food has stuck or burned on, a short soak of hot soapy water with a nylon scraper cleans it up beautifully. Although it is dishwasher safe, I have never put it into the dishwasher prefering to wash it by hand. On ocassion I use a little rub of Bar Keepers Friend to keep it looking in brand new condition. I am more than well pleased on the size, quality and workmanship of this pan. I find this pan comparable to the All Clad line when I was looking for new cookware to replace my old set, but at a much better and at a much more affordable price. It is a great pan and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for high quality professional type equipment.

5A GREAT PAN FOR SAUTEING FOR THE FAMILY
By A Customer
I got this pan 6 weeks ago and I love it. It browns very nicely and can cook more food in less time due to it's good size. It cleans up easily , as well. I only wish I waited to a few weeks to buy it [since it's now less expensive]... What a buy!

This is a very awesome cd player, it has almost everythingyou need for a perfect cd player. But to me it is perfect, what can I say the 45 sec. Electronic-Shock Protection isvery good, the 2-stage bass boost is unbelievable and mindblowing cause it creates a very different perspectiveto the sound of music itself. The Volume is awesome. The top mounted controls are easily accessable anddoesn't stick which makes it very convenient. What I really like about this cd player is that it has areadable LCD display filled with all the componentssuch as a battery life indicator, bass boost stageindicator, and ESP timer. It is also very slim, compact, and easy to carry around whether in the car, running, leisure, or traveling, this cd player plusthe really comfortable Stereo x headphones withunbelivable sound response combined together will giveyou a very powerful, convenient, and dependable cd playerand also a very awesome audio experience. I like the colorsof this cd player. I get compliments for the complectionand design of this cd player. Not only that, but allthe features put together makes me very proud to ownthis RCA cd player. It's virtualy skip free andhas an extended battery life, 36 hour playback and24-Track Memory, Shuffle, Repeat and random playand an auto shut off and very interesting featurewhere you turn off the cd player and when you turnit on using the saver feature it will play at thesame place it was when you last listened to it, cool.It is worth the money. 5Amazing
By A Customer
This CD player is absolutely amazing. Every aspect is outstanding! I tested the ESPX and nothing made it skip, the headphones are comfortable, good sound, and a good price. The most amazing part was the 2 level bass boost. I'm a fan of bass and with the 2 level bass boost on, it blew me away. Good job RCA!

41st Time A Charm
By T. Foster
Never owning a personal cd player before, I didn't what my 1st purchase to be a waste. I knew I needed a player that could handle being tossed in a pocket or knapsack for commuting on the subway. Good sound and CD/R/RW capabilities. I achieved my goals with the RCA RP2420. Its slim enough to fit in my jacket pocket, light weight, and requires a MAJOR bump for it to skip. So if you're looking for a well-made, easy to use, good sounding portable cd player, you can't go wrong with this choice.

5Envision EN-710 17" CRT Monitor - A Wise Buy
By Savy Florida Buyer
Replacing my old 13" monitor with the EN-710 17" CRT Monitor by ENVISION was the best purchase made by me in 2001 . The anti-glare screen means no more tilting the monitor to an akward viewing position to avoid glare from a window or overhead lighting. The text and graphics are so much clearer and easier on the eyes that using my desktop more often than my notebook computer is once again a pleasure. And it's not as deep as the 17" MAC monitor attached to my notebook so takes up less room on my desk. So far I've no complaints after 3 weeks of usage.

5Good everyday 17" monitor
By R. Geissman
This is a good everyday 17" monitor. Plug & Play, .27 mm dot pitch, 16" diagonal viewable image, digital controls, 1280 x 1024 max resolution, 3 year parts & labor warranty. You can register the product on line as well as download any needed drivers for your operating system from Envision's website. Comes with tilt & swivel base that you need to snap on and required cables. I'm running the monitor in 1024x768 mode on a Win 95 system and I'm impressed by it. The colors are very vivid and bright. Sitting next to my Compaq FS-740 monitor it looks no different except that it's not a flat screen. Monitor is 16" high x 16" deep x 16 wide. A very tidy foot print indeed. I purchased mine with a hefty rebate while it was on sale at a local office supply store and got it for less than half of retail. I'm very pleased with it.

5Essential for laptop users
By J. G. Heiser
After carrying my Cybertool for 15 months, I can confidently report that it is even more useful than I anticipated.

I received my first Swiss Army knife as a youngster, back when they still had a sturdy wire for a belt clip or lanyard, instead of today's wimpy key ring. As an adult, I migrated away from my beloved army knife, carrying small pen knives instead. But it was still a disappointment to lose that first knife at the tail end of a wilderness backpacking trip where I had used it to help lash together an emergency stretcher out of pack frames. Its replacement was a 3-function Victorinox perfect for travelling-I considered it a beer, wine and cheese knife.

But I was irresistibly drawn to the Cybertool when I first saw it in the Summer of 2000, realizing that it was not only way cool, but perfect for keeping my laptop from falling apart. Today's laptops have little tiny Phillips screws-many of them recessed-and if you carry your portable with you every day, you're guaranteed to always have a screw loose or two. My name brand laptop had lost several screws, and the serial port was dangling. That's where the Cybertool's best feature comes into play. It has a long arm with both 4mm and 5mm nut drivers that fit the nuts retaining DB-15 and DB-25 connectors. Fitting into the dual-position arm are a set of small but well-made tool bits with slotted and Phillips screw drivers, Torx, and a 4mm Allen key that is perfect for Ikea furniture. With a Cybertool, you can keep all your screws tight, reducing laptop failure (I set up a recurring event on my PDA to remind me to touch up all the screws & nuts on my unreliable laptop every 6 weeks).

The philosophy of this tool is to build on the foundation of a knife. This is in contrast to the multi-tool strategy of fitting a set of pliers with knives and hacksaws. While such tools are highly useful to many people, I think they are too heavy for a briefcase, and I am not going to slice cheese with the same tool that I use on my lawnmower or for fish scaling. A bottle opener is of course included, and a can opener that is only suitable for the direst of emergencies. Contrary to popular belief, you can pull a cork from a wine bottle using a Swiss Army knife, although the advice I was given to `push the cork INTO the bottle' resulted in a spectacular red shower in the Panoramawagen out of Lugano. Just screw into the cork as far as you can, and then gently inch the cork out of the bottle with a rocking motion (I have had no success with plastic `corks', though).

Perhaps the manufacturer exaggerates the number of functions provided by this tool, but I actually have used the ballpoint pen to flip a DIP switch. The mini-screwdriver stuck into the corkscrew is perfect for eyeglasses, and if you are careful, the scissors are adaptable to a wide range of personal hygiene tasks. My original knife didn't have steel pin, tweezers, or tooth pick-at least one of which has saved me from several evenings of post-gristle distress syndrome. The only totally useless implement is the all-purpose hook. Intended to facilitate in the carrying of brown paper boxes wrapped up with string, I have never observed a Swiss actually using one. Victorinox seems to have overbought this particular appendix, hanging them on snow board and bicycle knives also.

It isn't just a toy to impress your gadget-oriented co-workers-although it is good for that too. The thing really works, and after over a year in my briefcase, mine has developed quite a patina. It is well constructed and intelligently thought out, and if I ever lose mine, I'll replace it immediately. Good stuff!

You know, I hardly miss that first Swiss Army knife at all.

5Geekgirl's delight
By DaxRunner
As owner of an all-female IT support company, I purchased this tool for all my techs for Christmas last year. We're all absolutely enchanted with it. Leatherman's tools are ok, but if you work on Compaqs you have to have the Torx bits. We've already got cell phones, pagers and pdas hanging off our belts, and there's just no room on a gal's belt to add a Leatherman and the toolbit accessory. The cybertool fits in a pocket or purse and gets the job done while maintaining our sleek appearance. One caveat, however - if you leave this thing at a client site it will NOT be there when you return for it!! So now I'm up here looking at the Cybertool 34 - we'll see how it stacks up against the original.UPDATE: Almost 10 years later, this is still my all-time favorite tool.

5Best multipurpose knive ever
By D. Petzinger
BUY THIS KNIFE NOW!

Granted, i fix computers for a living, but i use this knive for absolutely everything... breaking down cardboard boxes, writing down phone numbers, fixing eyeglasses, tooth picking, blister popping (yuck! at least i put the needle over a flame!). I swear i use this thing at least 10 times a day.

I think I have the deluxe model though (scissors, pliers and a box carrier added). I consider myself quite lost without this knife in my pocket. I've had a lot of similar products and none of them could compete for lack of one thing... a functional screwdriver. It has 10 different heads (as long as you don't lose them).

buy it. now.

5Best Portable Shortwave Receiver
By Magic
I found this Sony portable shortwave radio when my old Radio Shack radio quit after 20+ years and everything Radio Shack has now is made in China. I do not buy things made in China. The Sony is an excellent product made in Japan. The shortwave reception is very good and I can tune in more stations than before. It even comes with an external antenna but I have not used that. It takes time for me to get accustomed to the input buttons which have multiple functions depending on the current operational mode. The real drawback is that there is no AC adapter and due to a different connector size, I cannot use the adapter from the previous radio.

5Good Quality
By Rich1962
I bought this Sony World Band receiver through Amazon about 1 month ago. It included a station guide and external antenna , which is very handy for international broadcasts. There are options for alarms and timezones which would be good for somebody who does a lot of travel. The sound quality is very good , but even better with headphones , as this radio is actually stereo , but with only one speaker without the headphones. SSB communication is very clear as are CW signals . I am very happy with this purchase. The only negative is that the ac power adapter is not included , but this is something east to purchase locally .
