TrippLite Touch Master Plus

The unit functions fine but is not the quality I would expect from TrippLite. The case and switches are cheaply made. The outlets are too close together to plug in anything other than a standard cord. (Transformers from various computer devices either have to be plugged into extention cords or block more than one outlet. Since many computer peripherals use transformers this seems like an obvious improvement that could be made to the unit.)

great product tripp-lite quality

Product is great. I use it to switch on/off monitors on my 3 monitor computer setup. Nice stats lights. Good price. Advertised as 6 outlet unit, but need to know this setup:-- Power switches0: Main1,2,3,4: each to individual switched outlets on back.-- Outlets0: connected to main only1,2,3,4: powers on w/ main + corresponding switch5: unswitched (always on)

Under Monitor Power Center

These were all the rage 10-15 years ago. Everybody had one under their monitor. I have one for my computer, one for my wife's computer and one for my stereo and TV equipment (Why have all the stereo stuff on when I am only watching the TV?). They sold them at all the computer stores (for cheap). You can turn your printer or scanner off and on without having to find some obscure power button. And by not having them on all the time it lowers the electric bill and reduces the chance of a fire (My neighbor's house burnt down last week because the TV caught fire in the middle of the night).When my Wifes 15 year old unit broke I could only find one made by TrippLite. TrippLite is a first rate company (even if they are made in China, but isn't everything?) and we use their UPS's at work allot.It's a good unit with a 10 foot cord which worked out well for me because it was long enough to make it from my Wife's Computer back to my TrippLite UPS, thus sparing out an extension cord.I am over 50 (pushing 60) and I HATE black face plates on ANY equipment. I can't read them without a flashlight and my glasses. But black is "In" so there is nothing I can do about it.I would give it a 10 if it was beige and I could read the buttons.
