5Excellent drill
By Fred West
I just purchased this drill for some major three and four inch hole saw work that I had to due. The drill is a beast and you definitely need to use the extra handle to hold on when you are using the hole saws. I tried first without and almost snapped my wrist. Great drill.

5Light weight Powerhouse
By tool collector
Very very good ergonomics, great feel, light weight, excellent balance, very powerful. I have used this drill to mix concrtete resurfacer, drive lag bolts, drive timberlock screws, drive deck screws and to drill into metal. It worked extremely well in all applications. Piurchased on clearance in 2005 at Sears.

5Drill used for mixing concretes in a bucket.
By Itso-good!
I have used this same type of makita drill for my tile business for years. I hook up a whip that looks a little like a potato masher to it to mix my setting materials and concrete mixes. These drills have a boat-load of power and will spin your arm off if you let it get away from you when doing this. I have tried other drills that have a bigger motor and never was as satisfied as I am with this drill. I liked the old way that the handle attached to the side of the drill in the past better. It had a threaded hole in the side of the drill where you just screwed the handle into the drill itself. The newer version has a piece that wraps around the drill by the chuck and tightens up as you twist the handle. Kind of a choke type mechanism. I guess for someone who wants the handle to float to different positions it would probably be a better set-up but I keep it like in the picture... at the 90 degree position. Makes controlling the drill very easy while mixing the muds I use to set tile and for mixing concretes in a bucket. The reversing and variable speeds are very well made on this drill too. The reverse button is located down by where the cord comes out the bottom of the handle and is in an area that is easy to get to but not in an area that would cause you to hit the reverse switch by accident. The trigger is well made to be able to ease into the lower speeds without causing the drill to jump into faster speeds too quickly and send my concrete mixes flying out of the bucket. Really the best drill for doing what I do for a living. Works pretty good for driving larger screws into thick or hard wood too... you can really get some push power with this one because of the handle on the side. Also won't let you down on the power it has for driving those bigger screws or bolts. This thing will twist your arm off if you aren't careful!!! LOL!
