5Does a Fine Job
By Josh Keller
My only wish would be to have it be a little longer. The ceramic material is harder than traditional stones, which gives it a different feel, but is just as effective, and won't warp the way whetstones do after multiple uses. Great tool for keeping razor sharp knives.

5I just love it
By H. RHEE
I guess I'm a traditionalist since I don't use machines to sharpen my knives--this isn't just great for Global knives--it works well on all types of knives. My boyfriend makes sure to keep the surface even so we won't have to buy another one from creating dips (common mistake for many novice stone users). It's worth the price I paid.

5beats a piece of 600 grit sandpaper on a piece of wood!
By J. Hall
gift for my husband, he bought us the highly recommended ginsiu (not sure of the spelling but NOT the sold on TV brand. available on Amazon for under $100 IIRC). No more dishwashing the knives and he has a leather strope and all to keep the sharp on the knives. This whetstone came up on the cyber deals before Christmas, and at 1000 grit, was finer than what he had been using for final burr removal, even though Global considers this a medium grit. I would have bought him the fine grit too, but it was $120+. I'm not sure it's necessary. The whetstone adheres to our Silestone counters, is far more attractive than the sandpaper, and does a fantastic job. I am not going to include a pic of the shaved patch on hubby's arm where he tested a blade. Great price on the cyber deal but if one is keen on sharp knives, still a good investment.
