The Manas are easily the most expensive Rahi. ..., it's unlikely that kids will be able to afford these. But parents can!
The Manas are both crab-like creatures of Mata Nui. Building them isn't that hard (took me about 45 mins. per Manas) but little kids may need help from their parents. By building the different "legs," you can then attach them to either side of the control box and continue building. When done it is quite pleasant. The remote controls are easy to use, but the book doesn't say how to use them. (Yellow and orange buttons. Push both forward and your crab moves forward. Push both backwards and your crab moves backwards. Yellow forward and orange backward will spin it right. Orange forward and yellow backward will spin it left.) It's a lot clearer when you have them.
The only thing that's bad about it is that it takes 12 AA batteries. BUY RECHARGEABLE ONES!

Although pricey, this is one mechanical toy kids can build that will actually move on it's own power once built. Like Lego Mindstorms (another excellent high end toy) it has a remote which is very cool and something my son gets a huge kick from = hours of play. They come in sets of 2 which is great for playing with friends!
Bionicles is VERY hot with my son and his friends (6-10 yrs) and hard to get in stores. Even his older sister is into Gali, the girl character. The story has really captured their imaginations. (It has all the elements of good vs. evil, mythical powers, and rites of passage.) And, coupled with the constructive play, makes for a great toy. If your child likes to build, is into the imaginative story play, and is plugged into the world of video/gaming, this is the toy for them. Bionicles, I think, will be one of those hard to get toys come the holidays.

You've gotta get the BIONICLES MANAS! Because the manas are the ultimate in cool! They are really awesome. They're remote controlled and there are two of them in the box. It was easy to follow the instructions to put them together; the instructions made sense. They must be the neatest toy I've ever had! I like to make them chase after my cat Cybille in the hall of my house. The BIONICLES MANAS are way way cool!
