5...Yeah, but he's still BLUESTREAK!
By A Customer
In case you don't remember, this is a reissue of the classic G-1 Bluestreak. I was told that they lost the rights to the name, and that's why they renamed him Sliverstreak... Well, since there was little blue on the original anyway, it doesn't matter. For the most part, it's a dead-pan perfect reissue. The joints are tight, the stickers look great, and it's quite the ride back to the 2nd grade! My only beefs are the weapons. The japanese reissues were originally silver, and could fire, but alas...

All in all, great reissue for the American fans. Looking forward to more to come!

5This Streak Has Gone Silver Platnium
By gawl027
Despite Hasbro losing the rights to his name. He will always be known as BlueStreak. His disguise in his alternate mode is a Datsun {Nissan 280z} Fairlady Z. A rad Japanese car!The missile launchers don't shoot like in the original bluestreak, prowl, smokescreen versions. When transforming him be careful you don't put pressure on the doors or roof. You don't want to wind up with a convertible. It doesn't look too original with this toy. Since it ain't suppose to be one! The only downside is supposed to feature the anime black two tone hood version on the box. Instead they give us the 1984 all grey version. Hasbro would please release the original blue diaclone bluestreak or the anime bluestreak as part of the commerative series too? That would make many Trans fans happy! Despite the mistake on the box, this all grey bluestreak is a must own too!

3Autobots, transform and roll out!

I am so glad that TRU decided to re-release these classic transformers from back in my grade school days. These toys are still the best Transformers ever! This Silverstreak re-issue is almost exactly like the original. There are some differences, though. Silversteak's gun is now black, not silver like the original, and the missles do not fire at all (the firing button on the launchers are removed altogether). And let's not forget the name change (originally he was Bluestreak).I am also a little disappointed by the quality of the re-issue. I compared this Silverstreak to an original Smokescreen I had since '85. For those that don't know, Silverstreak and Smokescreen are exactly the same, just different color scheme. The materials of the re-issue, though still die-cast, feels cheaper, and the workmanship feels coarse and shoddy. These new toys just don't seem to transform as smoothly. Some joints are too tight, while other joints are too loose. The re-issues are made in China, and it just does not live up to the high standards set by the Japanese originals. If you are a bored 31yrd like me who wants to recapture a bit of child hood memories, this is the toy for you. You are getting a decent re-issue at a reasonable price. But if you are shopping for a kid who has never seen these, you're probably better off buying one of the more current Transformer lines. The classics are more expensive, smaller in size, and more fragile. Only buy for people who will appreciate them.
