5Great Vacuum for moderate industrial use
By Adrian C. Beckmann
The janitor of our Masonic lodge loves this bagless vacuume. Though it doesn't store much in the canister, it also doesn't need to be constantly renewed with bags.

Product Description

Great for high-speed, large-area cleaning, this Eureka upright vacuum is simple, maneuverable, and strong. Though not appropriate for bare floors, the vacuum features six different carpet-nap settings, tuned with an easy-access dial that ranges from low pile to thick plush. The no-nonsense construction of the vacuum makes it easy to push and turn, while the wide bumper protects furniture and baseboards. The back-mounted cloth bag zips open completely for easy removal of the inner paper bag. The stout metal brush roll on this machine stands up to abuse and thoroughly sweeps and combs carpet for deeper cleaning. The handle--released with a foot pedal--can go flush with the floor for vacuuming under furniture. Though this model doesn't come with hoses, attachments, or extra gadgets, it's a reliable, powerful way to clean all kinds of carpet. At 20 pounds, it's not exactly a lightweight, but the spare design lets you turn it on a dime. Eureka makes this upright with a bright headlight, two cord hooks, a foot-controlled power switch, and a 50-foot power cord. It also comes with a spare paper dust bag. --Emily Bedard

4Looks like I found It.
By John J. Whimple
We call my wife the Vacuum Lady. All she does is Vacuum .When she gets home from work the first thing she does is grab the vacuum. We've had our 5 amp professional Eureka Vacuum since 1977. Although it's pretty beaten up it is still running fine.I wanted to buy her a new one. We bought a new Eureka lightweight and brought it back the next day. The sound was too high pitched and it felt like a toy vacuum. The brush is made out of plastic. In fact with all my research I found out that most are plastic not metal like the Eureka C2094G .The metal ones last forever. Now we finally found the exact replacement the Eureka Heavy Duty Commercial Series . It has a 50 foot cord and that's the longest you will find.Instead of putting all extras and accessories into the vacuum it is just pure raw power .If you want a vacuum that lasts 25 years this is it.

5I've seen more attractive vacuums
By J. Musk
I used to work in vacuum repair and this vacuum is fantastic. It is tough and it should withstand a fair bit of abuse, and when it comes to cleaning carpet, it will do at least as good a job as many of the far more expensive vacuums. I wanted to get this vacuum for my wife a year ago, but she insisted on a B*ssel for $90, and she has regreted it. Now that I got her this one (I didn't give her an option this time), she wishes she had listened to me last year. She loves it.This vacuum holds much in common with the S*nitaire commercial vacuum series (i.e. 600 & 800 series). In fact, it uses many of the exact same parts as the S*nitaires. The part numbers are also the same. The majority of parts are interchangeable and very inexpensive. The single most expensive replacement part is the motor, and a careful shopper can find it online for around $60. The disturbulator (beater bar) bearings are easily replaceable (and inexpensive) should the need arise, and replacement wheels and switches are VERY cheap ($2.66 for a rear wheel, $4.44 for a front wheel, and about $6 for a switch). Cord retainers do break, and that may be the weakest part of the vacuum, but a replacement set is only $6.61.The vacuum is simple to repair and maintain. The most complicated task is changing the fan should it ever break. This involves a Philips head and possibly a T15 torx (if I remember correctly). Two screws underneath hold the cover on, and then four screws (I think) hold the motor in place. Take the motor out, then remove the pulley (it screws off backwards, I believe), change the fan, and reverse the process. If the foam gasket on the bottom of the motor breaks or is useless, it is easily replaceable as well. If you don't have a replacement gasket handy, then bead some silicon caulking around the base, then remount the motor, but you won't be able to use the vacuum until the caulking cures, which should be left alone overnight.

5It's Not Pretty
By Steve Hawkins
This is not the most beautiful machine in the world but it sure gets the job done. I had owned a very basic version of this type of vacuum before and gave it away. I kick myself everyday for that. These are the only vacuums that I have found that get all of the dog hair out of my berber carpet and that is not an easy task. I hope I will never own any other type of vacuum again so I hope Eureka keeps on making these for many years to come.

Stanley Bostitch 650S4-1 1-to-2-1/2-Inch 16-Gauge Medium Crown Stapler Product Description:

  • 1- to 2-Inch 16-gauge medium crown stapler
  • 340 in./lbs. of driving power; depth adjustment; jam-free magazine
  • Molded rubber comfort grip designed to last longer; magazine holds 160 staples
  • Tool-free 360-Degree exhaust port; narrow nose for better visibility
  • 10.69 by 14.31-Inch; 4-1/2-Pound; 7-year warranty

Product Description

Crown staplers fasten a wide variety of materials and workpieces, from furniture frames to pallets, to crating material, even roof sheathing. That's why Bostitch designed this 16-gauge stapler with plenty of power to penetrate harder woods as well as precision depth control for concealing staples in furniture.A powerful tool, the stapler's 340 inch-pounds of driving oomph easily shoots nails up to 2 inches long into hard furniture frames and thick cedar shingles. The handy depth adjustment means there's no splitting when working with softer, thinner materials like pine pallets and crates. Not enough can be said about the depth adjustment, which is a joy to use, and is versatile enough to fine-tune a wide variety of applications. The stapler drives 16-gauge, 1- to 2-inch-long staples with medium-size (½-inch) crowns (staples that work great for roof decking, fence construction, sheathing, even irregular cedar shingle work). And, weighing just 4-1/2 pounds, the tool won't tear off your wrist during all-day stapling projects--even in awkward positions. The tool's jam-free magazine means no more cleaning bent staples out of the nose--otherwise a real hassle when you're on scaffolding or up high on a steep roof. A narrow nose enhances visibility and accuracy--a boon for working in tight quarters where there's no room to angle your head to the left or right. The stapler's exhaust port rotates 360 degrees with one finger, so you can redirect discharge on the fly and staple your way up one side of a corner, for example, and then down the other without having to hold the tool at a funky angle. For optimal comfort and control, the handle features a molded rubber grip. The purchase is covered by a Bostitch 7-year warranty. What's in the Box

5Hard to find stapler and even harder to find staples
By W. Anger
I bought this fine stapler at H.D. about 1.5 years ago from their rental dept. They had never rented it, I was told. I paid about $210 for a like new stapler. I bought some 2" staples here at AMAZON, a great deal with the free shipping. Overall, I love this stapler for construction projects that do not require a finished surface.Pros:- Will drive a 2" staple. I believe the 7/16" crown staplers only drive a 1.75" staple.- 16 gauge fasteners are thicker than 15 gauge, thus stronger.- The staples have a lot of holding power- The sequential trip makes for quick work- Power (see con) is more than adequate for pine, plywood, etc.- Staples do not split the wood as fast as a thicker nail- Staples do not penetrate past the surface as a nail will- Staples do not pull thru the wood if the wood pieces are seperated as a nail will.Cons:- Hard to find staples- Power (see pro) is less than adequate for hickory. I had to use the 15 ga finish nailer set to max pressure 110psi. I am using my whimpy compressor so I do not get effective or lasting pressure. My big compressor is not hooked up yet.

5Top of the line...
By Thomas M. Bryant
The Bostitch 650S4 is indeed top of the line. I've been using it to install OSB decking on a roof and have been very well satisfied with it. I have not had a jam with it and it will sink the staples to the correct depth as long as the air pressure holds up. Easy to use and to load, much better quality than lesser air staplers.
