5Let me count the qualities I like about this device
By Steven E. Baker
I travel frequently on 3-4 hour flights and this device has saved me from the boredom of paperbacks and magazines while commuting from one coast to the other.

High marks:

* - Exceptionally great display. The 7" screen is wonderful for upclose or from a short distance. The colors are bright and the screen is sharp. I've noticed very little distortion

* - Lightweight and portable. I bought a caselogic case for it and can store the device, battery, charger, remote, cables and several dvds (using slimline cd cases).

* - Battery life. I get at least four solid hours with no problems. When the battery does go out it is sudden and immediate, no gradual loss of power or noticable artifacts. The battery is a healthy lithium ion that allows you to re-charge between connecting flights with no fear of harming the battery life.

* - Excellent controls. Once you learn them, you can operate this unit in the dark with no problems. It allows you to manipulate many things, including screen size and audio options.

* - Great sound. The stereo speakers work terrific and are more than adequate for personal listening. In the air I use noise cancelling earphones and get completely lost in the film (when I am able to stay awake). Another great option is to use an external speaker system (try the same ones you use with your desktop). My wife and I keep it with us on vacations, subwoofer and all.

* - Usability. Not only is this a terrific portable, you can also use it as a source for your television. It is Dolby 5.1 compliant and does a great job, remote control and all.

* - Coolness. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions when you break this player out. I've had stewardresses sit down and watch Rocky with me, and often notice people standing in the isle just to admire the display.

a) The picture is sharper than a laptop, much more reliable and has better sound (even optical out!). It is lighter and takes up half the space. I travel light and never check bags, so this means a lot to me.

Downsides?

None that I can honestly consider a real problem. A few reviews back I notice someone complained about the 7" screen being too big...FYI: the 5" screen uses the same case, it just has more plastic to fill in the difference.

5Great Player
By A Customer
I read alot of reviews about portable DVD players when making my purchase, I also don't usually add reviews for products. However I am so satified with my portable DVD player purchase I had to share. After my research I was able to narrow it down to 2 different units, the Audiovox 1680 and the Panasonic dvd-lv70. I downloaded each user manual, read reviews and both sounded great. I saw my brother-in-law's Audiovox 5 inch DVD player and thought the picture was OK, but not great. So I decided to spend the extra dollars on the panasonic. I am very impressed. It is a great player. It can also do all different types of diplays when connected to a TV (which one review I read said it couldn't...it can). I prefer widescreen/letterbox on my 4:3 TV which it does and it switches diplay types easily. The unit has an awesome 16:9 screen which is visible from a very wide angle but even better, the unit has a true 5 hour battery. It ran all day in the car. We can easily do 3 short videos and then a full movie with power to spare. We had no issues being able to hear it in the car. It played all of our DVD's and only skipped twice on a 1500 mile road trip. If you don't have a case suitable for carrying 5 or 6 DVD's and the player, I would buy one when you purchase the unit...it makes it much more ergonomic...I used my video camera bag, which worked well.

Pros:Great screenTrue 5 hour batteryGood features/functionSmall sizeRCA TV cables included

Cons:No remote controlled volume.Doesn't come with a car power adapter

57 Inches Is Better Than 5 inches
By RS
The screen quality of this Panasonic LV70 7 inch screen is truly amazing. At first, before I actually started watching a movie, it seemed that the screen might be too small probably because I'm use to watching a large screen TV. However, once I began to watch a show the picture quality and sound quality were so good, with or without headphones, that I immediately forgot that the screen size is only 7 inches. It did not seem too small at all once the movie began. Also, the little speakers that are built in the unit are very adequate producing a nice surround sound effect...and with headphones, it's awesome! As I was showing off this little guy at work I had people in my office watching some movie and they could not believe how watchable the screen is as well as the great sound coming from its little speakers. Eventually, I hooked it up to my 43" tv in my bedroom to see how clear the picture would be on a big screen. It truly produces a picture that is every bit as crisp and clear on my large television as the picture produced by my full size DVD player. And it is so easy to hook up and so portable. This is very nice and very easy to use! The clarity of the picture on the LV70 is also much better than the picture on my new laptop computer which has a DVD drive in it. Also, this unit is soooooo much lighter than my laptop! If you can afford to spend the money, get it!

5The Best Organizer One Could Buy...
By A Customer
This is a kick a** organizer. I first bought a Franklin Rolodex for $50, but the screen on that was like a mirror. Everytime I opened it I saw less of data and more of myself on the screen. Please be aware of the problems with green display screens on under $100 gadgets. I had to rule out Palm devices because they are too expensive for storing addresses, memo, scheduler etc., I don't travel a lot and usually carry a laptop to access (online or offline) the web and email. So I thought of giving the OZ-770 a try. The first thing that scared me was, it runs Sharp's proprietary operating system and syncs up with Sharp's own DayTimer software. This means that if I move to a Palm or WindowsCE device in the future I'd have to re-enter all the data all over again. Here's the good news: There's a company called Rupplynx that offers a software for free (called RuppLynx Express) that syncs up the OZ-770 with Microsoft Outlook. I've been successfully using this software to sync up all my data to my PC. Most of the handheld devices in the market sync up very well with Microsoft Outlook. With the help of RuppLynx Express I can now migrate to either Palm or WindowsCE or something else anytime. In other words I am not tied to the sharp brand and technology. OZ-770 offers the following features and more:

- phonebook- scheduler- Birthday/Ann.- Calculator- Converter- Calendar- World Clock- Memo- Todo- Downloadable programs (from www.mywizard.com)

OZ-770 also offers loads of configuration options.

As regards to the PROS and CONS of OZ-770 here's what I figured:

PROS:

- Excellent User Interface- Great screen, excellent (wide) display (no glare)- Excellent backlight- Nice and easy to use keyboard- Packed with features (more than what Palm offers)- Loads of Memory (3MB)- Long battery life due to very little power consumption- Very very reasonably priced

CONS:

- Only available in silver color which is spray paint over plastic- Slightly bigger in size to carry around literally everywhere you go

Conclusion:If you don't need offline or online web/email access then OZ-770 is a must buy for anybody looking for an organizer.

5Move over Palm, Sharp has got the right idea!
By Everett
I have been the owner of two Palm Pilots. They served me well for the many years I owned them. When my Palm went dead after using it for 4 years I decided to look hard at the market. I decided want I really needed and used was Schedule, To Dos and Memos. Beyond that I wanted to select and capture some emails as I found saving all of them and syncing them up was a chore not worth keeping up with. I discoverd the Sharp OZ-770PC. It has everything I need including a much easier to read display and an easy to use keyboard. I also discovered it was easy enough to create a folder in my Outlook for selected emails and using some free ware from MyWizard.com a site provided for users of this organizer I was able to get those selected emails I really needed. I highly recommend this organizer as long as wireless is not your direction and your not buying it to play golf games and such. You can't beat this value, nothing short of remarkable!

...This is an incredible accessory! I know what your thinking, all those new palms, and those Pocket PC's...hey this is great. It has a Calendar, you can go back into the past and future, plan ahead, and it made me do better in school!!! It has a schedule from all time-ranges, plus, you can edit the time range (ex: 12-1...nope 12:14-3:45 get it?)It also has a Birthday/Ann. which appear yearly on the calendar! Now I particularly like the To Do feature! It has categories, which you can always change, Due Date, description, andPriority. YOu also check off if it is done or not. THe memo isn't one of those 20 word ones, but you can type SOOOO much on it, that they have E books that will fit! Expense is great...has categories, dates, amount, the payment type, and the status!!! The calculator has 12 full digits, can add, subtract, multiply, divide, convert, %...etc! 5Enjoy cooking!
By S. Katz
I used to blame my lack of cooking in part on the fact that I had a terrible apartment kitchen with no counter space.

Well, that much is partially true, but after I received this set for my birthday one year, I realized it was also the pots I was using. And that with the right equipment, cooking is truly a joy.

I had an old set of hand-me-down Revereware. Competent enough, but their age was showing... and when it took me two hours to boil potatoes in the big pot (and they still didn't get completely done!) I was ready to throw them all out the window. Enter All Clad.

All Clad is not nonstick, and you do have to take care of it (although I do put mine in the dishwasher) but the shine is enough that you won't have much trouble if you clean up (or at least soak) immediately. Don't let it sit -- I'm still scrubbing the remains of some soy sausages from my skillet! (Although perhaps I shouldn't have cooked those in the first place.)

They have a solid aluminum core, which definitely makes them heat evenly. They also heat fast! As as example, when I first got my set, I whipped out the saute pan (by far my favorite piece of cookware) and added a little olive oil. I turned the stove on medium. I walked out of the room for about three minutes. When I came back in, I was going to add my chicken. The chicken sizzled... enough that I turned the heat down to medium low, even low. You don't need to cook above medium heat in these pans, because they retain heat so incredibly well. I literally had to relearn how to cook, because of how I'd gotten used to cooking in my old pans! As another example, when using one of my mom's All Clad pots while poaching fruit for a Christmas dessert, it retained heat so well that I kept accidentally turning her gas stove off, trying to get the heat low enough to keep it at a very bare simmer. I ended up settling for a rather bubbly simmer instead.

I can't say enough good things about these pots. They're wonderful. In fact, I only have two complaints. One, the lids, which are also stainless steel, get very hot and since they're not steel, they're not see through, either, which I rather miss. And two, the fry pan, as others have mentioned, is so small as to be almost useless, but it is very good for cooking very small things, like a fried egg, or a few sausages for one.

That said though, this is an excellent starter kit and gives you some real basics. If you're looking to just start out with a few good pieces, get it. You'll use the small 2-quart saucepan and 3-quart saute pan all the time!

And then you'll add to it, as I plan to. Enjoying cooking again is definitely worth it.

5All-Clad is Awesome!
By greg
My wife and I received several Stainless All-Clad pieces for wedding gifts and are extremely happy with their performance. Food cooks evenly throughout the pans, heat is maintained, clean-up is simple. We have some with non-stick, which is amazing. Highly recommend purchasing. Spend the extra amount now since these will be the last ones you'll ever need to buy!

5Worth every penny!
By the-book-exchange
This set is a great way to get a few basic cookware pieces, however, once you start cooking with this truly outstanding cookware, you'll want to buy more. Over the years, I have spent hundreds of dollars on another well-known commercial cookware brand, but All-Clad is far superior. The stainless looks great and is a breeze to care for. The handles stay comfortable and the pots are really well-balanced, making them very easy to handle. They heat evenly and cook uniformly, even over low and medium heat. I am very pleased with All-Clad's performance on my radiant cooktop. I would recommend this line of cookware to anyone interested in quality and performance. Well worth every penny!
