Good Power For Rough Work

This saw was purchased to replace an underpowered Black & Decker, which bogged down when ripping hardwood trim for bookcases and cabinets. The power of this saw is excellent, although DeWalt's own rip fence flopped around in the slot so badly that the trim cuts were practically useless. I tried putting tape around the rip fence to steady it in the slot, but it didn't help much. Since the saw has good power, I use it to rip plywood panels to size before precision trimming. For basic construction and framing, this saw would probably be more than adequate, but not for precision trim cuts. As others have reported, the shoe flexes too much (probably because DeWalt tried to keep it as lightweight as possible), and when combined with the shaky rip fence slot, it will probably give rough edges to your trim.

Too much flexibility

This saw is a step up from my old black and decker, and the saw has plenty of power. But...the sole plate connection is way too flexible. It is only connected to the body of the saw by a piece of plastic housing that is about an inch wide. As I made a few test cuts the saw would not keep a 90 degree angle. The connection would flex and I would end up with a cut that was beveled 2 or 3 degrees. To me that is unacceptable for a tool costing this much. I'm taking this saw back and see if I can trade it in for the DW364.

No brake despite what Amazon says

I bought this saw instead of the comparable Hitachi because it was a bit lighter and more powerfull. The product details said it has an electric brake, an essential safety feature in my opinion, but it DOES NOT! I will be returning mine and purchasing another, but not from Amazon.

The Systems Best

Out of all The System albums I have heard, The Pleasure Seekers is the best, with Don't Disturb This Groove (DDTG) a close second.

I accidentally bought this one when I did not see DDTG in the stores in 1987. Oops, but the music was great. It stayed in my tape player for months.

Tragically, my little sister liked to record midnight dance music off the radio with her tape player, and was without a tape--so, she looked into my tape collection and commenced to shove paper in the tape record protector of "MY FRIGGIN FAVE TAPE THAT COULD NOT BE BOUGHT ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY WERE OUT OF PRINT UNTIL LAST WEEK OF THE YEAR 2000" --sorry-- anyway, I found it in Japan and Amazon is selling them again and I have it and it is still great and is so TOTALLY EIGHTIES with the drumulators and synthesizers and sequencing.

Don't Run From THIS!

Consumer Warning:This album will ROCK YOUR MIND!!!The System's 'The Pleasure Seekers' is crammed FULL of loud, beat-heavy old school techno-funk complete with shouts,yelps and gutteral vocals!"I Don't Run From Danger" pretty much spells out the affair-too much heavy duty dance and funk music that will get you started at a dance party or that most hyperactive of aerobics classics!So unless as this bands first album title indicates you're ready for a good sweat you've come to the right place.Otherwise this could be dangerous!

Back in the day, this was it! The System's first release was ok, but this one rocked. I was even more blown away when I saw them in concert at Bogart's in Cincinnati, back in the mid 80's. The System blend funk and pop, on the R&B tip... David Frank is a wiz with the music while Mic Murphy writes songs about love, friendship, life. Nothing too heavy, yet not bubble-gum. I played this a ton in college and still brings back many fond memories...

My favorites are: "The Pleasure Seekers" (Slammin...Hi-Yah!)/"It Takes Two" (Melodic and smooth)/"Love Won't Wait For Lovin"/"This Is For You" (*As good as it gets)/"Did In By A Friend."

The" only "Jig saw

Anyone who uses tools for a living knows that there are tools recognized as undeniably the best, and this is one of them. As far as Jig saws go this one stands alone. The other model with automatic blade lock is lacking in how tightly the blade is fixed , and therefore cannot be recommended. Smooth is the word, both the way it runs and the cuts it makes. In a past life I cut letters out of plywood for signage, as demanding as it get for jigsaw work,and this one never let me down. Slap in a fine finish blade and you barely need to sand... Now days I cut out sink openings, radius deck corners, do cut outs in decking and subfloors. Everytime I use my Bosch, I marvel at how well it is made,how wonderfully it runs, and what a good investment it was.

Nice saw, but plastic blade changing handle not so sturdy

Nice saw with a good feel and plenty of power. The blade stays straight and cuts are smooth. The trigger is very precise allowing virtually any speed range between off and full on. The black pull up blade changing handle pops off almost every time I change a blade and being made of a rigid PA6 GF resin I'm waiting for it to break. I hope it does not since such a simple piece of plastic would render the saw worthless in an instant. Take care and some extra seconds when changing blades.

The best jig saw in the world

I've used a lot of jig saws and this one, by far, is the best one ever. It was reconditioned but I couldn't tell the difference from new.
